The tables was filthy, the floors was grimy, there was silverware on the floor, it would have been better to sit on the ground than their chairs and the food was over priced.

The food was very tasty the portion was bismal and the service was lacking. Considering the meal portion was so small we asked for more bread that never came! The atmosphere was nice the view of the sunset was perfect. It was the portion size that totally let me down. The 2 star are based on the portion. The two stars are for taste!

Went here in a Buisness meeting with a group of people… We had dinner food was done right… Crème brûlée is a must try… Nice view… Had a bad experience here before but I guess it was an off day for them… I didn’t wanna go back… Haven’t been here since that bad experience but I didn’t had a choice. My Buisness partner picked the place… I guess it’s pretty decent… I would prolly come back here again…

The Lobster Plate is amazing great food but the service could be better. The location is ideal being right next in the San Leandro Marina with view of boats and water.

I’ve been to Horatio’s 3 or 4 times over the years. The experience has never been bad, but it’s also nothing spectacular. The food is good with a focus on seafood. The clam chowder is tasty and I recommend it if you are a fan. The service is also okay, but that’s where I would say they lose and extra star. Each time I’ve come, the servers were somewhat busy so there was a delay in getting our orders, drinks, food, etc. I don’t blame them since they are always courteous to our table when they come and try to make it right but I would guess that they need more servers. The best part of Horatio’s is the view of the Marina. Overall, it’s a decent place and worth a visit if you want good food and a nice view.

After the first time we came to this restaurant I had emailed the manager Kelli about my experience and she invited my Fiancé and I back to give us better service. To be fair in my review I ordered the same meal… Prime Rib. It was AMAZING! The vegetables and Prawns I ordered were delicious and perfectly seasoned. Kelli came by to introduce herself and apologize for our previous experience which I am grateful for because not many places care about their customers happiness. Our Server Victor was one of the BEST Servers I’ve had in a really long time! He made great suggestions about different plates and drinks. It’s really hard to get such great service like his! If you make a reservation I suggest you definitely ask for him! I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant!

One of my favorite go to spots for happy hour. Beautiful view, great customer service and of course delicious food. The warm macadamia crusted brie is definitely always on point!

Went there for dinner. I had to use my Groupon. Its the last time I’m getting dinner here. I should have read my previous reviews. We got there on a Monday night at 5:30 got great seats and ordered the clam chowder. They do this leek thing with the chowder along with some other herbs and it didn’t work for me. An okay amount of clams but the leeks and other herbs distracted from the clam flavor I look for. It was thick. I ordered the prime rib regular cut. The portion size was huge, but no flavor and the meat wasn’t tender. It needed the steak knife to get through it. It comes with decent mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. I was disappointed for $ 32 it should have had more flavor IMHO. I also got the petite lobster tail as a addition with it for my wife. She loved it and the portion size was generous. My wife wanted dessert so she got the key lime pie. It was a nice portion size and the key lime was good. My wife swears they used Cool Whip instead of whipped cream. I have to admit it didn’t taste like whipped cream. We won’t be back for dinner. Just sticking to happy hour.

We were seated outside for some reason… There was hair in my food and the manager asked me what I wanted. I am the customer — you are the service. I should’ve asked her to comp the entire meal. It sorta ruined the occasion. I would highly recommend AVOIDING this establishment. Unfortunately, the food is flavorful. Regardless, a tasty meal doesn’t overcome hairs in food. Do not pass go. The manager ended up coming back and comped the entire meal. We will not return, but the customer service was excellent.

This place deserves more than 5 stars, this is an excellent restaurant, from the staff to the food. We had two large groups 18 in one and 14 in the other. Our waiter, Chad was awesome. He maintained a wonderful attitude, he was engaging and very attentive. He served us the whole evening with an award winning smile. Ok on to the food. I had lobster bisque and I was sold at the first spoonful, it was the smoothest, well seasoned bisque I’ve ever had. For my entrée I had a salmon dish that was super delicious. I was too full to eat dessert but would love to try it. Wish I could have gotten it to go but was traveling so no place to store it. The only thing I hate is there is not one in Houston, TX! Fabulous place if you ever in Oakland give them a try.

Horatio’s is a great place to come to for a weeknight Happy Hour after a long day. Located on the San Leandro Marina right off the Marina Boulevard Exit off of Interstate 580, even in Friday night traffic it only took me about half an hour to drive from my home so it was a very easy trip. On this night, I came so I could meet up my Unilocal friends Hazel C. and Michael S. for some Unilocalie good times to conclude our week. Between the three of us we ordered the Country Fried Calamari, Oven Roasted Crab and Artichoke Dip, Buffalo Chicken Wings and a special of the day: the Butterflied Shrimp covered in garlic butter and chives, in addition to complimentary warm buttered bread. Ohhh, that warm buttered bread should be sold on spec! On top of two cocktails, our total bill came to twenty-two dollars a person. You can’t beat a price like that! Horatio’s feels like it comes from the same family of restaurants like Kincaid’s in Oakland and Skate by the Bay in Berkeley, unassuming local hangouts with great views, good cocktails, and affordable dishes, especially for Happy Hour. As for the dishes, we always keep coming back and it’s even better with big groups as everyone gets to sample their wide variety of dishes during Happy Hours, which are Monday to Friday from 4−6pm(better get there and eat fast!) but then they start again from 9pm to close! And get this they’re also on the weekends from 3−10pm! You can’t beat that especially with cost of food so expensive nowadays. This is a restaurant that knows how to serve its clientele at just the right prices. As for the food, I really loved the Oven Roasted Crab and Artichoke Dip. Served with warmed bread I found it rich and filling. The special prawn dish we ate was serviceable and the chicken wings were fine but not very memorable. Then there was the Country Fried Calamari with its artichoke hearts, mustard-garlic aioli, and bloody mary cocktail sauce, I found the calamari overcooked and way too chewy for my taste, which was a real disappointment because I love me some calamari! I did love the cocktail menu that Horatio’s provides for their Happy Hour. I had the Pomegranate Margarita which was sweet and succulent with plenty of flavor and not too strong for the faint of heart. Be forewarned it’s not a drink that huge in size but still packs a decent punch. All in all, I love coming into Horatio’s for Happy Hour. They were busy but it wasn’t overfilling with customers so there were some tables available. Our server Gabriel made sure our water glasses were filled and we were served adequately. I think Horatio’s will be one of those places I’ll consider coming back to for Happy Hour all of the time from here on out!

San Leandro doesn’t have very many nice restaurants to eat at, this is one of the few. I don’t know what the point of reservations are for, if you can’t get to sit down close to that time.(This wasn’t on Valentines Day or a Holiday either) We had a 7:30 dinner reservation on a Friday night. We got there at 7:15 and the hostess told us our table will be ready in a minute. So we sat down and waited. If I would have known it was going to be 8:00 before we went to our table, then I could have gone to the bar to have a drink. We waited 30 minutes past reservation time before we were seated. However, people that were walking up without a reservation were being seated within a few minutes. Something was strange here! Not a single I am sorry or them coming over to explain to us while we were waiting. So based off of the customer service part, they are minus a few stars! The food is excellent as always. The prices have gone up a bit, but where haven’t they? We both ordered something off the special’s menu that normally isn’t on the regular menu. It came with an appetizer that we split and a mini dessert tray! The bread is dangerous and you can fill up on this before dinner, so pace yourself. Customer Service: 0 Stars Food Quality and Taste: 5 Stars

I came here for dinner reservations on a Wednesday night. I got there early and sat at the bar. I definitely see myself coming back here for drinks. There’s a full bar and not too crazy with the prices… for drinks at least. It’s sophisticated American food. I loved their short rib ravioli but it was a little heavy on the sauce. That wasn’t necessary but hey, still pretty good. I can still see myself coming back for drinks and that amazing crab dip appetizer.

Mojito, si! Crab and artichoke dip rocks! Solid wine list. Good happy hour. Very good, but-not-so-near-great food. 3.5 stars. Round up for good-to-great service. You should be able to have fun here if you’re so inclined. Not super culinary & gourmet, but solid good eats. Great place for a fun date. TV’s in the lounge, first-come, with full-menu options. For the dinner side of the restaurant go directly to Open Table. Reses are very necessary. Funny that Horatio’s is Kincaid’s sister. I mean brother… restaurant. Same menu style and menu items — at the marina. Versus parking & paying pains but a better view in Jack London. Kincaid’s décor and the view takes the prize as far as I’m concerned. Neither one is cheap. As a matter of fact, I’m rounding back down to 3 stars. The price is slightly prohibitive.

Horatio’s is the place I used to go when I was a kid and the family really wanted to go all out. It didn’t happen very often, but when it did, it was great. Came here for a friend’s birthday party after nearly a decade since I had last been. First, I love the layout of this place. It has so much history and flavor. I love the feel. Also based about the food I would give this place fives stars. The food here is great! No qualms whatsoever on the food side. However, service was incredibly slow! I’m taking moving at the speed of an injured slug slow. Hell, even a 100 year old man could move faster than the service we got. The waitress while being nice, didn’t seem to really care much about us. I guess since we were a party of 8 and gratuity was already included, she really didn’t care.(Isn’t it illegal now to add gratuity?) We lost maybe an hour of our time because she was so slow. Even when the restaurant was empty she was nowhere to be seen. Still, it’s a shame because I really like this place and the food is great. Maybe next time the experience will be better.

I had a fresh Charge on my Ankle Bracelet and I was rolling with a Hungry Posse so we rolled to Horatios for their late Happy Hour. Horatios is one of my Favorite San Leandro Eateries. Its got great views of the Bay and it has an Upscale feel to it. They have a Huge Full Service Bar . We Grabbed a Large Communal Table an ordered — Oven roasted Crab and Artichoke Dip, Coconut Prawns, Grilled Teriyaki Tenderloins, Fried Brie Cheese and Sweet Potato Fries. Our food arrived 15 Minutes Later and all of the Selections were Crowd Pleasers . I would definitely take a Date to Horatios Ill be Back. Plenty of Parking in their huge lot..

Wine me… Dine me… make me feel good! This is definitely how Horatio’s makes me feel. Horatio’s is located near San Leandro Marina with tons of parking in the front. Horatio’s offers extraordinary food and service with a beautiful waterfront view sail boats and ocean sunsets. HAPPYHOUR is the BEST here! Offering a wide variety of appetizers and entrees, there was something for everyone. Happy hour is every day here… Yes, I SAIDIT every day! They even make it available for customers that are working late night. I usually walk in and seat myself and after a couple of minutes I have my server at the table. Simple and easy! Happy Hour drinks are very reasonable and they are made nice and strong(just how I like it). Happy Hour times are: Monday-Friday 4PM-6PM Monday-Friday 9PM-Close Saturday and Sunday from 3PM-Close. What a GREAT deal! And let me just admit, that their happy hour food is BIG portions! They are NOT stingy with the food. My favorites are everything on the Happy Hour menu from: ~ Dungeness Crab and Artichoke Dip ~coconut shrimp with the sweet chili sauce ~Sweet Potato fries The list goes on and on… I am always leaving out of here full and happy! **Let’s not forget that complementary Focaccia bread that they give you before your meal** OMGGG Heaven! One taste of that and trust me… There is NO running back! Customer service is always exceptional here from the time you walk in to the time you leave. This has to be one of my most favorite places in the Bay Area to eat! Horatio, you definitely have my heart and there is no place in San Leandro that I would rather be then with you and a hot date and a delicious meal! There is no doubt in my mind that the next date I’m with just HAS to take me here! Until next time!

This is our Happy Hour place in town. San Leandro has a dearth of HH places and Horatio’s is really the only one that offers a decent HH. The view is not bad too. It’s located by the marina(hence the nautical theme) and the bar area has been enlarged to accommodate many HH revelers. Fridays bring out the crowd, so you may want to get there as early as you can so you can find a table and catch their HH specials. We always get the Dungeness Crab and Artichoke Dip. Slather a small spoonful of that on a piece of focaccia bread and you will have a mouth orgasm. It’s just so tasty. It’s not cheap but it has crab in it. What’s a Happy Hour without buffalo wings? We almost always get this one too. The wings are crispy, not too heavily breaded and just enough heat for me. It may be hot enough though for those who want their mouth on fire. I’m not that crazy about their French Dip sliders, so I would avoid that. The coconut shrimp is good with the sweet chili sauce and I also like Teriyaki Tenderloin. The Calamari is just okay. I would get the crab over that! We happened to be there on a really hot day, so we chose one of their beers on tap – the Longboard Lager. It was nice and light. They have several local beers(Drake’s, Trumer, Linden St, 21st Amendment, etc) on tap for $ 4.95 during HH, house wines and cocktails on special too for HH. If you’re having the munchies later in the evening, HH resumes at 9 pm until close on weekdays if you missed the 4 – 6 pm happy time slot. On weekends, HH is from 3 pm to 10 pm! Plenty of time to be happy!

Always love coming here :) we had the same waitress as last time, and she recognized us! Haha. Remembered that our last visit was my birthday, and apologized she was slammed that night! So sweet of her. This time we came for lunch. I got the oven baked prawns and crab-stuffed sole. Thought it would be the fish, stuffed with crab, with prawns on the side. But, it must have just been the fish stuffed with prawns and crab. It was good though, the coconut ginger rice with it was good, too. It also came with brussels sprouts(I love them, haha), but they were slightly undercooked. Oh well. My bf got the same thing he always gets if it’s on the specials menu: the salmon with crab-stuffed prawns. The waitress even remembered that’s what he liked! Haha For our appetizer we got the crab and artichoke dip. Seriously good. We love coming here. Wish just we could afford it a little more often! $ 70.00 lunch before adding tip, yikes! But, we really can’t complain :)

Yesterday, we tried Horatio’s for brunch on my birthday. The restaurant is located on the San Leandro Marina. It is part of the Kincaids, Skates on the Bay group. The menu is some what similar but with more seafood items. The food was good and the service was outstanding. The stand out and must order is the crab and artichoke dip. Minus stars are for the restaurant itself. The facilities are run down. The furniture is old, the carpet /floors smell musty and of previous dinners food. This place could use a make over of the interior. The price point of the brunch menus start at $ 16 to $ 24. We also ordered 3 Bloody Mary’s and they a topping bar. The toppings were sad. They had dried out pearl onions, wilted veggies and ran out of olives. There were about 15 different kind hot sauces. The uncut celery stalks were so big they barely fit in the glass. $ 10. I’m always a sucker for a restaurant with a view. Parking is plentiful in their large lot.
