San Luis Creek Lodge

The pictures on the site don’t do it justice! A great location, very comfortable beds, great service, very respectful and accommodating!
We spent 117 nights last year in hotels and have to say that this place definitely meets all expectations! Will definitely be coming back!

We stayed in the Eucalyptus room, good size bedroom & bathroom. I liked the fake fireplace, which is actually a heater. The bed was really comfortable and the plush robes were nice. However, the rug seemed a little dingy and the ottoman had a stain, but overall the room was decent.
I expected only juice and bagels for the complimentary breakfast but to my surprised they served a full course. Scramble eggs, waffles from scratch, potatos, sausages, sauteed veggies, cereals, oatmeal, pastries, yogurt, juice, tea, coffee, whole fruits. They even have bikes for rent… pretty smart.
I did find odd that the kitchen is a few feet away from the washer and dryer… but atleast our eggs and waffles did come out good, lol. :)
The staff is very hospitable and friendly. Would I stay here again? Yes, I would.

This is an update to my previous review, and the problem my husband and I had at San Luis Creek Lodge (when we were forced to move to another, much less pleasant room, on our 2^nd day):
The owner of San Luis Creek contacted us right after my initial review, doing everything in her power to rectify the sitution, and to make us happy!
We were upgraded to a much more luxurious room, even better than the original (fantastic) room we had stayed in, at a very significant discount of the price!
The main rooms at this hotel really are superb, and that’s coming from someone who has travelled extensively!
The accomodations here are absolutey perfect, with even the smallest details thought out: we had a fireplace, lovely writing desk, comfortable lounge armchair and rocking chair, nice table lamps, large windows with curtains, wood beams on the ceiling, pristine bathroom, plush bathrobes, etc.
It really felt like we were staying in an upper-​crust British cottage!
I wish that our initial issue could have been rectified without an angry Unilocal review, but this incident sered as a reminder to try reqesting a manager or owner if an employee working the front desk isn’t accomodating (after all, everyone has an off day once in a while)

It is obvious that much thought is given to the comfort and needs of San Luis Creek’s guests — I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, and hope to bump my rating up to 5 Stars on our next visit!

Exceptional customer service that goes above and beyond, I been here since Jan 2, and it first started with the phone call… June is so helpful I told her about my mom being at the hospital at French Hospital, she listened to my story and was able to accommodate us. The amazing thing is my mom is in the hospital and i did check out until Mon, and they were gonna give me late check out till 1 pm, then I told them I’m not sure how my mom is doing daily and they said don’t worry about we will give you the same rate as we quoted you… Well they still went above and beyond, it’s been raining really hard and we are scared to drive back down to San Diego and we asked to stay until Friday, so for me versus looking for the best deal we stayed here from Sunday and will be staying here till Friday they were able to even help us more with the cost. June and Storm are here names that been so helpful… not only the service but our room has a microwave, refrigerator, even a fireplace… We also have a king size bed and daily complimentary breakfast… Heather makes and amazing waffle with blueberries :)… Thank you again so much for helping others in need. It truly has touched our hearts… Please stay here if needed in San Luis Obispo
