A bit hard to find at first, well worth it once we found it! Look for the chalkboard sign curbside. Loads of buttons, jewelry, & silk flowers. Reasonable prices! Owner was very helpful in answering questions, and pricing If a tag had gone askew.

Cute store filled with antique furniture, baskets and outdoor items. A little on the pricey side but nevertheless a fun place to shop around for that unique item

Stacy the owner is very friendly and gave me so much new tips and I was oozing with ideas when I stepped out of her shop. Great stuff! I bought some antique reproduction book ends that were so so cool. I like to come in and browse all the time and I always feel welcome. Lots of vintage stuff, wrought iron furniture, mirrors, pieces from old buildings, accessories, chandeliers, containers, desks, columns… wish I had a bigger house…

During the last three years I’ve purchased a number of great items from Stacy. She has a great eye for antiques and vintage items. She’s also very creative in how they can be used. Stacy has a great selection and very good pricing compared to everyone else in the Bay Area. She knows her stuff about antiques. I make it in as often as possible because she frequently has new items in the shop. Don’t forget to check out the garage next door for additional items!

Dream is a hidden treasure of a shop! And the owner has a discerning eye with a knack for all things garden, vintage, quality, and unique… I always find the beautiful pieces for my clients AND myself. Go there with an open mind and let yourself be surprised by the unexpected pieces that will fit your home perfectly.

I am a big fan of DREAM. It is a charming unique place to wander and shop. I can always go in and find some unique gift. Stacy, the owner, has very unusual antique pieces and her displays are always fun too. Sometimes Stacy’s mother is working and she is charming as well. Stacy also has adorable french bull dogs and a new puppy, Scarlett! Truly this place is a gem in San Mateo.

UPDATE7÷24÷2010: The owner, Stacy, is very nice and helpful. I can see I got a bad day, sort of like going to dinner on Sunday when it’s the chef’s day off. This place is truly one of a kind, and has a lot of interior designer business for good reason. Stacy stocks old gates, ironwork, old doors! so hard to find in SF Bay Area, and many other vintage items. Her prices are the best I’ve seen in the Bay Area. I have my eye on a reclaimed, leaded window from a cabinet and it is very reasonably prices. ~ Ms. Ali UPDATE7÷11÷2010: The owner contacted me and that makes me feel better. This IS a cute store and I will probably go back and try it again, hoping for better service. I had such high hopes for this store! Always cute, always items outside and lots of traffic in and out for such a small store located in a weird, out of the way, industrial area near a lumber store and nursery across the street. Dream is within walking distance to my house, and I finally stopped in with another officianado of antiques. THEYHAVEREALLYREALLYCUTESTUFF! They also had someone working there that: 1. Didn’t say hello or indicate she worked there; 2. Was sitting on a chair; and 3. READING!!! When we finally figured out she worked there, she barely removed the book she was reading from her sight to answer our questions. When I asked for a specific item, she made random motion to a garage. It wasn’t until we were loaded into the car with our 2 dogs in their cages did we realize that she meant there was an annex to the store. Too bad! Someone else will probably get my business since Ms. Librarian couldn’t get out of her book. No matter how cute your store is, it does not, STOREOWNERS, MANAGERSANDCLERKSYOUNEEDTOGETTHIS: Nothing IN your store makes up for LACKOFSERVICE. ~Ms. Ali

I bought a beautiful antique armoire there for a reasonable price. It makes me feel good every time I look at it. The very nice owner helped me get it in my vehicle. A very good experience shopping there.

This is a great place for everything from little gift items to a whole new dining room set. Incredible selection considering the size of the shop. You couldn’t find the same items for such a good price anywhere else. Great service. If your looking for that special gift head over to Dream and I will bet you can find it.

Even though I own a store I also shop at other stores. I know right? I do love Dream. The selection is really interesting and when I’m looking to furnish a client’s home I always pop in to check the wares. I find myself lusting after giant antique mantles, very antique wrought iron fence pieces and chandeliers. The prices are in the upper stratosphere but if you’re looking for a specific French style antique or an interesting architectural tidbit, then yes, you should stop in. After you stop in and love yourself some Dream, you should move on down the road and come visit me!
