This is the best Mexican Restaurant I used to go here once a week. They had the best Lucys bean and cheese burritos and chips and salsa were amazing. Why did it close down? I have been trying to find them other places but no luck. I hope they come back.

Only real complaint is the price and that is the only reason for a 3 star rating from me. While being very pricey for the food, I have to say that the quality of the food is great. Shredded beef hard-shell tacos are great and their signature cabbage salad is always top notch. The one thing that keeps me coming back is the«red» hot sauce. I drink up a gallon every time, and if you eat in, they’ll serve you chips which are outstanding. Not sure what oil they cook them in, but the taste is something that you’ll crave, once you have them.

So last night we’re driving up olé 78 and we get the burrito hankering. I try to avoid anything north of Miramar if I have to but friend duty called and off we go, pulling off in San Marcos in hopes of finding something to scratch the greasy, tortilla wrapped itch. A sure fire sign that the place is more than likely gonna be weaksauce is when the only Mexicans in the joint are me and the employees. That should have been sign #1 to walk out. This was very Americanized, more than the average SoCal taco shop. I might as well gone to Chevy’s or El Torito which is NOT Mexican food. ok? I don’t touch the stuff. I value my taste buds thank you. The«super hot fire salsa» was anything but. I don’t do the hot sauce, yes, I know, what kind of a Mexican doesn’t do salsa!?. This one… deal with it. I am a pansy. My counterpart on the other hand is a pro and he said it was not super caliente, no es muy bueno. The rest is your basic taco shop combo whatnot. I had a carnitas combination plate and the meat was good but the rest was bland… bland rice, bland beans, bland. The guacamole was more onions and tomatoes. I HATE chunky guac. I ate it cause I was starvin’ Marvin and we were on a time constraint. Sadly, when I am thinking the Jack and the Crack across the parking lot would have been a better choice, that says a lot. Oh Pablo, you made me oh so triste… and I am not even going to go into the flatulence you brought upon my husband. good god.

This is the very best breakfast restaurant in San Marcos!!! The morning staff is VERY friendly. It has a view of the San Marcos hills and seems to block the sounds of the surrounding traffic. It is much better then the other locations that are in Vista. The breakfast specials beat Denny’s prices by allot. I beg you give this place a try for breakfast you won’t be sorry. Fresh salsa, all you can eat chips, and great tasting Ice Tea. You will be pleasantly shocked.
