Ribs are great. Fall off the bone. Collard greens are excellent too. I’m definitely going back and sticking with the ribs.

Okay … so based on the reviews, I really really tried to like this place. I really did. I still do, but only because of one thing: the service. Each time I come in, the staff greets me enthusiastically and quickly. And you never have to wait a long time for your meal.(To be fair, I have only ordered to go plates.) However, this review comes after selecting a variety of items each time I have ordered. And in comparison to other«Country Cookin», «Southern comfort» or «Soul Food» establishments, it simply doesnt measure up. In fact, I’ve had more flavorful broccoli cheese cassorole consistently at Picadilly Cafeteria than I have had here. And I am not Picadilly’s biggest fan either. While probably more nutrient rich, being a mix of broccoli and cauliflower, it is inevitably just those two vegetables mixed together with a ton of processed white cheese. And I like cheesy casseroles, ALOT. Speaking of sweet potato/carrot soufflé(ala Picadilly), while Roasters wins points for including candied pecans, its the overwhelming amount of flour in their recipe that kills the taste for me, making it heavy with a weird aftertaste. The cornbread rolls are made with a more milled version of Jiffy cornbread mix. The yeast rolls are good but not great, same goes for the fried okra, fried green tomatoes, as well as the collard greens. And finally, the peach cobbler: this may be a personal preference, but I prefer a pie or cobbler crust to a crumble/cake crust. If you’re a big peach cobbler fan, you’ll take it how you can get it. Yet, I have had it twice now at Roasters and while its okay, I dont see myself craving it in the future. In my hierarchy of go to comfort food places(Busy Bee, Carvers, Big Daddy’s Café), I’m afraid that Roasters food has not met the expectations of a place that consistently gets great reviews here on Unilocal.Great, quick, friendly, service but kind of basic food.

«Why don’t we just go to Roasters?» –Every Sunday, deciding where to eat lunch. I am so in love with this neighborhood joint. My boyfriend has been coming here his whole life, and when I moved to Atlanta 6 years ago, I quickly discovered why. Fast friendly service, fresh delicious food. That’s not a paid advertisement, my friends. That’s straight-up Roasters style. My favorite thing to order is the Chicken & Veggie Quesadilla. It’s packed with vegetables, and not just your typical onions and peppers — there’s broccoli and corn in there too, y’all! I get it with the pico de gallo on the side instead of inside(tip I got from a water the first time I ordered it). It’s SO good, even without the chicken. (That’s right! Vegetarians can eat here too!) Boyfriend always orders a Combo Plate with ¼ Dark Meat, Baked Potato and Creamed Spinach. Considering he has literally never ordered anything else in years, I think it’s safe to say he enjoys it. Other delicious items: –Grilled Chicken Sandwich — Nothing fussy. Just fresh, juicy chicken on a warm bun. –Black Bean Soup — One of the best I’ve ever had. Maybe it’s the andouille? –Chicken Balsamic — What my boyfriend’s mom always orders. It’s a family that knows what it likes. If you live in the area, you already know Roasters. If you’re visiting, drop by and see everyone in town. You won’t be disappointed!

Definitely a fan of this place. I’ve always enjoyed going here with my family, for years. Amazing chicken, great environment for family. The menu is very simple and great for kids, whenever I’m nannying I take the kids here and they LOVE it! Great environment with great staff. Food is fabulous. It took a little while for it to come out but it has always been worth the wait!

Nestled in the outdoor strip mall anchored by Trader Joe’s with plenty of parking; this Roasters location is no different than its sister Lenox one. Super fast, attentive and friendly service awaited us when we stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. The décor is somewhat stuck in the 80’s and the restaurant needs a major makeover. But, it was still very clean and well Maintained giving it a casual, unpretentious atmosphere. The place is very well run and the staff where observed on the ball pumping the plates out fast and with no rush. The sweet corn bread basket brought to the table upon ordering is very addictive in taste and there were scooped up really fast at the table! The half rotisserie chicken and baby back rib platters were outstanding as usual; as were the sides of steamed broccoli, Mac n cheese, corn stuffing and sweet potato soufflé. The chicken soup is also very memorable and oozes«made on site — home made!» The one issue with This location is the fact that it closes at 9pm on a Saturday! In a big metropolitan city, this is a no no and, come on Roasters, it’s the weekend! Why not 10 or 11pm like every other restaurant in town??? A small blemish for an otherwise outstanding meal experience; will definitely be back!

Ohhhhhhhhhh how did I not know about this place until now!!! I waited about 20 minutes for a party of 1 so you know this place was packed. I could not choose! So many options, especially the side items. I chose the Blackened Mahi with macaroni and cheese and broccoli & cauliflower casserole. I know I know… too much cheese. It was soooo good. The macaroni was on point! Did not taste like the Blue Box Blues at ALL. The broccoli casserole was tasty as well, not very well seasoned but it was good. I would try something else next time. Ok so the Mahi Mahi… a little too tough for me. But it was enjoyable. It was a huge piece so I was able to take most of it home. Let me tell you about the cornbread muffin. My LORD that was some good cornbread. Clearly this restaurant appeals to the Southern Belle in me. I’m definitely coming back and bring some friends to gauge their responses as well LOL.

ok. this place is legit. great food at great prices, great customer service and very clean restrooms. plus, the manager comes around and checks on every table. the chicken is the best rotisserie chicken i’ve ever had! don’t even put sauce on it. it’s a star in it’s own right all the sides were delicious but, the sweet potato soufflé is amazing! i could marry it seriously. the manager even let me try a piece of rib since it was my first time. this place is awesome u have to come try this place! i promise u it’s worth your while

Roaster’s is a simple pleasure– they don’t make much use of, say, goat cheese or even arugula lettuce. That said, it’s a fun place with lots of options that runs very well. The rotisserie chicken is very good, as are the side dishes. The creamed spinach in particular is extremely tasty. I like the Santa Fe chicken, without cheese, if I’m trying to eat light. The pico de gallo sauce, rice, and chicken really combine to form a nice package. The fish tacos are good, too. Come to think of it, I’ve ordered and enjoyed more different dishes at Roasters than at most of the places I go to, where I have a tendency to stick to one or two favorites. I suppose that reflects well on Roasters. The facility itself is unpretentious and comfortable, with lots of parking. All in all, this is just a place I find myself going back to again and again.

Food is really great here. Service is to notch and the manager is very diligent. We were grated by the manager as he was doing his rounds, which gave a very warm welcome. Foods came out promptly and tasted great. Recommend the sweet potatoes soufflé.

The food and service was fantastic! Service was very quick. The manager constantly made sure that our needs were being met. We had such a wonderful time here. Definitely recommend this place! Location/Parking: Roaster is located in the Sandy Springs North Shopping center, right next to Johnson Ferry Road/Roswell Road. It’s in the same area as Trader Joes. Parking should never be a problem. It is huge! Atmosphere/cleanliness: The interior was not unique/outstanding, but the place has a really cozy feel to it. I saw a lot of families/elderly couples when we went on a Tuesday night. Our table was clean and the bathroom was clean(which is always a plus). Food: We ordered the Spicy Spinach Cheese dip as a starter, which was great.(It wasn’t spicy at all ;)) I ordered the chicken finger burger with a side of sweet potato soufflé. The sweet potato soufflé was DELICIOUS!!! Best soufflé I had hands down! My four year old ordered chicken fingers w/broccoli and loved it. I seriously can’t get over how good that sweet potato soufflé was.

I got a combo plate of ¼ dark and bbq pork with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. The ¼ chicken was amazing, the pork was good, both side were delicious. We can as a party of 17 and they quickly rearranged tables to accommodate us. We only waited 10 minutes. They put lots of bread baskets on our table, corn bread was incredible. Should of asked for some to go. I will definitely be back here again.

Roasters: an evolved Boston Market. I noticed this location of Roasters when I was visiting the Trader Joe’s in the same plaza, and have been itching to come back to this closer location for a while. I have only been to the Buckhead location, which has pretty rave reviews. The parking is plentiful. Shared parking lot with Trader Joe’s and other small shops. On a Saturday afternoon, we had a large group so we got split into two tables, which isn’t bad since there wasn’t a long wait this way. After we were seated, our server got us our waters quickly. After taking our orders, he offered us complimentary yeast rolls and cornbread with butter(free refills if you request it, I believe, but we didn’t ask). The popular order at our table was the quarter dark slow-roasted rotisserie chicken served with their homemade BBQ sauce with two sides. I was hoping to get a third side, but once I found out the side would be $ 2.25, almost a third of my meal’s price, my mind changed real quick. I chose the creamed spinach and the cucumber salad. The cucumber salad was amazing, drenched with a dill dressing and dressed with red onion and diced tomatoes. The creamed spinach was just perfect, and the single piece of dark chicken left me wanting more… All this for 7.25? A steal. I love Roasters and you can see me back here in a heartbeat.

The food and service are great, I have been been eating at roasters for over 20 years and never had a bad meal. You can’t beat the price and the quality. Can’t wait to go back.

Roasters(originally Roaster’s Rotisserie Chicken) is one of the first restaurants I was introduced to in Atlanta(the location was off on 400 at Northridge Rd — which has been closed for many years so most of you won’t remember it). I then became a fan of the Lenox Rd location and now this location on Roswell Rd near where I work(Perimeter Mall area). As with the other locations, this one is very busy serving locals for lunch and dinner. This location has become very popular to my co-workers, since I introduced it to them about three years ago. The menu from 10 or so years in the past has changed quite a but — back when Roasters meant rotisserie chicken, the focus was on the chicken — ironically I thought the best item on the menu was the full rack of pork ribs — these aren’t the smoky ribs you find at most BBQ joints, but rather the fall-off-the-bone kind — the original prices for a full rack was around $ 13 — it was quite the deal, but of course those days have long gone bye. The menu now has reasonable prices, a lot of variety, tons of veggie options and large portions. You also come to Roaster’s for the bread(the cornbread muffins are exceptional, in my opinion, and the yeasty rolls aren’t too bad either!) I went through most of my favorite options in my original post on Unilocal(see below) so I won’t spend any additional time on those comments — unfortunately we were ravenous so I didn’t get any photos of the food as it hit the table — the selections included: Fried Chicken Finger Platter, Turkey and Dressing, Salad with Rotisserie Chicken and a Veggie Plate. Please read the rest of my comments below. The only thing I have to add, this location is fantastic in accommodating larger parties — I think the most we’ve brought from the office is around 11. Service was super fast, even at that size and the wait wasn’t more than about 10 minutes(we did hit the restaurant at 11:30 so if you want to do something similar, time it right and call ahead like we did).

Roaster’s is a locally-owned southern style restaurant with 2(Lenox and Alpharetta) other locations aside from the one in Sandy Springs. Very homey feel inside and warm. Private lot and plenty of parking. Waiters were pretty attentive. Rolls, cornbreads, and buttahhh were served to munch on before the entrée came out. Those rolls are crack. Mmm mmm. ENTREE Rotisserie Chicken Salad: the highlights of this entrée were: the chicken, juicy and tender, and the refreshing chopped cucumbers. Yum! Santa Fe Chicken Salad: my friend got this and it looked exactly the same as mine. Only difference were the rectangular tortilla chips added. Still good but meh. It was my first time trying this place out yesterday with a friend and I really enjoyed it. Although my friend and I were craving salads, we got the chance to speak to the manager as he was walking around to check on the customers and he recommended the ribs and chicken tenders for the next visit. He even let us sample some ribs. They were slidin’ off the bone good. Definitely looking forward to coming back!
