Service was good, food was OK some people’s food was hot some not so much. Didn’t take long to be seated or get our food and our server was nice and friendly.

Normally a Cracker Barrel is a favorite for breakfast. We arrived just before 9am Memorial Day for breakfast and the place was pretty empty. We were seated then ordered our food and waited. And waited. And waited. After my 4th cup of coffee our food arrived. All 6 of us were given stone cold food. Having 2 small children and a nonexistent waitress we picked at it. When the waitress finally came back I asked for the manager and the bill. We waited. And waited. And waited. Finally I caught her and managed to get a bill. I asked where the manager was and she said both managers were busy in the back and wouldn’t talk to us. What a joke. Worst Cracker Barrel I’ve ever been to.

I’ll be honest: if I had written this review prior to last weekend, it would be a 5 star review. No doubt. Now, however, with another recent review highlighting the same problems I ran into recently, I unfortunately need to write a review that talks about what this place usually is — while also offering a word of caution as to what seems to be going on during its less than ideal days of operation. The 5-star Cracker Barrel that I normally know and love is great because, well, it’s your standard Cracker Barrel. It’s a tasty protein and carb-tastic treat that my friends and I often indulge in after visiting Cedar Point for the weekend. The food is typically delicious all around, and even the healthier substitutes recently added to the menu taste great(making it much easier for me to avoid a mega overindulgence of Cracker Barrel fare while dining here). Plus, the kitchen is normally super quick, and the staff staff kind, attentive, patient and very helpful(noteworthy as the group I visit with is known to include young children). The result of these combined points is that average meal here is tasty, quick, and just what my friends and I need before we hit the road and head back home after visiting the area. Not a bad deal at all, I’d say. But, after last weekend, I unfortunately left feeling less than impressed with what is normally a highlight in my Cedar Point weekends. The normally attentive staff were non-existent, at least at our table, where we were never checked on and drinks went unfilled for most of our visit. We experienced a 40 minute wait for our food to be prepped — when the restaurant wasn’t even full. And after all of that? Most of the people at our table were brought food that ranged from cold to downright inedible! At the end of it all, while we had walked in at 9:45 that morning to a pretty empty restaurant, we didn’t even receive all of our food — including the fixed versions — until after 11:00am. And in at least one instance the«fixed» meal included over-cooked bacon and the wrong style of eggs entirely. Kind of the opposite of the great service and delicious dining I’m used to experiencing here. We left with the frankly dreadful meal comped, thank goodness, as we spoke to two managers about the wait and cold food. Hopefully, they take the feedback seriously. But I’ll definitely be dining with caution here during future trips, until it’s been proven to me that whatever kinks they’re dealing with behind the scenes have been addressed and the normal level of awesome has been restored to this location.
Stopped in for brunch before heading home. It’s a nostalgic environment — very old school décor. It has a nice homey feel. In the restaurant, the one thing I loved was the high chair they had. It’s really hard to have a booster seat or highchair where my toddler was comfortable in and theirs made her feel apart of the table. Perfect height for my toddler to eat. Their food was good. Nothing special about it. My husband didn’t like their grits or gravy. He said it was basic. Their coffee was not good. It seemed murky or watered down. The food prices were awesome. Not too expensive for the home cook meals you receive. There’s a store connected to it so we were confused walking in. The store sold old trinkets and knick knacks. Over all, I liked it. It’s a good place to have when going on a road trip.

The food was terrible never go again to this place. Sunny side Eggs were dried out, hash brown was like a carton box. Go to Perkins on the other side for breakfast they have awesome dishes and much cheaper.

For some reason, made our party of 3 wait 20 minutes for a table when there were 10 separate empty tables. Minimal attention paid by staff. Cold entrees. By far my worst experience at a Cracker Barrel

Standard Cracker Barrel, great service, great food. If you been to one, you know they have great breakfast. We shared French Toast, Pecan Pancakes, Blueberry Pancakes, eggs, bacon, taters, browns… it was good. The warm syrup is always a bonus too. I would go back if I was in the area.

Always look forward to our Cracker Barrel stops since we don’t have any in California. Haven’t found anything I don’t like here.

Went here on my way back from Cedar Point. The food was amazing. Never a bad experience here. The staff was really nice. The food came out fast and the lemonade was fresh.

Horrible! We are visiting Sandusky for a mini-vacation and decided to stop at Cracker Barrel for a late breakfast. I am usually a big fan of their food and service. This experience was awful! We were seated right away which was great however our server was very slow. Got our drinks fine then waited 10 – 15 minutes to have our order taken. Once we finally got our order in we waited 45 – 50 minutes for our food. I am talking played the table game 30+ times and the games on kids menu and watched other tables seated after us get their food first! We contemplated leaving but were all so hungry we didn’t want to have to start the process over somewhere else. Once the food finally came it was disappointing also. I love their pecan pancakes normally and you’d think they could’ve really mess those up, well wrong. My husbands food was horrible too! We arrived here shortly after 11 and didn’t leave until 12:45. This wasn’t even any time browsing the gift shop or anything. Just getting seated, waiting… waiting, eating and then leaving. Needless to say we left a very small tip in comparison to what we normally give servers and would NEVER return here should we be back this way!

Cracker Barrel provides a large variety of homemade foods. Meals come with a variety of sides. The waitress was very friendly and attentive to customer needs. The food was served in a short time and cooked to order. Cracker Barrel also offers a variety gift shop in addition to the restaurant.

This is my husband and I first time being at this Cracker Barrel in Sandusky, Ohio and they didn’t fail to disappoint. We enjoyed every delicious bite of our breakfast and will definitely come here again in the near future. Our server Suzy was the best. She was very attentive and friendly. Keep up the good work Suzy because you’re AWESOME!

We always eat at Cracker Barrel when traveling as a tradition. But service in Sundusky was terrible. Our food took 20 mins to arrive and they even tried to charge us for buscuits when we asked for some while waiting for our meals.

Great. I usually don’t have a problem with most Cracker Barrels I go to. Though it’s a chain restaurant, they try to maintain that homebound feeling. However, today, as usual got the Mommas Pancake Breakfast. Love the pancakes at every Cracker Barrel and today was no different. Waitress was really nice and regularly checked on us. No complaints.

We waited at the table for 50 minutes before food was was served. The restaurant was about 1⁄3 full but we were told the managers were working the grill. We finally received our food after asking about it serveral times only to have the roast beef cold and the salad that we ordered full of rotting lettuce. We asked for a manager and it took awhile to be seen. She apologized and said that they were short handed. She offered to comp the entire meal but my boyfriend insisted that we pay for the two meals that came out OK. overall bad service and bad food. Maybe it was just a bad night.

I haven’t been to a Cracker Barrel in probably 20 years and it’s just as I remember it. Bland, salty, old people food. Some might try to pass this off as «comfort food», but its not comfort food because comfort food is good. CB is just old people food, like the kind of food they serve at an old folks home, a hospital, or an assisted living cafeteria. Meatloaf was huge, salty and otherwise tasteless. Mashed potatoes, boring. Fried okra, flavorless. Cornbread, traditional not sweet in the least… dense salty and flavorless. Mac and cheese tasted like wallpaper paste. The dining room and store are full of dust covered odds n ends; most of the patrons are dust covered as well. Only come here if you have to. I gave it 3 stars because our waitress tried really hard and was very nice.

Visited here after a trip to the Merry-Go-Round Museum. It was a standard Cracker Barrel with pretty decent service. The food came out quickly, which was great since we had young kids with us.

Pretty sure that it was our waiter’s first day on the job — the menus were in disarray when we first sat down, he was reprimanded by another waitress about how he was pouring our coffee, he had to go find someone to ask the soup of the day, he got one of the orders pretty much 100% wrong, he messed up the receipts 3 times and had to keep coming back and forth with new ones, and just generally seemed pretty flustered — whew! I actually didn’t find any of these to be a huge deal and felt bad for the guy as he was quite nice and I didn’t think he deserved to be scolded in front of customers. Other than that, the meals were good though I wish mine had been a little larger. I think mine was called Big Mama’s Breakfast and it consisted of 3 pancakes with butter and syrup(incredible!) 2 sunny side up eggs(made from small eggs, this was finished within several bites) and a measly portion of bacon(maybe three strips, though the bacon was thick and very tasty). I suggest adding a couple more strips of bacon in there, and maybe it should be 4 pancakes instead of 3 to really fill the diner up. That would make the meal perfect. I was pleased to see that our Chinese checkers board had all the pieces, as did the boards at several other tables around us. Usually when I am at Cracker Barrel I have to search the empty tables for a complete Chinese checkers board because most are missing pieces. Lastly, I am not the hugest fan of the tacky store in the front but most Cracker Barrel stores have an amazing item: old-fashioned individually wrapped lollipops, of which BUTTERSCOTCH and CINNAMON are my favorite flavors. I always snap up several when I am at a CB, but at this location, NOLOLLIPOPS! I searched and searched and was a little disappointed not to find them, particularly since I wasn’t totally full yet. Luckily I had an emergency bag of tootsie pops waiting in the car, but this was definitely a bummer. In all, this place is a solid A-OK. Good luck to the nice new waiter!
