My experience was honestly the best ever. Usually I hate visiting Metro for a variety of reasons. But as soon as I went in, one of the employees quickly greeted me and helped me with everything I needed! He was very kind and helpful — and super funny!
The other workers seemed rude and one of the girls gave me somewhat of an ugly look.
Albert’s assistance really made it the best experience. Can’t wait to go back!

I set up a prepaid account with Metro PCS in March of 2015, which included a phone for my grandson. The service was poor and anytime I went into their store there was a charge. The Customer Service reps are the must unpleasant people I have had to deal with. They charged me $ 15 to have a sim card placed in my phone. As of August 29^th my service was off because I decided to change Services to T Mobile which I did today on September 1, 2015. The only problem is that Metro has a lock on my phone, which prevents me from getting service so I asked them to remove it. They told me that unless I pay them for this month they will not unlock my phone. I own the phone even though I purchased it from them but it is my phone. So now I paid for service from T Mobile and Metro PCS is trying to force me to pay $ 87 or they will not unlock my phone. Then I was told that it was not them but ZTE even though I bought the phone from Metro PCS. The clerk that waited on me was very rude and acted as if I was bothering her. Of course I was upset about someone shaking me down for money. Now I have to go back to T Mobile and either purchase a phone or pay them to have my phone unlocked. This is why I am complaining about Metro PCS.

I would give this store –1,000 stars if I could. I just got a text about upgrading my phone today and not only did they NOT answer their phone – they denied my trade in because they wanted to keep some on hand to SELL. So I called around and finally got a human to answer at a different location, but I made that trip for nothing since they closed right when I got there – thanks traffic! Trust me, this is just the start of a strongly worded letter to the higher ups at Metro. Poor management decisions right here.

After seeing the ads on tv and hearing them on the radio I decided to do some research on the Windows Nokia phone. It is advertised with an instant $ 50 rebate and then a $ 20 rebate. So in the end it would cost me only $ 29. I go. To t he store where the sales person talks me into some other phone since the Nokia is not supported by many metro features and there was no supported apps for Facebook and Twitter, etc. So she found me a phone only it was $ 20 more. Oops that phone was not in stock so she phone me a better phone for another $ 20 extra. Well that blew it for me. I was a little upset with the upselling and left. I decided to call the manager and he also stated that the phone I wanted would not really be supported by metro and there were no apps and if there were, they were not free and I could not get my contacts from my old phone. I was really issued and hung up on this guy.
Walking through Walmart I saw the very phone I was trying to by at the metro store. It was $ 79. Now, I did not get the instant rebate but I was a little certain that I could at least try to get the mail in rebate. So now I have the phone I want and there were FREE apps for Facebook and Twitter. I bought an app for 99 cents to transfer my contacts and got all 168 of them on the new phone. So. Now Ionce I send in the mail in rebate I will have a $ 59 phone that metro offers for $ 29, I discovered I can get apps and change my own contacts in less than two minutes. I wonder if this happens at all of their stores. They get you in the door and they upsell you a more expensive phone. I wonder how many of the $ 29 phones they really sold. Anyway, after years of being with metro I am now seeking a new carrier. The trust is no longer there and I know I can do better. Even though this is my only real complaint with them, I just do not like games. Be careful here folks. Dishonest and all they want is to get as much out of you as they can. Smh

This is a typical case of poor customer service, and in my opinion it starts from the top, Management. There needs to be a better system in place in assisting «valued customers» the reps took forever assisting customers they were so nonchalant in moving the line, but as it reached closing they suddenly woke up!
I would like to give an A+ to one rep name KE-​KE. I observed her my entire time there, and she was GREAT, excellent with the customers, professional, moved promptly as if she cared. I was impressed. KE-​KE needs to be promoted. I don’t know her position, however I feel with her skills that I witnessed she needs to be in the Managers role. WAY TO GO KE-​KE !!!

After deciding that Verizon was getting ridiculously overpriced and their refusal to resolve a customer service issue (despite being with them for 6 years and spending thousands and thousands on service and frequent phone upgrades), I decided to check out other carriers. I have a few friends who said that Metro PCS had been purchased by T-​Mobile and the reception/​data was actually quite good. They had a BYOD promotion, so I was able to unlock my two Galaxy Note 2’s and took one of them in.
I will preface this by saying that this is a BUSY location, so don’t expect a run-​in run-​out experience. After waiting 45 minutes, I took the device up to the counter and the CSR told me that the phone was not unlocked and tried to send me to a business down the street that would unlock it. I knew that it was already unlocked, so I purchased a SIM card and went home, and sure enough, it detected the card. Obviously, he did not know that you have to adjust the setting on the phone to GSM (something you can do on the S4 and the Galaxy Note 2). I went back the next day and activated it without issue, though I had issues sending picture messages. I figured it out (she left off a key component on the APN, which I fixed myself) and things have been fine ever since and I activated my husband’s the next day.
If Metro is going to do BYOD, their representatives really need a little training. You do have to root it or you will not be able to the Metro/​T-​Mobile APN settings on Samsung phones you bring from Verizon. You should not have an issue with T-​Mobile or AT&T if you have an unlock code. If you have one that can’t be unlocked (Straight CDMA), they now carry the Samsung S3 and S4 (exact same phone from T-​Mobile with one letter added to model number), so not all of their phones are crap. I think they have financing available on their higher end phones as well.

Let’s expose everything this place is:
1. MetroPCS sells models of phones that had too many issues (ie malfunctions) for a Verizon and ATT to pick up and sell to customers. So they sell them for cheap to Metro and you get the crap like the Samsung Galaxy S that they turn and sell for $ 300.
2. There is no such thing as a warranty at Metro PCS. Either way, you are going to have to pay to replace or fix your phone, even under manufacturer’s 1 year warranty (I pay $ 6 insurance every bill and a $ 50 deductible to replace my POS Samsung– how is that a warranty)?
3. The entire East Bay has the worst service and coverage for Metro. No service on any part of the 880, nothing on Mission Blvd., nothing at the CSU East Bay, nothing in Oakland. I have no idea how they are getting away with this.
4. They supposedly have 4G and you have to pay extra for your bill for 4G enabled phones. I’ve never been able to get this service once, and before they had 3G it went directly to 1X for service if 4G is not available. 3G rarely works, I mostly have to get wifi on my phone.
5. My battery dies every hour trying to search for 4G service. I typed in a code to go back to CDMA mode only and the swine working at the fremont store told me I void my warranty that way. So it’s either I have a phone that overheats and dies every hour or void a shitty warranty that costs me a ton of money anyway. Joke.
6. They actually tell you to buy multiple batteries because the 4G service drains your phone so quickly. One employee at this corporate location has 7 backup batteries for her Samsung Android. Epic fail.
7. Above all, they tell you NONE of this when you sign up and you figure it out as you’re dealing with all of these issues just how screwed over you are by Ghetto PCS.
Negative stars for the ex con ghetto employees. This entire corporation is the Walmart of cell phone service. Complete joke, do your research before going this route. I would rather pay 3 times the amount for better service and handling with ATT than deal with this garbage and lies ever again.

I’ve been back 3 times because they can’t get thier story straight. It’s either something they can or can not do. At the end, they sent me to the main office down the street. THEY deserve the 4 star.

Strike one: I walked in last night to find 2 young girls and was surprised that they were alone at the store. One could barely speak English and the other couldn’t tell me much about the features of the phone I wanted.
Strike two: I asked what the warranty is on the phone and heard that it is 1 year if I buy at a corporate store but only 30 days if I buy there. I really needed the new phone so I was ready to buy anyway.
Strike three: Then I asked if they could transfer my old phone book to my new phone and the answer was «no, we don’t have the cable. You have to go to the corporate store.»
