My favorite place! I would always get a Mexican mocha, or mango smoothie. The deli sandwiches are on point, awesome bacon and avocado options! Araceli the owner is always here always with a smile on her face. I miss my favorite local coffee shop since I’ve moved away but you can still enjoy it!

Salads are BOMB! Well, I basically load up my salads like their sub sandwiches without the bread. But holy moly, their salads fill me up and are delicious! I like to have tuna AND bacon(I don’t do dainty) and they deliver. A small is even a bit too large but, again, I load it up with protein. I also love their outdoor seating. It’s a nice little escape during the workday:) They’ve got a regular customer out of me. So damn good, makes you wanna smack yo’daddy!

Cute little sandwich/salad shop. Food is fresh and flavorful. There is a back patio full of trees that provides a nature scenic view. The staff is very friendly. I came here on a date and it was perfect for lunch. I definitely recommend coming for the food too.

Been wanting to try them for a minute I’m glad I caught them before they closed for the day. Great roast beef sandwich, everything proportional, very good Greek salad! Ate half the salad and half the sandwich, totally full. Tasty!

First time here & definitely coming back. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Panini and it was a great size for the price & very delicious. I’m excited to go back & try other items on the menu. Friendly staff. Looks like a family runs it. Love it! I highly recommend this place — that’s how I heard of it. Must add very clean & inviting.

I had a wonderful experience with Roccab’s Café. I have tried the breakfast sandwich and their pear salad with grilled chicken. Both food items were delicious. They have a serene patio that overlooks a gorge full of trees and plants. It was a great place to enjoy a meal, whether breakfast or lunch. I recommend trying them!

The best sandwich I have ever had! My boyfriend and I come here all the time. The family that owns this place is wonderful. My go to sandwich is chicken breast on a French roll with avocado and bacon. The patio outside is adorable. The homemade croutons are also amazing. ABSOLUTELYAMAZING!

I absolutely adore Roccab’s. There aren’t a lot of true delis in San Leandro, and though Roccab’s technically isn’t, boy, they sure know how to make a sandwich. Located right next to the San Leandro Creek down the block from City Hall, Roccab’s is a family-run eatery that drips with personality. A fascinating, narrow interior that hugs the edge of the creek, a rich wood counter, polished wood tables and chairs, and a pleasant little balcony to sit on in nice weather all contribute to the restaurant’s cozy atmosphere. The food is delicious and relatively cheap. My lunch of a sandwich, chips, Italian soda, and a bottle of water was $ 12. Throw out one of the extra drinks and that’s lunch for around $ 10, and the portions aren’t skimpy, making the value even better. With a friendly staff and speedy service, not to mention a variety of salads, smoothies, drinks, and more, there’s no going wrong with a visit to Roccab’s.

This place has the BEST spinach salad that I’ve ever had(and was where I discovered my undying love of poppyseed dressing). I’m personally not a huge fan of anything leafy green and relatively healthy for me, so I was surprised by how much I liked this! When California used to have water, the San Leandro Creek borders one side of the building and, when you’re sitting on the outdoor terrace, can enjoy the sound of the bubbling water as it rushes by. Now, you just have a depressing view of a dry creek bed(though hopefully not for much longer). The staff are friendly and service was fairly prompt, but I’ve only really ever been here on slow weekend days.

I’ve only been once and only had a chicken caesar salad, but I was not impressed. Flavors were okay for individual elements, but the chicken caesar salad had a BBQ chicken and garlic bread for croutons. Again, each one was fine individually, but the combination was really bizarre. It felt like leftovers, not a cohesive dish. Not great. The location is cute and the large windows to see the creek behind the lot are wonderful. The staff was also friendly and quick. Three stars for food and location, minus one star because I don’t think I get the flavor profiles.

I work right next to this place and had always wanted to try it since my coworkers recommended it. Finally had the chance to go yesterday 11÷24÷15 and had a good experience. Me and my boyfriend shared the Cesar Salad w/chicken and turkey pesto panini. We also tried their mango green tea… not much of a fan because I didn’t taste any mango. Overall, the food was great and the place is pretty small, but cozy. Probably going to come here again and try their other items.

Everyone here was just so sweet and welcoming. I love the fact that this café is just around the corner from home. A two minute walk and I can be soaking up the sun on the back patio enjoying a latte or chowing down on a freshly made sandwich in the front. The family that owns this place are great. Always smiling and beckoning us in. Super accommodating without pup too. They have no problem with dogs on the back patio. They even brought us a bowl of water one morning while waiting in the front. The food is pretty darn good and the coffee is strong. My only gripe is the short hours and lack of parking(for friends).

One of my favorite things to do on a weekday morning off is to come to Roccab’s after a morning workout. I order a turkey pesto panini and an iced white chocolate mocha and take a seat on the back patio. With the sun shining, a delicious panini of the perfect size, and coffee, you feel like you could sit for hours and just relax. Occasional traffic noise from 14th Street will bring you back to reality, but it is such a peaceful little respite on that patio. I’ve brought friends here, but it’s my go-to spot when I’m dining solo with a book(or really, my iPhone!). I have also tried a turkey, bacon, and avocado sandwich on a croissant and that was like heaven on earth as well. Fresh ingredients, toasted and warm croissant, crisp bacon… what could be better?

Very cute little place. Would be such a hit if they made it bigger and trendier to match wth San Leandros new innovative façade. Mango peach tea is good and their egg salad is great! They give you a good amount too. I had never been there before and walked in about 15 – 20 minutes before closing and the staff was very kind to me.

I love local spots like this and Roccab’s did not disappoint! When you walk in, it seems so small but there’s actually a lot of room! You’ve got the tables out front, the inside area, and the back patio with plenty of tables. It was so nice to have lunch on the back patio. With the trees and creek right in view, it almost makes you feel like you’ve taken a quick staycation at a nearby wood area and you’re enjoying your food away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Maybe I’m romanticizing it, but I really liked being able to eat outdoors and just enjoy the nature around. The food was so filling too! I got a grilled chicken sandwich on Dutch Crunch bread(my fav!) for $ 8.50 and it was very good! I also got the mint chocolate frappé for $ 4.25 which was good as well. It was very chocolatey though, so if you’re not too into that, be warned. All in all, a nice spot to enjoy some good food with good company.

Really happy Unilocal led me to this place yesterday! Met a coworker for lunch, saw they had a back patio and great looking salads. Totally TRUE! I ordered the spinach salad with strawberries, added chicken and avocado. GREAT salad! Super fresh and a great amount of spinach, chicken was warm and seasoned, the croutons — OMG garlic delish! Customer service was very nice, the back patio was a nice escape from E 14th street. Coworker had the egg salad sandwich and really enjoyed it! Thanks Roccab’s!

This place is okay. Juuuust okay. The customer service is not the best, and the food is mediocre. Somewhere good for a quick lunch to go, I think? I ordered the turkey pesto(okay), and a Caesar salad. I think next time I’d order just a strawberry walnut salad — the description on the menu sounded delicious. Their patio out back looked cool too, I couldn’t get to it though because it was so busy when I got there. The food took a bit to come out too, and the employees not the most welcoming. Not too sure if I’d come back…

I came here with my parents and my sister for a family outing and we were not disappointed. It’s definitely a hidden gem in San Leandro & I would’ve never guess’d that I would’ve loved my experience here as much as I did but with A+ service and quality food and drinks, there’s not much to love! *FOOD&DRINKS* I ordered a Mexican Mocha & a Turkey Pesto Panini! My sister ordered a chai tea latte, my dad got a caramel latte, and my mom got a hazelnut cappuccino. We were all in agreement when we said that we didn’t regret coming and that we really felt we got our money’s worth! For everything we ordered, I believe it was around $ 20-$ 25. Our drinks were flavorful and creamy & delightful! I have to say, didn’t expect much from the panini I ordered and felt like«Oh, maybe I won’t get full… it’s just going to be a sandwich» Boy, what I wrong. They really give you a good amount of turkey in there and ahhh, it was delicious! I definitely want to come back for more and try more of their drink/food options! *SERVICE* I don’t know what people are talking about or maybe my family and I got lucky, but we received some excellent customer service! When we first came in, we were a little confused and unsure of what to get, but once we ordered we settled in before deciding that we couldn’t let a beautiful day go to waste and we sat on the patio overlooking the creek! When one of the workers saw us, he directed us to the bigger table for larger groups and even got my and my family some extra chairs to sit on! What was nice was that the larger seating area had an umbrella and a bench with cushions so it was very comfy! Our food took longer than I’d like to come out, but we did order a lot and when it came out the same worker brought the food out to us and he didn’t mind telling us about how parking is here and he didn’t laugh at us when we asked if he could take a picture of us! In fact, he took multiple. He was so kind and genuine and provided us with quality service with a smile! *AMBIANCE* It’s not a big café, there’s some seating inside and outside the café. The outside seating is a balcony overlooking the San Leandro Creek, so yeah on hot days there may be a bunch of bugs and stuff — so if you’re not used to nature or can’t handle the great outdoors or are allergic to nature, save yourself the trouble and don’t sit outside. You’ll save yourself the struggle. However, my family and I personally loved it. We came on a beautiful morning and we were able to take a bunch of pictures and it was just great. Not even going to lie, there was awesome natural lighting and we had a mini-family selfie photo-shoot because no one else was on the patio. So yeah! Food for thought, there’s some great lighting on the balcony if you’re lucky! *PARKING* It’s located across from SL City Hall, so yes there is street parking, but there’s also a lot behind Roccab’s where you can park! Be warned, if you try to park in the spaces directly in front of this café and if police decide to be super strict the day you come, you just might find yourself with a ticket or two — why? Well, as informed by one of the Roccab’s employees if you plan to stay for longer than twenty minutes or so, it’s not technically allowed. But hey, to each one’s own and if you want to be a rebel and risk it — by all means. *OVERALL* I really like this place and feel like it’s a hidden gem in Downtown San Leandro. Definitely a nice place to have a cup of joe or have lunch! If I ever move back or visit home, I’m definitely going to come back and want to see what else Roccab’s has to offer. Just goes to show you, you never know what’s in your own backyard.

I’ve been coming here for over 5 years. The food is a five! Never been disappointed with any food I’ve ordered its sooo good! However I’ve been noticing how bad there customer service is. Very slow. Workers don’t seem like they want to be there I went in two days ago and the older said, «you ordered the same sand which yesterday and never came to pick it up.» I said excuse me? I’ve never ordered something and not came to pick it up and that’s weird because I was working in San Francisco from 9am-5pm. She just looked at me no apology nothing. That really turned me off. Also they close whenever they feel like it. It may say they close at 5pm but if it’s slow they will close at 3 or 4pm. If you have business hours you should stick to them! Nothing more irritating than making the drive there to find out they closed early which happens ALL the time. Today it says they close at 5 I called at 4 to order they said we closing early 4:30…

Location: Right off of East 14th next to the clock shop! Street parking only. Customer Service: This is why I gave this place a one star… There was probably two people ahead of us. We order our food one of the people already gets their food, then the people after that gets theirs. We’re sitting in this empty café for about I don’t know 30minutes or so already(I can’t remember the time frame but I wrote it on my quick tip when I was here if you can check) And we look at each other like what’s going on? We go up to the cashier ask us where our sandwiches are and she looks at us like«Oh crap you don’t have your sandwiches look» and she turns and looks at the person making the sandwiches and you could tell they knew they messed up big time. We waited for I don’t know another 15−25minutes just to receive our food and walked out pissed. Keep note, no one was in the café! We were the only ones left? Décor: Small café, with indoor and outdoor seating. Presentation of Food: To-go. How did the food taste?: Mediocre turkey pesto Panini and I’m not sure if I’m judging the food because of the horrible customer service we received. Overall Experience: Just horrible. Would I Come Back?:No.

After only one sammich, it’s hard to give a TRUE rating… but based on the turkey pesto panini I had, I say 4 stars. I ordered it to go. They were quick, and prepared quite a taste panini for less than $ 7. The seating area inside is small but pleasant. There is a deck over the San Leandro creek that looks like it would be lovely on a sunny day. They menu is quite diverse, with coffees and breakfast items available as well. When my panini was done, the gentleman brought it over to me, I liked that. I’ll be going back, and will update my rating/review accordingly.

My folks owned a larger version of a place like this for years so as much as I think the deli at Whole Foods rocks, I’m still partial to mom & pop delis and prefer them whenever possible. The couple that owns this place and their staff work hard, hand pick the produce and ensure that everything is fresh and fair priced. When I have to be in our San Leandro office every once in awhile this will definitely be my new go to lunch spot. Extra friendly grateful ownership here — if you’re already not a local and you happen to be in this area definitely try then out! tip: delicious chicken Caesar salad(which I’m already craving though just had it yesterday), very generous portions and a cute little outside creek if you have the time to actually have a real lunch not one the run.
