K1 Speed

First and foremost there’s a really weird, eerie vibe about the place as soon as you walk in then we were greeted very oddly by a little blonde girl with glasses who later denied us service to order a pizza because she was «too lazy». Besides, they need to make the pricing A LOT more clear, expect to pay more than the $ 20 if it’s your first time. All this and we waited over an hour and watched several people who got there after us, race before us. Go karts were alright, about all this place has going for it.

Was pretty excited about this place but sadly the customer service was super poor. Will not be returning.

Terrible service attitude, they stop the racing so often cause they put so many kart in one race and some staffs are so rude, they yelling at customer. Don’t waste your time and money in this place

Terrible customer service, and terrible racing. My kart was very bouncy. And we stopped nearly every lap it was terrible. Do not waste your money. Other racing placed are better.

NEVER SEEN SUCH A POORLY RAN BUSINESS. We came here for my son’s birthday. After purchasing a three race package, we were then told it was league night (not on website) and we’d have a 45 minutes between our 1^st and second race. Okay, not ideal, but we planned on grabbing food between races. We came back for second race, told we’d have a 20 min more wait. It’s now be 3 ½ hours since we first walked in the building and have not started our second race. We have been told so many excuses and have witnessed incredible INEFFICIENCIES. My birthday boy in tears as well as other customers equally as frustrated and upset. Very disappointed!

We came here to do a birthday party for a bunch of 10 year old girls. The racing is cool they loved it. The rest of the experience was not so cool and we would never come here again for something like that. First of all
It’s pretty pricey, they make you pay for 8 racers minimum but it’s supposed to cover pizzas drinks plates etc etc. they charge extra for anything more than 1 pizza. Pretty crazy considering what you spend. Two of the tables in the party room collapsed and we almost lost the cake. All in all you get a fun time and they racing is worth it but never for a bday party.

Wow was thus fun! I was on vacation with my family and didn’t know of any activities that all of our ages would appreciate so leave it to my fellow Unilocalers to lead us to this gem!
Easy to find off the freeway and nice big parking lot. The first impression Inside is awesome with comfy leather looking couches, tire tables with glass tops and fun chairs that look like race car bucket seats. There is even a race car in the entryway! So very cool.
Easy process with computers for each person to enter their info in quickly and pay at the end of the counter. We did the 3 race packa he each and saved I think $ 11.
Everything is clean and not too noisy to watch. The track was easy enough for beginners like myself but you can get enough speed going for people like my husband who drive ferraris on the Las Vegas speed track to enjoy it too lol. ** top speed on these is 45mph*** but it seems like a lot faster.
Definately will come back here every time from now on that I am in utah!!!

I’m not really a go kart kind of guy. I mean, I’m not super into cars, I don’t have kids, and I’m 30 years old. So yeah, not really my thing. But we and the entire sales team at my work found ourselves here for some morale boosting on a Tuesday morning. What better way to start your day? It’s obvious this place is more geared towards the birthday parties of 10 to 14 year olds, however on this fine occasion, it was a group of male adults.
I lost, repeatedly… by a significant margin. This wasn’t the cheapest outing by any means, but the employees are kind, the establishment is clean, the statistical keeping on your laps is fun to go over at the end, and they have every flavor of RedBull. So all in all, it was a fun time. If you can afford it, bring your kids here, or throw their next birthday party here. Bring a flask though, they don’t have alcohol for the adults, although I imagine if you wanted, you could probably get weed from the employees.

A friend and I went here for the first time the other night and it was a lot of fun and we left smiling. I had only two items to note:
1. I wish they had lockers to store anything you have with you… coats, purses, etc. Since they don’t, travel with only the bare essentials and what will fit in the pocket of your jeans.
2. At the end of the evening, the carts were losing steam and one died all together during our heat, meaning they stopped us and that person had to go get a new cart while they removed the one that had died.
All things considered, will definitely be back!

Came here with a work group for a team building activity. I was apprehensive because I’m a very risk adverse person, but it turned out to be a great experience. Mario Kart skills do not transfer but the staff here did a great job at making me feel safe and helping me do my best on the course. I was able to knock my lap time down from 30 s to around 25 and felt good about that for a first try go karting. Worth a try but more physically draining than you might expect and uncomfortable for taller folks.

This right here? Yeah, this right here is MY track away from home. It’s as good as it gets in Utah – hands down, no question about that. I’ve gone through great lengths to drive throughout the US to visit tracks. Indoor go-​karting places around Salt Lake County have difficulty prospering. There is a car and motorsport community. Unfortunately, those Utah natives I’ve had the pleasure of racing with don’t seem to utilize indoor speedways as a more affordable means of practice, as one would often see in Cali. I don’t quite get it but Utah’s community has its own endearing qualities.
Compared to other indoor karting facilities I’ve been to around Utah, the crowd at this K1 is several notches above the Utah norm. The people K1 attracts tend to be more serious and constructive drivers. I’ve had workers who have spotted me and actually helped give me tips on where I could be shedding off ¹⁄₁₀ of a second. It’s not going to be the same crowd that you’d see in other states, where you’re frequently racing alongside national champions…
This location is SO SO SO much nicer than most K1 Speeds because the track/​kart/​facility/​equipment are all newer. The track is HUGE with a decent course that I’m still trying to figure out. I definitely haven’t plateaued yet, but it’s also because this is the best track in the area so I’m savoring it and purposely limiting frequency here.
Prices are relatively more inexpensive than other K1 Speeds found in California, Colorado, and Texas. There are also Groupons and daily specials for this place – so get on it if you’re on a budget! They can accommodate parties here too!
The customer service is great here! The times I’ve been here, the manager and staff have always recognized me and would try to get to know me. The course workers (from out of state) would also tell me where I can improve my time, which I really appreciate! Wait has never been long for me! There were times that I had the track to myself also! I love it.
Tip 1: If you’re new to the area, they do Sunday Cars & Coffee at Sweet Country in Draper! No, it’s not the official Cars & Coffee International… I assume they’re just borrowing the catchy name. You won’t find the huge array of supercars you’d used to see back when Irvine, CA used to have Cars & Coffee (but there is a community and it’s fun to just find common ground).
Tip 2: There is a height minimum, so leave your 4 foot nothing kids at home! Also, after you race, you can track your K1 scores online (the race history will always stay).
Tip 3: This is the first K1 I’ve ever rated 5 stars, but it is a Utah 5 star. To my visitors from California/​Texas checking out my other reviews for K1, I would rank this place more like 4 stars if we threw out the location aspect.
