Probably the worst Starbucks experience I’ve ever had. The space is nice and big but what’s the point when all counter tops are covered in spills and sugar and the garbages are over flowing? 1. My sandwich wasn’t in tact, Ham and egg outside the buns, cheese stuck to the bag. The barista who packaged the sandwich put it on the hand off table which was COVERED in spills so the bag I had was pretty disgusting, wet from coffee, water, fraps… What ever else was on there. 2. I asked for some sriracha packets from the barista by the pick up table where I picked up my sandwich and he gave me the evil eye, no confirmation, no word at all. I stood there waiting not sure if he heard me or I should go talk to someone else? He then asked someone who was restocking to get me some. 3. She was nice enough to get me 3 but one of them was covered in blue and white slime… It’s what happens to their expiration stickers when they get wet, they start to dissolve. So she got a sauce packet that had a dissolving, sticky blue and white goo on one end for me to use. Thanks. Bad experience overall but thank you to the girl wearing a red bow for the kind service at the register.

Prime location, long line, decent Starbucks coffee, hit or miss with fresh milk. This location is superb, next to the San Mateo downtown park, where you can have your coffee & peaceful walk. I like Starbucks mainly because of the convenience and great reward program they have. Although, baristas are constantly changing here, so the quality of your coffee is highly dependent on the experience of your barista. A bunch of newbies were hired recently, it might take a little bit of time till the drink quality and hospitality will rise again in this location. One lovely feature Starbucks app has introduced is ordering a coffee from your computer or app. Make sure the location option is activated to get an order button. User experience is still horrible, but it will get there. The real kick is that you get your coffee for reals in the estimated 3 – 7 minutes! Enjoy you coffee!

I’ve been reframing from writing this review for the sake of sounding snobby but, the baristas DON’T know the difference between an Oprah Chai Tea and an Oprah Chai Tea Latte let me explain myself… First two incidents I did a mobile order of the latte and came to find just the tea. The first time I didn’t have enough time to wait for a new drink, second time they fixed it. 3rd and 4th time I ordered just the tea and got lattes… Not sure if the abbreviation is too similar but common… 5th time my coworker came in to get me a tea specifically told them not a latte and came back with a latte. NOTE: They are very attentive and do fix the issue when you bring it to their attention. However after the 5th time I figured it was time to conclude that they need to train their Bautista better on this particular issue.

Small, but has a lot of coffee beans. They also sell a few reserved coffee beans. Not a bad location, but not many chairs and tables, so it’s quite small. You can sit outside though, so I suppose that’s ok.

Dirty and messy! Had been craving my usual, and I happen to be close by watching a softball game. Completely disappointed!!! Ordered my usual Cinnamon Dulce Latte Frap, apparently they didn’t know how to make it! It took my 3rd choice to make it happen! The cashier was nice but still disappointed. At least my drink was good!

Saw bunch of fruit flies in display where the pastries are kept. I told a barista about. The response was«fruit flies are harmless; there is nothing we can do.» Uhhhhh. Such horrible standard. I will stick to just drinks then. Pastries should be free from bugs, and yes you can clean the display to get rid of the flies. Heading next door for my pastry then.

This is the first-time visit after they reopen the store. It’s extremely slow. It’s only one guy making the drink and four persons working on the cashier.

Little ally next to noah bagel. come on sunday after lunch, long line and move very slow. The restroom was out of order and the place is a bit old and a bit not clean but acceptable. The good time, the coffee barter is very nice and funny.

I feel like this Starbucks has okay service. They don’t have a lock on their bathrooms! So people can go in to the bathroom while your doing your business. the lines are always super long and the tables are always full. It’s super loud in there. The coffee is good that is the only reason why it would get a 3 star.

I was throughly disappointed with the staff at this location. This last Tuesday, I had to visit this location instead of my El Camino store. A few things went badly all of which are related to service. 1– I asked for my Pink beans to be ground. They were, but the next day my morning coffee was brown water. I looked at my grounds and the water had made a straight line through the grounds to the plastic bottom of my metal filter. First time this has ever happened to me. 2– I always have gotten a cup of coffee with the purchase of my beans. When I asked for it since it wasn’t offered, Tracy(I think that was her name) rolled her eyes and said they don’t do that anymore. When I asked if the policy had changed she said yes. When I said that the three other stores I go to offer the cup, she again roller her eyes. So I paid for a cup. 3-When I got my car, I almost through the bag of ground coffee in my trunk. Right before my fingers let go, I noticed the bag was not folded over and some had spilled out. I go back and show the cashier, and another gal at the espresso machine said said loudly, «don’t worry» about three times. You know that tone that is patronizing and usually irritates customers? Sadly, Starbucks has a poor reflection because of there poor hiring and training. Happily for me, the El Camino location should reopen soon. There is still something to be said about management and service recovery. So in conclusion, Policy varies by store, management at subject store location is poor, staff are obnoxious and patronizing and to top it off, you might just need to make a second trip to get your original order rectified.

Service is so slow. It should not take almost 15−−20 minutes for an americano. I see plenty of people working but the line and wait for drinks is ridiculous.

This is the worst Starbucks location I’ve visited and anyone that knows me know I need to get my Starbucks drink every day. They made my drink incorrect I had to have them remake it. This store is very dirty and I have been to several starbucks around the country. The bathroom was filthy. No toilet paper, no seat covers and tissue all over the floor. Stuff smeared in the seats don’t even want to know what it could have been. Wet toilet paper stuck all over the top. This was in the early morning too so it tells you no one has checked that bathroom that day or probably days. Will definitely not return here again :-(

I like this place. It’s usually crowded, but I always manage to get a seat. It’s pretty clean considering how much traffic they get – don’t judge them for the fairly perpetual small cloud of flies in the front of the shop. They leave all the doors, including the large sliding ones, open a lot to take advantage of the fresh air outside, so some insect life is to be expected, no? It’s not like Peets on 3rd – they’re judicious with their AC here rather than blasting it all the time. The baristas are pretty nice, and they remember me – and my absurdly complex drink order. Overall, one of my favorite Starbucks locations.

One of my favorite place to bring Maya for a cup of coffee. They have an indoor dog friendly hallway right next to the store where they setup tables, so no need to be in the sun or wind just because you want to bring the dog along. It’s also a great place to socialize the pup, since many people pass through the hallway. Do be careful about the crumbles on the floor, if your dog likes to eat whatever she finds. As for the coffee itself, it’s a Starbucks, so expect Starbucks coffee.

Always crowded staff very friendly makes up for the wait. Always busy with dogs waiting in the walkway kind of odd it’s not a pet store or a dog park. As long as they are not barking, fighting, or biting they don’t bother me

I had a last minute meeting planned with a fellow UCSD alum in San Mateo to talk shop and we decided to meet up at the local Starbucks. I only saw one or two tables outside so I questioned the pet-friendliness of this location but after sitting down indoors, was shocked to find that this might be the pet-friendliest location ever. I ordered a Café Vanilla Frappuccino and as you might expect, it was pretty tasty and got me wired up for the meeting. That was all well and good but I’ve got to rave on about the awesome dog situation here. There’s a sort of covered hallway from the street that opens into Starbucks where it seems like everybody and their mom was sipping their coffee with their pets. It was clearly the place to be and I’m definitely coming back with the pup next time. Food: 7⁄10 Service: 6⁄10 Price: $ Atmosphere: 8⁄10
