This is an excellent EB Games. The employees are always helpful and nice and some of them definitely seem to really be into video games which is a good thing! Some EB Games have complete arrogant douche bags or nerdy completely socially inept morons. So far this place seems to have neither. I’ve bought almost all my games gear for the past 3 years here. Only problem is this place can get crowded and cramped and the employees can’t seem to prioritize and handle the load very efficiently.

This is a place where an elementary school-aged girl can walk in and easily get serious, helpful service. EB Games is a chain store that manages to feel as if it’s a neighborhood store. That’s because the people who work there love games just as much as the customers do, and they’re happy to share advice, whether it’s their own experience with a game or the reviews they’ve read. Ask their advice. Every time I have, I’ve learned something. Okay, not impressive. Every time my kids have, they’ve learned something. EB Games has a great selection, and they carry games for many types of systems. My kids get games there for their Playstation, their GameCube, their Wii, and their GameBoy Advances. You can also trade in your old games for store credit or even for cash. You don’t get a whole lot compared to what you paid in the first place, but it makes a big difference to my kids, who are on a limited income. This also means you can buy used games, which are better than the new ones, because they won’t cost you an arm and a leg, just the leg. I have had one negative experience with the EB Games in Hillsdale mall, and that was when the Wii came out. I was given the wrong information and told that I could purchase one before they were released, and that I would be called when it came in so I could pick it up. Ha! Good store policy would have been to take ownership of the mistake, but even talking to the manager got me nowhere. I was told I could just go there each morning and wait around to see if any were going to be delivered. Since they made the mistake, could I get a phone call telling me one would be on hold for the next fifteen minutes? No. Could anyone tell me when delivery day might be? No. Could they explain to my children why Santa lied about presenting the Wii gift card and receiving a Wii gift? Am I still bitter? A little, but not too much. How developed could I expect the social skills of electronic gamers to be?
