New Dragon Buffet

I walked in here 30 minutes before they were closing. The manager and the chef insisted of asking us to order more and cook more for us. I said we are good. Another customer ordered oysters and within minutes, they took out a whole plate of oysters with a smile.
For those who are complaining greasy food, did you expect hotel quality individual small cups of tiny portions? And those who poo poo… you got proof that’s it’s because of the food here and not the water in your house?

I’ve been here 4 times and gotten sick twice… I really wanted to like this place the service is great! Sadly the food is questionable

My god… The food is just really cold. Not only that the staff working there are really rude when you ask for something. Wouldn’t eat here at all.

Everytime I come here I get sick right after. They’re not clean and one waiter he’s a younger cat, has attitude problems.

Reasonable prices. Crawdads, crayfish, or what ever you want to call them in a nice spicy sauce are the highlight of this place. Waitstaff are usually very friendly. Besides that, they usually have decent ice cream — Mix Coffee and Chocolate flavors to make your own mocha flavor!

The have a ‘sister site’ — «Empire Buffet» in San Pablo. I go there when I don’t mind driving from Hayward. To me they have the best hot and sour soup. Their grill is also pretty good. Best for the $$.

I’m sitting here & looking at the food choices & I’m disappointed. The fried rice tastes disgusting… The labels are off. I kinda feel disgusted eating here. I’m so mad I’m sitting her with company that are enjoying there food.

Completely miscalculated our billings. The food was not great and it felt sticky everywhere. The utensils were all dirty. Don’t recommend it.

I like their craw fish compared to another Chinese Buffet. The rest of the food are not that bad. We all know the quality (that includes taste :) of the food to a Chinese Buffet. That you don’t have expect much…

Food is cold and bland. Can’t really expect much from a buffet. Food looked better than tasted. Dont plan on coming back only good thing was the music and sliced oranges.

I should have read the review first, before I go to any of the new places.
This one is awful :(The food is so bad and cold! Nothing tasted well or at least an OK — very bad food!

I decided to give this place a try since a friend of mine liked it so much. I have to disagree with her. The food was pretty bad. It was super greasy. The dim sum was over cooked and crunchy and stale! The sushi was awful. The waitress who took our drink orders wasn’t very friendly. It was so hot and humid in this buffet I felt like I was melting. The fruit tasted like it had expired, they were all mushy and old. The dessert options where tiny. Only three desserts! The sponge cake was dried out and tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The ginger cake was nasty. They have ice cream, but it was horrible. You scoop it yourself from the big boxes which I find unsanitary, because its easy for people to accidentally contaminate it with hair and bodily fluids. The icecream tasted old and it was so hard I could barely scoop it out! And they didnt even have chocolate ice cream! Also, non of the ice creams were labeled so you dont even know what kind your getting. Most of the food was either over cooked, greasy, or old. This place is too expensive! If your going to charge so much, then make sure your food is worth it! Dont waist your money here. Im never coming back here.

Warning: the food on the buffet is often barely warm! Last night was particularly bad.
They’ve been cited on this as well as cleanliness issues by the Alameda County Food Safety department. If you check the

I don’t think I want to eat there until these issues get resolved, it’s hazardous to our health.

I used to eat there AT LEAST once a week, but after today … NEVER AGAIN.
The food isn’t fresh, the chicken kibab is suspicious. It was rubbery, hard to bite through. As soon as I ate the three bites of potstickers I threw it on up. NO EXAGGERATION.
I’m sad that new management didn’t improve these things, but I’m glad I learned it’s absolutely better to prepare my own meals to bring to work.
I plan to live to 600years old by preparing my own meals or buying from Lido’s. (The Vietnamese sandwich shop across the parking lot)
I gave 2 stars, simply because the employees are always polite and fun to talk to.

New Dragon Buffet has no pricing posted for their buffet. nada, no seniors discount either. (seems most patrons were seniors). no policy stating when lunch ends, dinners begins.
nothing tasted fresh here except for the fresh fruit. pastries, dim sum, fish, pizza, clams, mussels, most meats, sushi, previousy frozen.
best item: ice cream (scoop urself of course). 2) sausage.
cost: 9.28 with tax.
take outs:
–most entrees tasted bland
–hot & sour soup too salty
–food worst than most average americanized chinsese eatery
–hometown buffet may be a better choice.
1.5 stars.

It’s too bad there is not a way to leave zero stars. I’m writing this review on behalf of a friend who was recently hospitalized after eating here. She got salmonella poisoning and is 100% certain that it came from here. It was an awful experience for her. I will never eat here, and I would encourage others not to do so.

Used to be New China Buffet, but now I think they changed ownership…
I’m not sure if I truly like it as much as its new counterpart.
Everything seems a little skinnier. Crab legs aren’t as large and frequent. There isn’t as large as a selection…
I think I might have to give up this place for good…
