The food here is good but unfortunately I did not have a good experience today with their customer service associate Bertha. I ordered a salad and then asked her if they offered a senior discount. She very rudely responded«I’ve already charged you. You needed to ask for the discount before you placed your order» Then she handed me the receipt and that was it. No apology, nothing. Wow! Went through the drive thru on a Friday night. They ran out of chicken and said it’d be a 15 minute wait to cook more. I was already stuck in the drive thru with a car in front and behind. Long story short I got my food 25 mins later! El pollo loco running out of chicken… UNREAL. Never going back again.

I’ve never really eaten El pollo Loco before coming to this location and if it weren’t for me working down the street I would avoid it. The food is good but the service is ridiculous; there’s a girl that works there who wears a lot of dark makeup and she’s as dreadful as the makeup. Rude, dirty looks, and has the worst attitude. I get better service at mcdonalds.

Very friendly service! Make sure your bring coupons from the mail to save $. There was never a long wait at the Drive-Thru, but maybe that’s also why the food came out warm but not hot. The lady at the telecom greeted me and was very patient with me. She also thanked me after I ordered and after I got the food. The food came out pretty quick too, but too bad it was not hot, just warm. You will save at least 2 dollars if you use the mail-in coupons, so don’t throw out all your junk mail if you want some El Pollo Loco. The entrance was a bit hard to find at first since it was inside the gas station to the right side of the 7-Eleven store. El Pollo Loco is one of my favorite fast food joints but it’s too bad the food here didn’t seem fresh, maybe because not many people come here and go to IN-and-OUT across the street instead?

Absolutely dreadful. I like the Escondido El Pollo Locos, but this place is a certifiable dump. Violations — Person taken the order was not familiar with the menu. Had to walk through what I was ordering several times. — Filthy disgusting salsa bar(with no cups). see picture. — No table service. — Undercooked food. Enchilada had completely uncooked/un-melted cheese. Had to get them to reheat it. — Found old, wilted lettuce at the bottom of my salad. — Bathrooms are filthy too. From top to bottom, this location failed in service, cleanliness, and quality of food. For grilled chicken in San Marcos please try Compadres grilled chicken. Horchata can’t even save this place.

Might be my last visit to this location, I have los compadres anyways. This place is known for the long wait, even if your just getting a drink. Last night I had a coupon for the gourmet bowl which they charge 8 bucks for and I paid 5. Let me tell you guys right now there is NO reason this bowl should be anymore then 5 bucks. Its beans, rice, grilled veggies and chicken. Small scoop of sc, guac, and pico de gallo. I got home and was eating it when I spit out a bite, there was a large clump of salt that had fallen into my bowl. It was soooo nasty. Not that great, and there is nothing you can get for cheap. Even a street taco is almost 2 bucks when I can walk to a street taco place and get authentic ones for a buck a piece. Yeah, so no more.

It depends on who is there. When Bertha is there my order is correct the salsa I requested is there and the portion size is what it should be. She is on it. On other days I feel like it is not the same, my order is wrong, the salsa is wrong and the portion size is not even filling the container half way. I read another review by someone else and yes I agree the restaurant lobby is not comfortable to eat in at times. I know they are busy but sometimes not all that busy. The tables are left dirty after people leave the salsa bar is dirty even empty when they do fill the containers up you get splashed with the salsa when they just throw it in there. I don’t even want to stay there and eat my food. I have worked at a fast food place before I’m sure many of the readers have but sometimes this lies with the management or owner of the location.

A promotion was received in today’s mail promoting the«Grill Master Pollo Bowls.» Ordered the Fajita Bowl. 95% of the bowl was tastless beans and rice, with a few pieces of chicken and two thin slices of avacado. The regular pirce is $ 8.95, the promotion price was $ 5.00. At the promotion price was not a good value unless you enjoy tastless beans. In addition, the promotion included a street taco free with an order of $ 5 or more. THEYREFUSEDTOHONORTHATPARTOFTHEPROMOTION. I have been a regular customer until now, not sure about future visits. Not all that. I rather have Chipotle or Rubio’s for the same price and better quality of a bowl. I came on a Thursday afternoon and it was completely dead. All the workers were goofing around in the kitchen and dining room. not quite professional. The food was OK. I ordered a chicken black bean bowl. The chicken seemed dried so I added extra salsa in order for me to eat it. The salsa bar options were good. Green salsa was the best! Also, there were some flies all around the dinning room GROSS! Made me feel uncomfortable to eat. Ended up taking my food to go. I don’t know if i’ll come back.

So maybe the management has changed, I’ve been recently coming to this location more often. It’s near my work and they have an impressive selection of salads. During my last visit the service was top notch. The cashier was attentive and answered all the questions that the customers had with a smile. Got my food quickly, it was delicious I had the Avocado salad. A manager came around and asked each table if their food was good. I didn’t expect this level of service from a fast food chain. My friends salad wasn’t as great as mine but they quickly offered her, her next meal on the house. I’ll definitely keep coming back!

For some reason at this location in the drive through the weight took almost about 15 minutes to get our food and we were the first car there there were no cars in front of us. I was a bit surprised, the layout of the El Pollo Loco. Is awkward because it attached to the gas station. And the only reason why this location is receiving three stars was just because the wait time. But I do have to say el pollo Loco as far as what they did with their menu they are definitely upgraded. This time around I tried their double chicken avocado salad which was only 380 cal and it weighed 13 ounces. It was a good volume meal and very delicious. If you’re watching your caloric intake definitely I would recommend eating at an eL Pollo Loco! In summary the wait time is the reason why this location got three stars but the food was great!

The food is tasty, IF you can get them to get your order right! I am a vegetarian and every time I order, I say, «no chicken, no Carne Asada, no shrimp, no dead animal…» what do I get? Chicken… It shouldn’t be so hard to get an order right, but every single time I have to go through this… If this review were based just on the flavor, and ther serving size, I would surely give it a 4, but it is so frustrating to have to go through this every single time I order… I hate to have to unwrapped my burrito in line, but I guess I will have to. :(

I went through the drive thru at dinner time figuring I might get a warm dinner. I ordered a tostatda with chicken and it was cold chicken it had about 3 beans and I don’t remember seeing any rice. I couldn’t even finish it it was so awful!!! Ill never go back!

Horrible. Husband’s burrito was COLDCOLDCOLD. He had it remade and it was cold again. My salad had huge chunks of fatty chicken and brown lettuce. BROWN! Very disappointed. Try to eat some what healthy while on the road and end paying $ 18 for a bad salad and cold burrito. Stay away from this location.

I couldn’t tell you the last time I was at EPL. I just ran thru the drive thru to get a couple of sides for my dinner & it took forever. There were only 3 cars ahead is me and it felt like they were individually plucking the chickens. Drive thru is supposed to be fast. It was well over 15 mins and it was not even a peak dining time. Oh well :(

I went through the drive thru as I was in a hurry(work lunch). The line took forever to get through, as in over 15 minutes with perhaps 2 cars in front of me. Maybe I was being impatient. I was up to order to be informed that their ice cream machine is broken and they no longer serve chicken nachos. Okay… I know, I know, I am suppose to be getting a chicken meal. The service was okay. The food tasted like it had been hanging out by the heating lamp for awhile.
