If you’re the person that loves to work all day just so your bank can steal all your money, this is the place to come. I thought after Safeway there couldn’t be worse customer service. I was wrong!
I use the texting system where I get a text message with my new balance every time a transaction in my account has been made. It can be annoying but it is a great way to really keep track of your money. Anyhow, I kept receiving text messages, and every time my balance kept getting smaller. The last text my balance was so low that I KNEW a big amount of money had been withdrawn. I look at my online summary of transaction and I see over 20 transactions of fees all about overdraft services. What in the world is that? Turns out, when I opened my account at Wells Fargo, the banker decided to just add many extra services completely without my permission. I didn’t even know that I had it or what it was. I called to cancel the services.
The other day I went in because my card was stolen and i needed to get it replaced. Asha Kumar was the incompetent to help me. Not only did she NOT get my card replaced, but also readded all the services I had canceled!!! Again, without my consent, I mean WITHOUT EVEN TELLING ME!!! I mean literally, this bank should be sued! So many people have lost a lot of money due to services added without their consent. This IS stealing!
On top of all, they have the worst customer service. Every time I go in to get help they’re all busy and I mean sure that’s understandable, but they will not even TRY to get you help. Basically make an appointment if you want to be considered. They’ll always say they will give you a call another day which never happens. And they will leave you on hold on the phone for about 20 mins when you try calling them.
I will be closing my account with them as soon as I’m off work, and I highly recommend you do so as well.

Thanks Wells Fargo for freezing my grandmas account and not paying her rent. Sarcasm is thick with this one. How can you freeze an elderly persons account on a whim like that??? What is wrong with you people!!! If it was malicious intent we wouldn’t be worried about her rent getting paid, now would we?

I’ve banked with Wells Fargo since I was 18. I recently closed my account (4 years later.) Here is why, they’ve closed and reopened my account over 7 times without consultation. I would usually find out after being charged a certain fee for not meeting my new account policy. I had one banker tell me that it was bad for my credit to be reopening accounts, I explained to him what was going on and he let me know they have bankers who mess with customers accounts because they need to meet a certain limit of activations by a certain time. Fuckers. Also, I asked that they do not withdraw any money or make any payments if I had zero balance to avoid overdraft fees. And what do you know, 100 $+ in overdraft. I had to have overdraft protection removed twice since they kept adding the unwanted service. My last balance statement had a $ 35 overdraft and $ 10 monthly fee. I work two jobs so I don’t have time to walk in and talk to them about how much they suck. Long story short they mailed me a letter stating they had closed my account and I had to pay $ 60 or I would be sent to collection. I go to Wells Fargo to pay the stupid fee and they tell me I have to re-​open the account to process the fee than they would re-​close it. Wow. Worst service ever.

Foster City. Worst bank branch ever. Mgr. is always on vacation, Ass’t Mgr. is on break, staff gives wrong information. No respect for long time excellent customers. Has happened so many times. Branch personnel should be replaced with competent personnel. Save yourself lots of trouble and time. Go somewhere else!

The best bank in the world and Irene Jara is the best! I’m writing this review in behalf of my wife Jennifer who just open an account and received a very excellent and accommodating service and helped all the way by Irene Jara. She is very kind and professional.

I’ve been banking with Wells Fargo for almost 2 years now. I thought I had written a review when I switched over from BOA to them but evidently I have been remiss… After a couple of decades with BOA, I made the switch because BOA charged me for a Cashier’s check even though I was their customer. Go to WF to cash a check so I can go back to BOA and get a cashier’s check and WF waives the fees and issues me a cashier’s check with NO FEES (It’s like customer service at Nordstrom!). The very next day I closed my business and personal accts at BOA and I have never looked back.
I have only ever gone into this particular branch because it’s walking distance from home and work (I know — I’m so lucky!)
The staff is always super friendly and nice. Doesn’t matter what day of the week or time of day, everyone always has their happy on.
Professionalism is awesome.
The attitude in this branch is that everyone is always in a good mood; it seems like everyone is happy with where they work and who they work with.
They’re open on Saturdays from 9−6pm! Seriously.
Today I stopped in to get a temporary card because I had an issue with a fraudulent charge. Asha Kumar helped me and she was simply AWESOME. Friendly, kind and helpful. Just an overall lovely experience.

I don’t even bank at Wells Fargo but I came in today, Saturday because I needed change and Chase was already closed! All of the tellers were so nice and they all greeted me upon getting in line!

Worst service in Wells Fargo history. I have been banking with them for 10 years and usually use the Foster City branch, but was in the area and decided to stop by 4^th ave. Every 2 weeks I cash out the same check and deposit it. All of the sudden, today the day before a long weekend there is a problem. Asha Kumar was the rudest and most inconsiderate supervisor I have ever come in contact with. Not only did she not make an override and cash the check, but she made sure I had less than enough cash to last until Wednesday, which is when the deposit will clear. Never again will I come here. I understand Wells Fargo has policies, but they were never upheld before and if you can’t take into consideration that the check has cleared each week for the past 2 years than you are stubborn and should not have a position in management.

The person who welcome me was very nice and friendly, but the teller-​Aoife maybe had a real bad day. No smile and look very mad. Scary. Even though she said thank you and have a great day, her tone was still upset or not in a mood. Have a have a better day tmr. It seems this location is very busy, but line move very fast plus it has a lot of parking spaces.

One of my checks did not go through and account got overdrafted by two small payments. Wells Fargo charged me $ 35 twice to pay my 2 $ 3 purchases. So, 2 cappuccinos cost me $ 75 now. I deposited the funds and asked customer service rep — Robert Hoffner (I believe) to remove the charges. There was no customer service at all: no «let me try», not «let me talk to manager», nothing. Cold «I will not be able to remove the charges if it is not bank error». Thanks a lot, Robert. I’ll try to bank in another branch… or another bank altogether.

5 Stars for today’s experience: Excellent parking on the side of the building. No wait, Cashed a check, got quarters for SF parking meters, nice and sharp teller, got a complimentary cup of coffee and went on to spend my money at the Trader Joe’s next door.
4 Stars for overall retail banking and business services. Wells Fargo has you-​get-​what-​you-​pay-​for-​services. Checking accts can be free with low minimum balance compared to Chase. Want to be able to view deposited check images online? You’ll have to pay for that. Free with Chase.

I was trying to get a banker and notary public to close my Wells Fargo credit application at this location. However, NO banker available and NO notary public available! WHY? Because no banker won’t get the credit for this loan application when it is just a courtesy signing! All of 10 bankers and 3 notary public are not available at the same time! 2 notary public is on executive lunch, got for more than 3 HOURS lunch meeting! And the only one left consistently have customer and never have a chance to return a call in 5 hours period! I am really shame on myself to return to Wells Fargo to give them business!

One of my favorite branch to visit. Friendly customer service, friendly greeter, what more can you ask for? And I never had an issue with their ATM. The only problem I have with this branch– is parking. I can never find parking!- then again I have the worst luck with parking. Thanks for the awesome customer service! Keep it up!

I come here fairly often to use their ATM machines. Sometimes I pop inside to grab a roll of quarters or deposit a special check. Its definitely a huge branch and sometimes there’s a line (inside.) But usually things flow relatively easily and I get in and out quickly. No complaints as I’ve been banking with WFB about 20 years now.

Honestly… I dont bank here. They hold our mortgage and I drop off the payment for my husband sometimes. I bank at SMCU. Wells Fargo has nice enough staff but I have found somewhere that treats you like a friend.

I’ve only used the ATM out front, but what a machine! It accepted my card AND dispensed money.

Awful service. We went in to set up a wire transfer for a very important transaction. We were told that all systems were down (understand things happen) but to fill out the form and that it would be processed the next day. The individual who helped us said she would not be there the next day but would leave the form with her manager to process and said we would receive a call to confirm. Never got a call and the transaction never took place. I called the next day and it took them forever to answer the phone. Once I was able to speak to someone, I was told that they could not find the form that was filled out nor did they know who the form had been left with. Needless to say, very poor service.

The employees here are definitely nice. They shouldn’t get less stars for this, but because I have to consider it, they do… compared to other Wells branches, this one isn’t as nice. I went on a wednesday mid afternoon and found it pretty empty. Wells fargo does a great job in making sure their customer service is good — which it is. compared to other banks, this is quite refreshing.
this bank also has lots of free parking which is very convenient in a downtown area that usually charges. i was in and out in no time.

As an establishment Wells Fargo clearly uses their clout to do whatever they want. I applied for a student loan with them because I’ve been a loyal customer for 6 years. I applied on a Wednesday and called them on Monday only to be told the process NEVER went through. OK… I have a confirmation e-​mail saying everything was fine and I would be called if they needed anything. No call… I HAD TO CALL.
They run my credit right away when I’m on the phone. Awesome. I’m declined. Why? They say I have not been employed at one location long enough… OK, I graduated recently so I guess that’s fair? I get a co-​signer, and we send in our paperwork and we’re told to electronically sign the promissory note. I sign mine electronically and my co-​signer attempts to sign but the website says the application is finished. Co-​signer calls to make sure it went through. NOPE!!! No, it didn’t. But we can’t sign electronically anymore!!! Once you’ve submitted you can’t do it again. Wow, already TWO issues with their electronic system. WONDERFUL!!!
I’m instructed to go to a physical branch to have them print out the promissory note so that I can sign it, then FAX it to my co-​signer and have them sign it, then fax it back to the student loan center. So efficient! I go to this branch and two people tell me that they don’t handle student loans. And stop talking to me like everything was resolved… SO HELPFUL!!!
So I call the damn student loan center while I’m there and talk to them and they say they’re going to e-​mail it over to the branch so they can print it out… They made me into THAT CUSTOMER that hands their cell phone over to the employee across the desk. They made me into the fuming, nasty customer that has their arms crossed while the irritated and embarrassed associate is holding their phone!
So after they print out the papers for me, I sign them and ask them to fax it… which they do. But go figure, hey, they neglect to fax the FIRST page, the page where the signatures are needed. So now, I’m going to have to find a a fedex-​kinkos to fax this over and get it all corrected.
Long story short, Wells fargo freaking sucks. They run you around in circles and they don’t communicate well enough to get their facts straight. They don’t even know each other’s policies. How can they send me to a branch and have the branch tell me they do not perform the actions that I was sent to get performed for me? Isn’t one of the huge down falls of a company the whole «he said, she said» B.S.
It’s going to hurt my credit score to just close my accounts, but I’m switching banks. And also, I’ll make sure everyone I know that EVER asks me which bank they should open an account with or use for any financial services I will say, «Well, I can tell you which bank NOT TO USE.» That would be WELLS FARGO!
