Front desk staff/hostesses there, always treat us like honored guests. Tentative, friendly, and genuinely concerned when they haven’t seen us for awhile. Always professional and polite. They know us very well. We love the food ;freshly prepared, many options. 2 concerns: 1) I wish they would keep ice cream area more clean and stocked with more variety. Same with deserts. Always the same and not very good options. and 2) they have gone through many Chefs in the BBQ stir fry area and everyone seems customer«unfriendly», doesn’t speak English well, and they never smile. They almost make the customer feel uneasy for asking them to make stir fry. Other than those two things, over-all we love the environment and taste of food is delicious. My favorite is original wonton soup, steamed rice, sauté mushrooms, and pepper beef with onions.

This place is; according to the signage«New Dragon» not«New China» and it’s AWFUL!!! The food was disgusting — we arrived around 1 p.m., on a Monday afternoon, and walked in to a horrific odor of seafood, it was hot, humid from all the steam and no air conditioning going, or fans to suck up all that steam and the stench. I only stayed because my Granddaughter insisted on having Sushi; and frankly, it looked like the only thing fresh. Everything else they just piled«fresh» pans on top of the old food, and was flavorless. The peppered beef tasted like rotten fish, the sweet and sour chicken was«do it yourself» with tempura chicken, and sauce you can add, no veggies — just the chicken and sweet and sour that you put on. The rice tasted fishy too. All around a big NO — don’t do it! I just read a few reviews and am thinking that these people must not know what good food is. The place is filthy, the tables were sticky, the glasses had lipstick on them. Never, ever, ever again, never! It’s rare for me to leave a one star review, if I could leave NO stars; I would.

This place would be so much busier if they would just focus on the Mongolian BBQ. Let the customer sauce it. Freshier meats theirs looks like out all day. More veggie choices Sesame seed topping maybe. Crushed garlic at our disposal. Until they fix that we won’t keep paying them 15 each. Ice cream buckets or so old and hard you can’t scoop it out. Pass!

Sorry… wanted to like this place. It was better previously like 10 years ago. Everything was bland or lukewarm and you get the runs on the same night and day after. And I didn’t even eat anything raw! Price wise, it’s affordable but lacking in quality of the food. I know it’s your run of the mill chinese food but I was hoping it might be better. Service was great, waitress kept clearing out table, drinks came out first. Two stars for that.

I only really come here for the seafood, mostly the fried crab legs and shrimp. And they have real ice cream with real flavors, not the typical frozen yogurt BS in most buffets. It is a buffet and it fills buffet quality, average Chinese food in a low price and shitty waiters so my standards aren’t that high like everybody else reviewing this place. Its quick and easy food like most Chinese places convenient for lunch in a rush.

The food is good but nothing special, it is one of the best Chinese buffet I’ve tried. It’s always busy on the weekends so try to go during a week day.

Disappointed, this was family member’s birthday pick. Had not been here on weekend but looked forward to crab since it’s in season. This was snow crab, rather than dungarees. So busy we never got drink refills and had to get up to ask for bill which came without any fortune cookies. Used to have birthday person’s meal free, waiter told us that’s no longer done either. Maybe we should have fulfilled the original BD request for Golden Corral in Tracy.

Warning: the food on the buffet is often barely warm! Last night when we ate there it was particularly bad. They’ve been cited for this(as well as cleanliness issues) by the Alameda County Food Safety department. If you check the website, you can see the inspection results under«Pacific Dragon Buffet» at this address. I don’t think I want to eat there until these issues get resolved, it’s hazardous to our health.

The times I’ve been here the place was called New Dragon Buffet. People, it’s cheap Chinese American buffet. Manage your expectations and don’t freak out if the nigiri isn’t up to par. It’s not the end of the world if the honey walnut shrimp doesn’t have walnuts. Go for the lo mein instead– it is remarkably good here. Many of the stirfry dishes here are great. They offer these deep fried scallops that aren’t terrible. The cheese-and-imitation-crab stuffed scallops are also a fair eat. Tender beef dishes, really delicious fried chicken wings, and delicious salt and pepper fried squid will keep you satiated. All of the soup options are amazing. I found the New England style clam chowder to be a pleasant surprise. The hot and sour soup is also yum. Of course, by «amazing» and«yum» I mean for the price. The boiled crab legs are not too salty(as it is at most buffet places) and the diversity of options is really this place’s best selling point. A vegetarian is not going to be happy here, but said vegetarian won’t starve either. I would give this place four stars for a cheap eat, but I did get food poisoning here eating the oysters. Food poisoning takes the rating down a notch; it is what it is. Over the weekend, I came here with a group of four, and the two who ate the oysters both got food poisoning, though to be fair the two who avoided the oysters left with no detriment to their bowel movements, so just avoid the oysters. Oh, and also don’t freak out if the service here is non-existent. I don’t know what the staff gets paid, but considering the fact that your dirty plates will pile up a foot high and every cup at the table empty before anyone seems to take notice, I am guessing not much. So don’t be so hard on them. Be a Good Samaritan and just leave that 20%. Not a place for any self-entitled«foodie» but gosh, if you want to get filled up rather quickly and inexpensively, and want tons of options, then what a great buffet place to keep filed away as a possible go-to.(Avoid the oysters!) Comparing it to its direct competitors, New Dragon Buffet is not bad.

We got here at 8:35pm, got our plates and couldn’t wait to start pigging out \(^o^)/. I wanted to get some mussels just to find out there were only 2 left(No Joke). Looked around for more food, just to see half of their pantries were empty. I figured they would have some more food out before 9, but NOPE. It wasn’t even near 10:00pm.…Above all that their ice cream was melting –__-. It’s was good, but melting. If you plan on coming here, make sure it’s not pass 8:20pm. Service– is good Food– is okay a bit on the greasy side.

They changed the name. It’s now new dragon buffet. With that being said I think they got new owners because my experience today was HORRID. Before we would walk in and be seated immediately. Today there was a line out the door and the people up front were just standing around. With my dad having no patience we decided to seat our selves. Once we got to the food, there wasn’t food or plates. We had to wait for plates and food to both come out. The food was cold and the place was a mess. It just totally made me nauseated and ruined my appetite. Wouldn’t come here again

service here is great! Okay the good part of this review is over. Any one who says the food here is good, or fresh is out of their mind and has a colon made of STEEL. Yes, mutha f’in STEEL. You’ll be shitting, there… I said it. So make sure your toilette is running good. Now on with the review. First of all, most of the meat I tried was either chewy or had no flavor too it(It all kinda tasted the same, very weird) The crab meat is all imitation. NOBEUNO The orange chicken was terrible. The pot stickers tasted like they been out for a whole day(eeehk) Some of my friends complained about cold bland food, and nasty ultra hard fried chicken. Not a good experience… I think the best part too my meal was the ice cream I had at the end. I got the mint chocolate chip, cant go wrong there. And it was probably the only thing I consumed here that didnt have a shit load of MSG in it. Hell, im sure even my coke had MSG in it. The worst part is, is that I payed 16 fucking dollars to sit down in this shit hole, so of course I stuffed myself, or perhaps FORCED the shit down. And yes, the MSG effect from here will kick you in the ass, and leave you feeling sick. More so than other buffets. Stay away stay away. Go to Oakland for some better buffet.

Just tried New China Buffet for the first time tonight. It is just okay. As my husband would say… «edible». The restaurant is clean. The food set up is small and a little cramped. Not the biggest buffet selection I have seen but still okay. I tried a lot of things, stayed away from the stuff that didn’t look so fresh. I would say everything I tried was over cooked or stale tasting… but edible. The only thing I tried that was good was the chow mein because they just brought it out. Nothing I tried had that tastiness you crave when eating, no yummy after taste, no good gotta have another bite flavor. My husband liked the Mongolian BBQ and some kind of crab in a shell, also the crab legs. I wish the dessert selection was bigger, typical little cakes. There was a self-serve ice cream scoop freezer. Which was a little scary looking, most ice cream buckets had flavors that were mixed… sherbert with chocolate, bubble gum with rocky road in it. The service was decent, got refills when needed and empty plates were picked up. Bathrooms need some remodeling. So… glad we tried it, ate all we could but probably wouldn’t go there again. They are a step below Hometown Buffet in my opinion. Had to pop some Tums to settle the upset stomach.

This is definitely one of the better chinese buffets in the east bay… sadly. PROS: –My favorite part is their mongolian BBQ. This is where you have the opportunity to build your own dish. You can choose from 2 types of noodles, 3 types of meat and a bunch of vegetables. You control the portions. When you are done, you hand your plate to the guy and he grills it for you. –The chicken wings are quite possibly the best thing in the warming trays –They have a plethora of options(especially seafood) CONS: –I would like the option of choosing my own sauces and marinades for the mongolian BBQ. –The sushi was horrible. –Much of the food is way too salty… avoid if hypertensive haha –It takes too long to replenish the fried rice The service is ok. The people seem friendly and arrive with your drinks in a reasonable time. However, dishes take a while to be replenished. In short: ok salty food, better then most but still has areas for major improvement, great variety, the price is ok, try the mongolian BBQ, I’ll continue to come back until I discover a better chinese buffet.

I don’t like buffet & didn’t want to eat here but one of B.‘s aunt picked it for a family lunch. This place is NOT in the mall, it’s on E. 14th St, close to the Bay Fair Mall entrance. It’s a stand alone restaurant next to Huntington Learning Center. Look around the buffet area before picking up your plate & have a game plan. Skip the lettuce and fruits near the front. There’s an area just fried stuff: wings, bacon wrapped around something, pig feet, chow mein, chow fun, BBQ area for the guy to stir-fry for you — gotta wait which can take forever. I got some of the nasty sushi Unilocalers told me to avoid — had to taste for myself. It’s Bad. Skip it! Steamed fillet fish is pretty good, some shrimp was ok. Mom liked the soup — got 3 bowls. Ice cream flavors: green tea, mint chocolate chip, rocky road, vanilla, coffee, strawberry. You gotta scoop it yourself — Hard packed ice cream and the scoop is a small one. Get a bigger bowl if you like ice cream, the ones by the scooper is small. Desserts: cookies, cake, don tot, coconut macaroons — didn’t try them. Individually wrapped fortune cookies given w/bill. Doesn’t taste good though. Yes, the fatties do eat here! Get out of the way. I’d only recommend it if someone else is buying which was my case. Open Daily 11a-10p M-Sat 11 – 4 Lunch $ 7.99; Dinner 4−10p $ 12.99 Sun all day brunch 11a-10p $ 12.99 Credit cards taken.
