An update: The shop owner contacted me a month later and offered to send the row by mail. I received the row and it is charming. The owner was very nice in the correspondence and did include a discount. I have upgraded my rating because they do have some nice patterns and fabrics. For me, they are between two stars, meh and three, A-OK.

I just love this inviting quilt shop. They have a ton of fun fabrics and what they don’t have often times they can order. They also have the best teachers in the bay area and caring and patient staff that can assist you no matter the challenge you are taking on — in your quilting adventure.
If fabric is your passion — then this is the place to check out … all high quality compared to other places I have been. I think that the staff makes this store unique. You will never feel lost or anonymous in this shop.

I went to check out this store as admittedly a beginning quilter. The quilting instructor minding the store was very friendly and helpful. While they do not have a large selection of fabrics, what they do have is very nice. Expect to pay around ten dollars a yard, which is consistent with online prices for quilt material. I like the selection of Asian fabrics there. I really appreciated that they have a beginning quiltmaker class on a Saturday instead of on a weekday. The class is economical when you break the cost down per hour and at the end of the class I will have new skills and will have finished a quilt. The location is easy to get to and when I went on a Thursday afternoon there was plenty of parking. They have a nice selection of books and quilting patterns.

Beautiful, high quality quilting fabrics and friendly, helpful service! This is a great new fabric and quilting store with so many fun and beautiful fabrics, including gorgeous batiks, Asian-style prints, novelty prints, in every possible color combination. They carry very high quality brands. The store also offers quilting books, patterns for quilts or bags, and notions. I love to shop here and plan new projects! Definitely worth checking out if you love to quilt or sew all cotton fabrics.

I was excited to see a new fabric and quilting store open in San Mateo! The service was very friendly, and the store is large and clean and well-lit. They have a great selections of fabrics, and quilting books and patterns. There is also a lot of jewelry made by the owner.
