Nubi Yogurt

While one of the flavors is titled «Dole Pineapple» it isn’t Dole Whip. It is a good substitute but it isn’t the real deal. It seems to have more water, giving it an icy texture verses the creamy texture of Dole Whip. When you’re nowhere near Disneyland, Disney World or the Dole Plantation, it will have to do to curb the Dole Whip cravings.

Really lives up to it’s 3.5 star rating. The yogurt is average and the toppings are okay. The only perk is a clean topping bar and a close location if you live in foster city. If you want more interesting flavors try yougurtland in Burlingame, I would say it’s one of my favorites in the bay area.

This place is pretty good, their cleanliness and flavor selection is what has me coming back for more. Whenever I have cravings for after dinner froyo I know nubi won’t dissapoint.

Very seldom have I ever been to a bad yogurt place, but today was my lucky day. After having dinner with my family we decided to grab frozen yogurt. This spot was along our drive home so we chose to go here.
First and last time I’ll ever go here.
–all the yogurt flavors are just something bad. I don’t even know if this stuff is yogurt since it just seems like powdered flavors and water.
dole pinapple — super watery consistency and I guess my expectation was something like Disneyland. (Dole whip?) but nope. Nothing like it. More like watered down bootleg pineapple popsicle. Not even Safeway Select version.
Taro tart — man. I don’t even want to review these flavors bc they suck. :(The end.
1 star for décor, other star for for the funny situation that left my family and I laughing before we left… (Some lady couldn’t make the machine stop so she left a gigantic massive amount of yogurt all over the self serve area and it was atrocious to see but hilariously awful at the same time. She just left it there too. I felt bad but it was so horrible I couldn’t help but laugh bc it was just something I’ve never seen before, good God. what a waste! But it was so bad it didn’t matter. mannnn. And my poor dad having called the yogurt girl over to call her attention to it was a funny too.) Let’s just hope less scenarios happen like that over there.

I came in here with some coworkers after lunch for some dessert. I sampled some flavors and the yogurt was icy and very watery. Good frozen yogurt to me has a smooth creamy texture but tastes light and refreshing. The redeeming qualities of this place was that the atmosphere is friendly and the toppings bar was on point (mochi, cheesecake, yogurt chips, fresh fruit)

To me, this feels like one of the common yogurt places in San Mateo. The establishment itself is very clean which an big upside to Nubi. The flavors that they rotate everyday are pretty good, but I don’t always thinks that their flavors are that great. The flavors that they don’t rotate out are more basic and execute better. The best part of this place though is the toppings here. The toppings are very fresh and the most enjoyable part of the frozen yogurt. I love the mochi and boba here.
Overall, definitely not my favorite establishment, but I do come here when I am in the area

This place is NOT good. Do not come here!
1) The consistency of the frozen yogurt is way too hard. It could barely come out of the machine!
2) The frozen yogurt does not taste good at all. The color of some of the flavors look totally artificial too (i.e. The pineapple, cake batter, and French vanilla flavors were all the same color — BRIGHT yellow). They need to ease up on the food coloring and improve the taste of their frozen yogurt!

I come here all the time right before they close and I get a craving for yogurt! Love the pomegranate raspberry yogurt!

Kids love it. Although I have to limit them to four toppings. or it gets too heavy.

Why the froyo at Nubi all tastes so icy and sugary? Froyo and sorbet are different, please.

Same as all your build your own fro-​yo type stuff. I had the original flavor.

Of the taro yogurt, my wife said, «this tastes like purple.» That pretty much sums up the artificial flavoring of their yogurt. At least the strawberries were sweet and real.

We used to be regular customers here, but after our experience this past week, we WILL NOT RETURN.
The yogurt that I got, Yellow Cake, did not taste right, very bitter and sour. After taking a couple of bites, I approached the 2 employees, told them what was wrong, and asked to replace it with another flavor. Their response: «You paid for it.» So, even though something is wrong with the yogurt, it’s MY problem? Answer: «Yes»
I put my yogurt in the trash can, and we will never be back.

fro-​yo guy here… san mateo nubi yogurt must be the mistreated stepchild… smaller self-​pump location… standard creations roughly under $ 5…variety of flavors, but test the pump first… first pump, liquid ooze… second pump, slower than watching a vine grow… third pump, just right… nubi tart it is… sweeter and mildly tart… fro-​yo toppings bar pretty standard… fruits, candy, etc… pay by weight…

Had a yogurt craving while at work and this place hit the spot!
Lots of flavors to choose from and if you ask for a sample, they let you do it yourself. Some places now do the samples for you and I always feel like I am a pain and end up not trying all the ones I want to because I feel self conscious.
Good selection of fresh toppings, the place was clean. And the gal working was sweet.
Will come back for sure :-)

I came here needing a sugar fix and this place totally did it for me. Found out that the had Dole Pineapple flavor and I was totally sold!
The place is super bright and clean. Always a bonus. Ask them for sample cups and you can try as many as you want.
I know they rotate the flavors every once in a while, but the ones I had that day were alright… The had normal ones like mint, vanilla, strawberry, and even carmel popcorn which was interested, but nothing really got me wanting to fill up a cup with it. The dole pineapple though was good and I got some of that topped up with mochi!
Overall, I like their full topping bar, but I felt like most of their froyo was too soft. I took my pineapple home and put it in the freezer for a little bit. The flavor of it was really good though, if if I were to go back, it’d probably only be for the pineapple.

It’s been a long while and an update is required. I think the 3.5 star overall rating this place has is spot on. Despite Yogurtland now being open in Burlingame I still come here because it’s so close to my home I don’t need to drive to get my Yogurt fix.
A few things:
— They rotate the flavors quite often now.
They went through a short period during the summer that they seem to keep the same flavors for a long time which being the peek time when people want Frozen Yogurt seemed odd but now they have a new one almost every 2 or 3 weeks. Current new flavors:
* Pineapple Bundt Cake (Low Fat) Creamy. Kind of states like Bubblegum to start.
* Blueberry Chocolate Truffle (Non Fat). Very odd combination that doesn’t quite work.
* Eggnog. Nasty! I’m not a fan of Eggnog but Yogurtland blows them out of the water with their flavor.
* Gingerbread. Also nasty.
I really like how they still have my favorite flavor — Oreo Cheesecake! They’ve had it for 3 or 4 months now and hope they keep it as one of their permanent flavors.
— Staff turnover is pretty high here. During the summer they hired a new guy who to put it blunt is an a$$. He refuses to give me my loyalty card stamps and recent experience with him at the till really annoyed me — After refusing to give me my loyalty stamps he decided to also keep my change. I paid with a bill and rather than give my change he simply put the note in the till, closed it then walked off into the room out the back with me still standing there! As it was only a little over $ 1 I didn’t bother making a fuss as despite it being self serve I usually put a little in their tips jar. Just since the experience I haven’t bothered when he’s on duty and seeing as I visit multiple times a month he shot himself in the foot there.
They also give out coupons now which you can use on your next visit — Buy One Get One Free & Buy One Get One 50%. I haven’t paid full price Yogurt here since they opened as I also get dozens of these coupons in the mail. Happy days!

Pretty good frozen yogurt with descent selections. On my most recent visit, I tried the pistachio and it was great.
The décor is modern looking with colorful plastic seats and two different bars with toppings.
As mentioned by other Unilocaler’s, the staff suck when it comes to interacting with customers. They don’t smile, don’t say hello, don’t do much of anything. Luckily, it’s SELF-​SERVE frozen yogurt, so you don’t need the staff for much.
The comical part is that the staff actually have a tip jar out… at a self-​serve froyo place! That’d be the equivalent of me tipping the gas station attendant after pumping my own gas. Hahaha… never going to happen!
Check this place out for the good selection of favors if you’re in the area.

The staff is typically awful. A few months ago I went in and the staff member was in the back even up until we were ready to pay (we had to wait). Last weekend, when I was about to pay, the phone rang and not only did the employee pick it up but he walked away in the middle of my transaction to continue the phone call… REALLY?!
The yogurt isn’t any better than other places and often the machines dispense really watery yogurt.

So, how does this place compare to other froyo places? In my opinion, not bad.
Here’s the low down:
1. Self serving froyo joint (pour out any combo of froyo, toppings, on your own)
2. Flavors: It varies, I’m sure, however they have a combination of both sweet and tart flavors. I noted that at the time I was there, they had: tart, vanilla, red velvet, coffee, taro, lychee (tart), peanut butter, pomegrante (tart), etc.
3. Toppings: graham cracker crust, nuts, assorted fresh fruit, mochi, cheesecake bits (yum!!),
Overall, a decent place to get your froyo on. Perhaps a nice dessert option after having lunch at Chipotle which is a few doors down: P
