Dan’l Webster Inn & Spa

We booked this hotel on Priceline and my initial thought is that I would be upset if I paid $ 229 a night for a room here.
The check in was easy and when we went to our room, the AC unit was making a loud noise (I think room 37?). Also to note, the view from our room had basically torn down materials hanging right outside of what was supposed to be our window — it looked like someone just forgot to clean up. Pretty sloppy. We went downstairs and expressed the issue with the ac unit and they (to their credit) did promptly put us in another room (room 40)
The room seemed nice and the beds were comfortable. However, the walls here are PAPER THIN. I guess there was a wedding party at the hotel and they returned to their rooms very late and we could hear (word for word) the conversation as though they were standing next to us. It woke us all up and was pretty annoying and carried on for a good hour.
We did have dinner and breakfast at the hotel and those meals were wonderful.
My biggest concern was that I booked this hotel because they were supposed to have an onsite fitness center. When I arrived, I was told that they open at 9 AM on Sunday. 9 AM? Most people who want to run /​exercise on the weekend are looking to do that early — not to have to exercise and hurry off to shower and get ready to be checked out at 11… I guess they have run into this problem before since they did have (again to their credit) day passes for a local gym. I was pleased that they had a work around, but not happy that I had to drive 15 minutes there and back in the morning as a result of the hours that they had imposed on the fitness center. If they are going to advertise a fitness center on site, it should have good working hours that are convenient for the guests.
Overall I liked the ambiance of the hotel but I would not stay here again.

I love everything about this place! Very historical feel, clean rooms, the suites are beautiful and the jacuzzi tubs are huge and right in the bedroom. The food is excellent in both the rustic tavern and the main dining room, which features a lovely waterfall and koi pond. Great staff, very friendly.

Our stay at the inn was most enjoyable. The inn is lovely and Sandwich is a charming town. Our room was comfortable and was simply but nicely furnished. The bed was very firm yet soft enough for comfort. The only real drawback was that the television had to be pulled to hand off its wardrobe shelf to be seen from the bed and the remote control could not be used for the bed as the console was blocked. We enjoyed room service one night, an excellent cheeseburger that was delivered promptly, hot and by a very nice server. Breakfast in the main dining room was very good and reasonably priced although the service was spotty. The restaurant is pretty with its greenhouse windows and small garden. The Tavern is a very cozy spot and seemed pretty popular at all hours. Here again, the service was friendly but could have been a bit more attentive as the bartender disappeared for ten minutes at a time.

A classic, colonial luxe inn, set to a backdrop of a classic Cape town, The Dan’l Webster does not disappoint on any score, and will have you coming back again and again. The rooms: spectacular, old-​world décor mixed with modern luxuries — the heated bathroom tile, the oversized shower, the en-​suite hot tub! The bed, my god, the bed: a four-​poster oak affair, so high you need a stool to climb in, the most comfortable tempur-​pedic mattress, and luxurious Egyptian cotton sheets. We got the winter romance package, which involved a lovely cheese and fruit plate as well as a bottle of wine.
I can’t recommend this place enough for a romantic getaway. Success.

A very nice historic inn/​hotel, and probably one of the best options if staying near Sandwich. The room was large and comfortable, but could have used a few more electrical outlets (perhaps not surprising for a historic inn). Friendly service, and a very good onsite restaurant.

We arrived at Daniel Webster Inn after a long day of driving and visiting relatives in MA. We decided to have dinner at the Inn rather than going out again to find a good restaurant. Well that was one of the best decisions we’ve made in quite some time. The food and service were beyond our expectations. We were seated in a glass enclosed conservatory with beautiful hanging plants and a waterfall outside the window. What else can I say an absolutely perfect experience from A to Z. By the way our room accommodations were also superior.

We stayed in the Webster suite for our anniversary. It was the perfect place to stay, dine and relax in a romantic atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond and exceeded all of our expectations. We will be returning for year to come and will recommend the Inn to all of our friends and family.

Great place to stay. Short distance to the beautiful Sandwich Boardwalk and beach. Nice outdoor pool, wonderful spa, and the restaurant is incredible.

This is my favorite place to eat on Cape Cod. I prefer the tavern with the cozy fireplace or the rustic bar area. The food is incredible and reasonably priced, as are the drinks. Bar service is always friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. I had breakfast in the atrium during the winter time and the view of icicles hanging in the garden was just gorgeous! The breakfast was fabulous too. I always make it a point to stop in at the gift shop — there is always something unique to buy. The one time I stayed overnight, I found the room to be surprisingly somewhat tacky in its décor. Regardless, I would definitely recommend the restaurant.

Beautiful suites with a quaint and welcoming atmosphere. The spa is excellent for massages – do try the couples’ massage. The restaurant has a nice wine list and very good food. The room is lovely, much like a solarium.

We had brunch here twice in the past couple months. Same exact results both times.
The food hits the spot. You can stay simple with sausage and eggs, or step it up and get breakfast quesadillas or breakfast pizza. Feeling like french toast, the bananas foster french toast was epic, and enough to feed and army. Actually, all of their dishes are on the generous side — you will not leave hungry.
The pizza is 7″, comes with eggs, a cheese sauce and whole milk mozzarella. You can then add your choice of about 15 different toppings for anywhere from 75 cents to a dollar each. Even though the list is limited to those 15 items, it seems like the kind of place that will toss on whatever you ask for. All the items on the table, both times, were delicious. It seems like you would walk away satisfied no matter what mood you are in. In a quesadilla mood, they gotcha covered, want ten pounds of pancakes, you will walk away happy, and so forth.
The atmosphere in the dining room is nice. The window out to a little goldfish pond and small garden goes up through about half the ceiling. It would be pretty amazing if it were to snow while here, quite cozy.
Where they need help, is the service. It was lacking on both occasions. The first time around the fella messed up the order. In his defense he caught the mistake on his own and had it corrected, but it resulted in sitting there for about 40 minutes before any sort of food arrived. That wasn’t as big of a deal, we had more of an issue with the empty Bloody Mary glasses. Both the first waiter and the subsequent waitress we had last week seemed to mechanical. Pick up the food from the kitchen, drop it off, and never come back again. Continue to walk by the table dying for more drinks until we have to wave you down. Part of being a waiter or waitress is hustling to make that money, and the higher that bill goes the more you’re going to get. I’m not saying you blindly point the patron to the highest priced item — that’s not cool, but there is money there waiting to be spent, just check the glasses. Especially if you have the one table in the place that is really enjoying the Bloody Mary’s. With that said the servers were polite, just weren’t any good.
If you’re looking for a satisfying sit-​down breakfast in a homey atmosphere where you can order a drink, this is your place in Sandwich. Just don’t wait for the server to come to you, you’ll have to get their attention for that next round. We’ll definitely come back, but the service drops it to 4 stars.

That Daniel Webster Inn is elegant and old but it’s time for some updating, fresh paint and new furniture. The restaurant at the Inn was not a five-​star restaurant and the food is a bit pricey but tasty and nicely presented. The service was very poor to say the least. I don’t think we will be rushing back.

Dinner was great and the service was amazing. Our waiter was super friendly!

historical inn with wonderful service and modern amenities. very accommodating. my dads picky with his room so they helped us find a room he liked (third times the charm), helped us settle in, and even phoned to make sure we were satisfied. cant imagine better customer service!
definitely a fan of the melt in your mouth chocolates that were left on the pillows. its the small things that make a stay great! and tea, coffee, and cookies are provided between 3 – 5 in a cute reading/​tea room. parking is easy. and the inns within walking distance from cute shops.
the restaurant has a great vibe. id recommend dressing in non-​grubby clothes. food (breakfast & dinner) is delicious but not to die for — especially given the price. however, if you order/​are seated by 5:45, theres an awesome early evening menu that provides soup/​salad, entrée, dessert (limited selection), and coffee for an amazing and reasonable price. also, the ambience is a definite plus. the inn/​restaurant appeared to cater to a more adult/​elderly crowd. breakfast isnt complimentary but the inn does provide a $ 15 credit.

The Inn was very nice, we stayed in the Jarvis Deluxe Suite. It was very nice, heated tiles, jacuzzi, temperpedic mattress, tons of pillows, a kuerig machine, wifi and it was nice and quiet!
My only problem with the room itself was the jacuzzi wasn’t very strong.
Also, the inn had a nice little gift shop. Can’t wait to my next visit!

Went here for a wedding this May and stayed in a standard room. As others have noticed, the décor is very «old school Cape Cod» and while it seemed a bit kitch it did add to the charm of the whole place and after having been to a few similar etablishments in MA before I’d have to say that this is one of the nicer restaurant/​inns out there that fit this genre.
PROs:
*The atrium they held the wedding reception in was breathtaking, especially when it got dark out and the fairy lights above the room were the main light source over the dance floor. Really elegant and perfect for my friend’s special day.
*Food served in stations for wedding guests was delicious even though the portions were a bit small.
*Perfect spot in Sandwich. We got in early and were able to walk around and take in the little shops and local charm. Pizza slices at Emilia’s down the street were fantastic.
*Spa on site, wish I had known ahead of time so I could’ve booked a massage.
*Amenities: There was a Keurig in the room! If I had known we would’ve brought some of our preferred k-​cups from home. Also, nice bathrobes from the spa are in the rooms to use.
CONs:
*The bathroom was something else. The paint was light pink with what looked like «smears» of brown and green scattered around. Those colors in particular I don’t want to see smeared on bathroom walls. Ick. Also, the bathtub fixtures (the faucet, area around the sliding door, some of the caulk) was dirty and mildewy. Gross. Water temperature also fluctuated a bit when showering.
*No wifi for guests. For almost $ 200/​night in a quiet town I want complimentary Internet, darn it!
Overall, nice place but I wouldn’t be too keen on staying the night again unless absolutely necessary.

Got the one night stay LivingSocial deal and it was perfect for what I was looking for.

This was everything I wanted (and more) for my Valentine’s day getaway.
We stayed in a Jarves suite, and it was so nice that we didn’t want to leave the room. I’ve never slept so well in my life (temperpedic king sized bed, oh my), and the heated tiles in the bathroom really took the cake.
We decided to have our Valentine’s dinner in the restaurant downstairs and were pleasantly surprised by the food. I ordered oysters casino and the halibut off of their special menu. The casinos were so good that I almost ordered another portion, and the halibut was really well seasoned. Their wine list and cocktail menu was very extensive and we had a hard time choosing! We were seated in the observatory room, overlooking the gardens, and it was BEAUTIFUL even mid-​winter.
I will definitely return and have to try out the spa. Unfortunately, we didn’t stay long enough to check it out.
It was a perfect getaway spot, and the AAA discount was generous.
I would definitely recommend having a wedding here. There is something here for everyone.

Went here for one night, and arrived early. They had no problem giving us a room a 1pm, though check in is at 3pm. Our room had some noise problem, and the maintenance guys were friendly and accomodating. They put us in a new room, which turned out to be an incredible upgrade without any additional charge. The upgraded room was HUGE, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Their pool area is nicely decorated with many different plants, and there’s a big fence that provides some seclusion from the adjacent parking lot. If you have allergies, be aware there are lots of plants near the pool.
The bar at the Dan’l Webster in is fantastic. It has a tavern feel, and the bartenders are friendly.
We had a couples massage at the Spa, and it was worth the cost, IMO. expect to spend a bit of money at the spa.
I would definitely consider staying here again! I could see this place as a great option for weddings.
