The worst experience ever!!! Jim is a really personable guy and because of that you want to believe him but after more than a year of waiting for delivery of the furniture and hearing every imaginable excuse I finally had to take action. When I checked him out with the BBB I discovered he has a habit of taking peoples money and never delivering. He has had 5BBB compalints against him in the last 36 months. Who knows how many before that as the BBB only keeps the records for 36 months. I have met several other people who have had the same experience of his taking their money and never delivering. He has lost in small claims court repeatedly but has never satisfied the judgments. He continually switches vendors as they will no longer ship without payment. At first, we liked Jim. He was easy to talk and made some recommendations that we can use in our patio. After looking at other vendors in March, we decided to order a complete set of lawn furniture(~$ 5K) from him in April. Mid-May delivery was promised. He said this was easy since all the work was done locally. By mid-May, I received no call from Jim. I called and called for a week and I left 5 messages. No calls were returned. I had it, so I left a message saying that I wanted my $ 3.5K deposit refunded immediately. With that, I got a return call with excuses. Basically, he said his vendor was giving him the run-around, but he would make up for it if he had 2 more weeks. I agreed only if he delivered it to my house in 2 weeks from the day of the call. And if he couldn’t deliver, I would want my deposit returned. As of June 2008, Patio Classics has been served with Small Claims and BBB paperwork. Beware of his business practices! After researching, he’s got multiple small claims judgments against him, BBB compliants and problems. Jim will make claims that he cannot back up.
