Great place to pick up food. Soup is always on point and a sandwich on the go hits the spot

I absolutely loovvee their Phở. It’s so delicious & they won’t try to skimp you with noodles. Also their Egg Rolls are good. Except its only vegetables & are really small.

I ordered the number 12 which had slices of beef and tripe. Everything was nicely prepared. Very standard phở, but it’s a nice cheap pick-me-up type of place to go to.

I love to come here for the bun sandwiches they are the best here. The bread is always fresh and soft unlike other places I’ve been to. I usually get them to go because yes the place isn’t the best looking or the cleanest, but they have great service the 2 ladies sweet ladies that work and I own it are there every day working very hard. my favorite is the chicken bun sandwiches and sometimes I have the vegetarian vermicelli which is really good with mushrooms and tofu and a lot of veggies, they give you a type of alternative to the fish sauce but I still like to use the fish sauce for that vermicelli.

Been coming here for a few years now. Pretty good and the staff are always nice. They give sizable portions. The sandwiches are affordable and always good. Personally I like the phở. They really pile on the ingredients, which is great when you’re starving during lunch time

I ordered the crab noodles, bun rieu. I liked it. It was tasty. I sat in for lunch at 2:30pm yesterday. There was only me there sitting by myself in this little restaurant. It was so small! It was like the reviews I read about this place – small, sticky table, they use the microwave(to thaw the frozen ingredients), nice cute ladies… I personally don’t mind much about how the place looks or how was the service, what matters most was the food! And food was ok! So it’s a 3 stars!

I so hate writing a bad review esp when the food was actually decently good. First of, the place is run down and needs a serious makeover. Above their fridge area, they use it as a storage area. It was all unorganized and very visible. Secondly, she gave me a napkin with a stain. Not sure if it came from her hands because she didn’t wash her hands or what. I ordered a Vietnamese egg rolls for appetizer and shrimp cake for the meal. When she first served my appetizer, I thought she spilled the sauce but when she served me the meal shortly after, I realized that the food was swimming in oil. Didn’t even bother to drain it. I put everything in a napkin and that napkin was soaking wet. When I left, I had that aftertaste and could still taste the heavy oil.

Friendly and cute little whole in the wall Vietnamese spot serving both phở and sandwiches! I don’t come here for the phở but everything else is pretty fantastic. Nice ladies work their butts off for you and are super friendly. My favs are: The sandwiches because the bread is fresh and yummy and they put a lot of meat too(I ask for extra veg) The Thai iced tea Fresh spring rolls Cuz they’re healthy and filling but mostly because the peanut sauce is by far hands down the best I’ve ever had.

Take my $ 3.95, dammit! Tu Tai has delicious and quality banh mi. Grilled chicken was just cooked, nestled in between a lightly toasted baguette and dressed up with fresh cilantro and carrots. Good amount of heat from the jalapenos and just the right size to fill you up. Your perfect banh mi. Always a pleasure to come in, consistent and very polite service.

Brother randomly found this hidden restaurant in the corner of a predominately asian strip mall. He called and ordered the meatball phở to go and to my surprise it had great flavor! even though it was to-go it was still the perfect temp when we got back to our office. Recently tried their R6 which is the combo rice plate: egg roll, pork, beef, and shrimp. For a little over 9 $ including tax I think it was a great deal! Everything had good flavor and they weren’t skimpy w the portions. Order over $ 15 to use credit card. Very small inside. Sweet lady working the front.

My boyfriend and I came here on a whim, thinking it was a different Phở restaurant we had gone too in the past. Doesn’t look like much from the outside, definitely a hole in the wall. Once we walked in, we were immediately greeted by a woman behind the counter. You can see the stove where they were cooking from the entrance. A second woman then greeted us again and seated us. I ordered a meat combo bowl. I think this is one of the best Phos I’ve ever had. It was steaming hot, the flavor was amazing, and noodles and meat were perfection. Great experience and i will definitely be back for more.

I love the food here. It’s very very tasty. The sandwiches are all amazing. It can get busy so don’t go at noon when you have 30 minutes for lunch. We have been customers for years and will continue to support this local business.

love their crab roe noodle soup(Bun Rieu) here! That’s the one thing I always get when I’m here. Also tried their phở which has any typical good broth. This is a hole in a wall type of resturant. It’s tiny but you will meet the nicest ladies that work there. They always have a smile on and checks up on you.

My go-to dish for all Vietnamese places is the vermicelli noodle bowl with chicken. Theirs is one of the best around. Chicken cooked just right, not overdone with any of the«accessory» ingredients, and even includes three bbq’d prawns. #44 on their menu, and is consistently good. My husband loves their Beef Phở, as well. My only comment is that the ladies who run it, while always very friendly, are sometimes so busy trying to be efficient that they don’t always listen to what you say/order. Be sure they repeat your order back to you, and you won’t go wrong :). Other than that, no complaints!

Omg we were desperate and tried this place for lunch… never coming back! Food was alright, but sanitation is in the negatives!!! My coworker and I are not OCD people… but even we were grossed out by how STICKY the utensils were… chopsticks and spoons. So thinking it was just our table, she went over to another table to grab more chopsticks and it was the same stickiness!!! How do other people not notice?!? Surprisingly packed for lunch… people, there are other phở options in San Leandro!!!

I went here for the first time because Saigon 2 was closed. Sadly, this has to be one of the most disappointing Banh Mi experiences ever for me. The bread was chewy/stale, they didn’t use cold cuts/ham in their Dac Biet; instead it was the leftover fat lining and dark meat from what tasted like old salty barbecue pork. The cha was cut extremely thin and flavorless. Overall quality was terrible and I won’t recommend this place ever. I like to support small mom and pop shops but in this scenario, they purposely cheated the customer by using low quality ingredients.

This place does NOT look like a place that you would like, it’s very small and it looks like a fast good place where you get banh mi but definitely their noodle soups are amazing. I had their bun Rieu and one of the best I had the soup was very flavorful and it was loaded with seafood and other side things like fish cake and what not and the portions are great. I also had their bun bo hue and by far best that is close by I alway hate having to go to San Jose for a good bun Bo hue My family loves it here and it is somewhat close by to us, I am definitely coming back to here, and I actually can’t wait.

Tu Tai is a literal hole in the middle of the commercial strip. just a counter, small kitchen and 6ish tables. menu: banh mi, phở, vermicelli, noodles, rice plates, etc. the usual items on a vietnamese menu. eats: meatball banh mi(3.5) –mushy meatball kind of coat tasting, veggies cold too –too much taste, not even msg. –mysterious liquids dripping from banh mi.(defrosted ice?) –made to order, 5 – 10 minutes crumbs: –friendly, courteous service –2 stars for dripping banh mi,(first time encountered). –downgrade to 1 star for stomach feeling funny.
