THEYARESHUTDOWN. :( Call first to see if they are open. There’s been plenty of times I wanted dinner from here and they weren’t even though it says it is. Booo. Super cheap, very friendly staff, and good quality food! What more can you ask for?!! This is my new Friday night hot spot!

I have given Dee one star because I can no longer get my awesomely lunch there anymore since they are CLOSED! :(WAAAHHHHH! Two weeks ago and found it closed at 1:00 p.m.; I thought this was strange since they didn’t close until 3:00 p.m. This afternoon I was craving their good food and to my dismay there was a sign on the door that read«Sorry business is closed». CLOSED??? How can this happen? So i went back to my car, kicking a rock, grieving that my favorite thai restaurant is gone.

Whoops! I stopped in last week and found the food tasted comeplely different. Is this because someone else was cooking that night or I got there too late(or early) or the cook was having a really bad night. I talked to a pal that shared takeout from Dee Café last November. HE remembered the food as «unremarkable» and definitely not good. I’ll try this again because I know the food CAN be delicious, but I also know the food and service from Dee Café is uneven. Go here if you are ready to have an adventure at a takeout place.

This place is number one in my book! Great food, great prices and they deliver!!! What’s not to absolutely looooooooove about this place? And you can order online? It just not get any easier to enjoy amazing Thai food delivered at your door step. A+ a must try. Everyone who I’ve recommended this place to loves it, too. Thanks, Dee for providing yummy food to me and my roommates on pretty much a weekly basis. So much better than fast food.

I usually don’t head out to San Leandro but doing some construction work and found this place. I was pleasantly surprised. The Green Curry with eggplant is very well balanced with the right amount of heat and coconut milk and they also serve brown rice which is a big plus.

This place is absolutely fantastic! I used to go to Thai Satay in San Leandro but this place is so much better. I love the pad kee mow and tom yum soup!

Modestly decorated and remotely located but the food is good for not having to get out of San Leandro. From what I can tell it’s family operated with the husband cooking inside and the wife servicing and I must say it works pretty well. Every time I’ve come here they’ve been exceptionally friendly and prompt. Only complain I have is the location as it’s in the middle of no where on e14th and seems sketchy at times, look past that and it’s a okay. Friendly note. Careful driving in, horrible dip in the driveway if you don’t approach it from the side and take it easy.

Great value for the lunch menu — my co-workers and I are kind of addicted to Dee Café since they’re a block from the site where we have training every two weeks. Just a short walk and for as little as $ 5, you get a soup, salad, potstickers, and an entrée. The décor is simple but they have some decorative pieces(vases, mini statues) that look authentic. The menu is really cool as it’s this huge bound book with a raised traditional image carved in metal. The soup is simple with tofu & dried seaweed pieces — a little watered down but a decent appetizer. Salad is simple with iceberg lettuce, shaved carrots, and a sweet & sour sauce. The potstickers are really great, the skin being soft yet with just that slight crunch on the outside. They come in a mini plate on your entrée plate, with just the right amount of soy sauce(ie. not so much that they’re drowning in sauce). I’ve tried the Panang Curry, Yellow Curry, and Pineapple Curry. They’re all really good, a nice thick sauce, just spicy enough without being overbearing. I’ve tried a bit of the pad thai, which you get tons of and is good. I would say the stir fried veggie/meat dishes are a little simple — if you want more flavor go for the curries or the curry or fried noodle sections of the menu!

We have ordered food from this place a few times and the food is okay but they deliver so that is a plus in our book. The portions are okay but just don’t order anything with shrimp because you will get about 3 – 4 small shrimp! Also DONOT order the salmon… it was over cooked which made it tough and dry. I must say it was the worst salmon I have ever had. The one thing I have to mention is the fact that almost nobody here speaks English well if at all. No matter if you order in the restaurant or on the phone you will speak to multiple people just to complete your order. It is the most annoying thing EVER! If you order food from here bring your patience and don’t expect the food to be anything to write home about.

Last night on a whim, my partner and I decided to try Dee Café. They had decent reviews and were close by and seemed to be affordable. We drove down east 14th and made a u-turn once we passed it. The front of the restaurant is lit up with a large sign and is easily visible from the street and not too hard to find if you know the area. The parking in the front is pretty scarce and scary, but it looks like there is a lot in the back. We parked and walked into the quaint cozy place. The décor is nice and the host/waitress/proprietor was gracious in greeting us and offering us a seat. The menus are really unique and cool which was another prelude to the awesome meal to come. Almost everything on the menu can be made vegetarian with tofu and some dishes have the option of vegetarian chicken and duck. My partner and I ordered the green curry and the pad thai. Both seemed to be pretty staple dishes so I can imagine that the other food is of a similar quality. The food came after a short wait and was more delicious than I can put into words. I’m sure that a meal at twice the price wouldn’t be this good. There are subtle differences and unique traits to the dishes like two types of rice noodles in the pad thai and a slightly thicker curry sauce than most Thai green curries. The vegetables are fresh and delicious. The fake chicken was good, but not great and the tofu was similar in this regard. Neither one held enough of the flavors in the dish as I would have liked but everything else was so epically awesome I really didn’t care all that much. I will be going back here often for a quick cheap and delicious meal whenever I’m too tired to cook. I would recommend Dee Café to anyone. CHAD

This is my 2nd time ordered take out from Dee. The food is consistently good. The first time I ordered for a pick up, then today I called for a delivery since it’s raining. The service is great. The servers both times were friendly and polite. It’s best to order for take out since the restaurant is empty and quiet, not really a set up to have sit-down dinners. I am happy to have a decent Thai restaurant for this area, directly from the kitchen, no bells or whistles, just straight up yummy Thai food. Thanks for coming to our neighborhood :)

Good, healthy, freshly prepared, and cheap. Comfortable and clean café. it is pretty rare to find a Thai place that doesn’t over cook their veg(or maybe they reheat) or add too much sugar to sauces. We got all the standards: pad thai, tom kha gai, papaya salad, red curry. and tried the fried fish appetizer(yum!) I ate a lot and my belly didn’t ache at all! But– this place will not be outstanding until they up the ante with a bit more flavor punch– More fish sauce and lime juice and salt and peppers… please.

From my one-time experience, this restaurant is nothing to write home about. When my crew & I ate here, we were the only ones in the restaurant. Service was good, but it was difficult to communicate with the waitress because of her limited English – but she did her best, so I give her credit for that. =) Peanut sauce, as mentioned in a previous review – was indeed super runny, and not what we expected it to be. The salad itself wasn’t bad. Pad Thai was okay, but not great. Meh…

i have been here twice and i think i am glad there are other thai restaurants beside thai garden in san lorenzo, hayward area. The funny thing, aside of positive reviews of Thai Garden, I actually am not a fan of Thai Garden, i ate their Pad Thai twice, i think it is a bit tasteless(i gave it a second try and still disappoint me!). Dee Café Pad Thai suits my taste better and my husband also agrees with me. Anyway, i tried their Pad Thai, Spicy spaghetti with seafood, gyoza, salt pepper chicken and pineapple fried rice. I like them all except the salt and pepper chicken. It was totally not the same salt and pepper chicken i used to have at Thai Basil Berkeley which is the best. That’s the only turn off for me because the salt and pepper doesn’t taste like dry salt and pepper, it is more like chinese style chicken stir fry with brown sauce not dry but other than that, i love other food i had. they have discount for grand opening promotion through nov so it saves money too, My husband likes their spicy spaghetti with seafood. I’ll be back to try other items from the menu, and hope they will improve.

So I thought I’d give the new kid on the block a go, when I got the menu on my doorstep. Big mistake! The food was the worse ever! I’m normally pretty forgiving when it comes to food but, they should be ashamed to call it food, much less thai food! I ordered pad thai, chicken satay and beef and broc. with oyster sauce. I got chicken jerky on a stick, beef and broc. soup,(no rich brown oyster sauce here!) and a big ball of noodles passing for pad thai! A sour cucumber salad, runny peanut sauce and wire rice rounded out the bunch. I swear it was like«Bizarro» thai food, all the flavors were complete opposites! A sour cuke salad?! Are you f*cking kidding me?! I’m actually angry! Did I mention it was cash only? yeah, I got f*cking suckered… most of it ended up in the trash for fear of food poisoning, I don’t play that son… In summation, i’m sure FAIL is on the horizon. They are god awful, I wouldn’t let my dog eat there, a whack with a newspaper is more humane. Thai Garden is a mile down the road on mission, I suggest you spend your bucks there, I was just stupid and hungry. Don’t be stupid.
