This place is a local watering hole for the Sanduskians… Stopped in here after a cedar point trip to watch the Buckeyes. It was short staffed and absolutely PACKED! Cameo is the kind of bar where you can tell locals are treated like family and out of towners… Not so much. Now, I don’t expect royal treatment but when I say service was slow I mean it was slooooowwwwww. Our«waiter» who was also the bartender and everyone else’s waiter, even forgot part of our meal and tried to charge us for it. He was apologetic and definitely removed it from our tab but it was just an annoyance after having to wait so long for food and drinks. Only thing saving this place in my mind is that the pizza was AMAZING! No doubt about that. So, I at least left with a full and happy stomach.

The hands down best pizza in the Sandusky area, always make a point to try to and stop in when in town.

We came here as a result of my recommendation after seeing the tripadvisor reviews. Although the venue seemed like it was in, well not necessarily a seedy area but one that seemed too quiet and out of the way, the interior at least to me was more inviting. I really liked the bar area that was adorned with flat screens and had the true sports bar feel. As most of the reviews raved about the pizza that’s what we ordered. It was a 15″ pie half pepperoni the other half pepperoni, green peppers, and old world sausage. I found it to be delicious and definitely in the top 5 for best pizza. The other two in my party felt how the pizza was cut was unconventional and also not cut too well. I personally didn’t mind it and liked how it was cut. In any case I feel overall we liked the pizza and the establishment. The service was also good and friendly. I’d love to come back to this place to watch an Ohio State game… and of course for the pizza as well :)

Great pizza very very poor delivery time. Was quoted 30 to 45 mins waited over an hour. Called twice and finally canceled my order, then the driver calls me asking where I live. I’ll go in and eat but not going to have them deliver ever again.

We went to Cedar Point for a few days and didn’t really have a clue where to eat as far as local fare went but I am in the habit of asking the local people where they like to eat when I am in a new town and did so while we were in town. This place was recommended by more than one person that I talked to and we decided to give it a try. The pizza was very good. It has a unique crust that is like no other pizza that I have had. It was also extremely affordable! Try the Chicken Ranch Pizza. It was outstanding! The regular pizza was also excellent!

Excellent. We stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge but I didn’t want to eat their overpriced, mediocre food. I discovered the Cameo via Unilocal.Cameo seems to have been a Sandusky institution for 60+ years and it’s easy to see why. Fast service, very inexpensive, and some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. If Cameo was in Milwaukee it would be our go-to place. Thanks for the great meal, Cameo!

I just received an e-mail from Unilocal stating my review of this place(done a few years ago) was removed because it «lacked substantive consumer experience». They requested that I limit my reviews to actual experiences that I had with a business. Well, I actually ate at Cameo Pizza and I didn’t think it tasted much better than frozen pizza from the store. We were in Sandusky to fish on Lake Erie and wanted pizza. Cameo was advertised on a billboard so we went there.

I usually order online and pickup and have no problems but tonight made me decide I was never going to eat here again. My husband picked up my order and came home only to find that there was part of my order was missing. I gave them a call and explained there was missing food and asked if they could deliver. They proceeded to tell me that they didn’t know if anyone was going out that way(mind you I live in town). They put the manager on the phone and she explained that both her drivers were out and had no idea when they would return. Can I just say, my husband went there to pick up our missing part of our order and the same 2 delivery drivers, were still in the same spot as when he picked up the original order. No apology no I’m sorry no empathy. Just rude. I work in customer service and I don’t expect any comps just show some empathy! This is a small town and your business relies on the locals

Called in an order, they said 45min to an hour. Ended up being 1hour and 30minutes. I called to complain and instead of an apology or anything they tried to make excuses so I said we would pay for the pizza but not the delivery fee. Got the pizza and took a bite, room temperature, not even warm. We could tell by the flavor that it would have been really good hot or even warm but by that time I was too tired to call again and complain, especially since they obviously don’t give a shit about their customers. Tips to the company: new management and more delivery drivers.

Pizza is very delicious! We had this pizza delivered to our room at Hotel Breakers two nights in a row! Love the sauce, right amount of cheese and the toppings are substantial! I also loved the unique way they cut up the pizza… so long and narrow that it’s easy to slide in my mouth.(that’s what she said).

In town for a few days with my kids and had a craving for pizza. Used Unilocal to locate pizza and found Cameo. This place sits in a residential area and seems to be a favorite amongst locals. Great place to watch sports as there are many flat screen tv’s. I rank this place pretty high as pizza goes and I’ve been to many pizza places across the country. Sauce and dough made fresh. Good beers too!

Something about this oven, magic comes out of every pie it puts out. Don’t get crazy with toppings, keep it simple and eat slow.

Cameo Pizza is without a doubt my favorite pizza place ever. We vacation here every summer and always make sure to include at least one meal from Cameo before we depart. The White Chicken Pizza is simply amazing!

Cameo is as good as it gets. I have been going there for 14 years now since meeting my husband(who is from Sandusky). I have travelled a ton and tried many types of pizza. A Cameo Chicken Delicacy can’t be beat. Add sauerkraut balls and I am in heaven. Sure, over the 100 or so visits, I have had a bad service experience once or twice. When a place is busy there will be the occasional forgotten order. It happens. If it happens to you I encourage you to go back again. Odds are good you will have a great experience on your next visit. Last weekend our family suffered a great loss when our patriarch passed away at the young age of 91. After decades of Cameo visits from scores of family members, the only post-funeral option for us was a visit to the Cameo. As expected, the pizza, the owners, bartenders and waitstaff made everything just a bit easier. Loving Cameo in St. Louis, MO.

I’m from CA and was in the Sandusky area on business. Cameo’s was recommended to me as the best pizza in town. I stopped in for dinner and took a seat in the bar area of the restaurant. As far as food goes, the pizza was great! Although I can’t vouch for the«best pizza in town» part i can say that this was the best pizza i’ve eaten in quite a while. I was disturbed though by the atmosphere in the bar. This place is advertised as being family friendly. In the area I was sitting in there were a few lound drunks(possibly regulars — they were on a first name basis with much of the staff that wandered out here) that were very irritating. Loud, profanity laden comments on non family friendly topics(abortion… coat hangers etc…) were very off putting. I’m an adult with a family. Had I been here with them I would have had to leave., i’ve heard this stuff many times before but I was hoping to have a nice dinner at a place that bills itself as family friendly. No management came in to quiet these conversations down and the bar tender was engaging in much of it. Although the pizza was good the atmosphere left a very bad taste in my mouth.

Here’s what’s wrong with Unilocal. We went to the new«Brick oven» place today and it was fine. But it’s no Cameo. If I’m going to drive in to Sand Town I want epic pizza. Cameo is epic. «Brick oven» has all five star ratings. Cameo does not. Yet Cameo is better. I guess people like the newest thing. I’ve been going to Cameo for 25 years. It’s the best pizza around hands down.

Was in town on vacation to Cedar Point and ordered Cameo Pizza to be delivered to our hotel. Great pizza — tasty sauce and tasty cheese. Delivery was prompt. I will be ordering from them again.

I know I’ll get a lot of flack for this comment, but here it goes. Pizza is usually pretty good no matter where you eat it. Maybe my standards are pretty low, but I can tell you one thing. Any pizza my son will eat and eat multiple slices of, WINS. No joke, the kid hates food. So this place clearly fit the bill for my need to get calories down his throat. Winner, winner pizza dinner! We were visiting the area and brought a few pies back to our vacation rental. We all grubbed and nothing was left to waste. They cut the pizzas in strips which makes it easier for little hands and mouths, too. Also, it makes you feel like you’re less of a chunker eating so many slices. Why? Because you lose count. Cameo is a winner in my pizza-loving book.

Great food. We usually always get the pizza because its so good. If you’re in Sandusky and want pizza, this place is a must. My family drives 45 minutes to eat here. Plus now they deliver too. Only problem is that they only do dinner at don’t open til at least after 4 pm on Sat. Its not too big, half is bar and the back half is tables You have to due three steps into the place so its NOT handicap friendly.

After a long day at Cedar Point we ordered in pizza delivery to our hotel room. Service and delivery was fast and friendly. The pizza was fantastic– that had the most delicious cheesy crispy bubbly crust. I ordered the Popeye Special. and we were really loving the flavors of the cheeses with the spinach and chicken breast!
