Cheeburger has been one of our favorite places on the island for years. When I went gluten-free a few years ago I was disappointed that I wouldn’t be able to enjoy Cheeburger anymore. At most places that offer a gluten-free bun on their burgers it’s not worth it. It’s usually better to just order the bun without the burger because the buns are so dry and thick. But not at Cheeburger. The bun is thin enough to be edible and soak up some of the amazing burger juice. It said online that it was an Udi’s bun, but this one seems much thinner than the typical Udi’s bun. I’d highly recommend the GF bun to anyone who needs to eat GF.

Great burgers you order differnt sizes up to a 1 pound burger but the 1⁄3 pound is pretty big and reasonably priced. Good fries and onion rings. EXCELLENT milkshakes thay are big enough for 2 people. I got the banana chocolate and it has actual banana in it. Very tasty. Has an atmosphere and decorations of 1950s to it and feels part museum which is cool.

It was well after lunch time but we were anxious to get to Sanibel Island so didn’t stop to eat until we arrived and ended up stopping here. The name really describes the majority of food offerings — hamburgers or cheeseburgers. However, there are a few other items on the menu but not many. Milkshakes are pretty popular and just about every flavor you could think of is available. After we were seated, we waited quite a little bit for our server to approach the table. The other couple we were with were sharing a salad, cheeseburger and fries. The salad was brought with only one fork so they also shared the fork. The angus cheeseburgers and fries were excellent. It’s a good old fashioned burger with any topping you desire. We all tasted the coleslaw and none of us liked it. It was very different and we never would have known it was coleslaw had we not been told. We had quite a wait again to get the server back to our table with the bill and then quite another wait getting her back to process our payment. We would return even though the service wasn’t great. We just wouldn’t order the coleslaw.

«Cheeburger» not«Cheeseburger». This Space Mountain looking burger joint had one of the best burgers I’ve eaten in southwestern Florida. The prices are reasonable for being on Sanibel Island, the staff was polite, and the atmosphere was pleasant. What’s nice is you basically«create» your own burger as well. There are over 50 toppings you can choose from and an assorted menu of of milkshakes. If I’m on Sanibel Island, this is where I’m going for a good all around burger.

Our server was nice, but the burgers were barely warm when they arrived – this wasn’t even a busy time of day. Bun was stale, meet was flavorless. I spent $ 6 on an average tasting milk shake, to go, because I needed to oust the taste of failure and somehow justify spending nearly $ 40 on clap-trap burger smut. Also, is cheeburger cheeburger trying to rip off the Billy Goat in Chicago? ‘Cheezborger Cheezborger’. The«Pepsi, Pepsi, no Coke» sign. Come on. Also, my husband is currently in the fetal position on the bathroom floor writhing in pain… Where he’s been since lunch time… 8 hours ago.

It was okay. Service was good, the food came out at a decent time. We went biking around the island so we came here because we were exhausted and needed some food. I got sweet potato fries with a marshmallow sauce and a grilled cheese. The cheese tasted really artificial and nasty. The sweet potato fries didn’t have much of a taste to them and tasted like they were frozen beforehand. The marshmallow sauce wasn’t that great either and $ 1.25 is way too much for a cheap sauce anyway. They don’t even charge that much for sauces at my work and they’re better quality. Probably won’t be mad.

Great veggie burger for vegetarians with tons if topping options. Milkshakes are great but very big. A normal size shake is actually their half size. Get the fries and onion rings to share with the table and try all 5 dips.

Was very impressed by the cheeseburger, particularly the meat quality. Price point was lower than most other restaurants on Periwinkle as well, making this a superior quality/cost ratio place. My 3rd time on Sanibel but my first visit here; definitely will be a second!

We visit Captiva once or twice a year as part of our family vacation — and this is one of the places my kids always look forward to! All the food is great — from the chicken fingers, burgers, salads, etc. I have never ordered something from there and not like it! Food always comes out hot and delicious — and their milk shakes are amongst the best… old fashioned thick milkshakes. If you’re going to Sanibel or Captiva, this is a great spot, especially if you got kids.

For a place that’s name has burger in it, VERYSAD. The only temps you can get are medium on, which I got; overcooked, dry & the quality of the beef is very cheap. The loaded fries & onion rings are good. The wait for your food is l-o-n-g & it wasn’t even crowded. I know it’s Sanibel but I’ll pass.

One of the few places that offered an option of quasi-healthy food in Sanibel on a Sunday. Mushroom wrap was awesome and sweet potato fries just totally slayed. Nice and crispy. Good flavor, though it’s no secret they were frozen. Got my order right and in less time than they told me to expect. Not the best, but hey… again. Open on a Sunday.

This has been an island favorite for many years while vacationing in Sanibel. On our last visit, June 2015, the food was excellent! The burgers are cooked to order and the milk shakes are awesome. A «must» when visiting Captiva & Sanibel!

This is a pretty standard stop for our Sanibel trips. Everyone enjoys their burgers and shakes and its a nice place for families due to the atmosphere, kid-friendly menu, etc. You can try out a couple different sized burgers, different meats(or a veggie burger), as well as wide array of toppings. Their milkshake menu is very impressive, with tons of different options. I had the almond milkshake this time around, and it was by far my favorite. Our table started out with some french fries and onion rings as appetizers, and they were delicious and satiated our cravings for greasy diner fare. Almost everyone got a burger, but I was in the mood for something different. I tried the chicken fingers, and they were pretty decent. I think I’d definitely switch back to a burger next time, but it was a nice break.

Pros: Great burgers, great shakes, great food. Cons: Long wait, but that’s okay because it says its not fast food right on the menu. Also the waitress coughed on my mother. Been here a couple times, used to long wait, service is usually good, but this one waitress wasn’t the best. Overall: I recommend going, but if management reads this, please tell your employees to not work if they are sick. Thanks

Wirklich gute burger, kommen aber nicht an die Five guys Burger ran. Aber trotzdem noch 5 Sterne. Die Chili Cheese Pommes sind auch sehr gut. Es dauert aber bis man essen bekommt… Nette Bedienung.

Custom-made is the subject here: The burgers are made to order with an extended list of add-on ingredients. Salads can be custom-ordered too :) Milkshakes can also be created from an extensive list of flavors, HOWEVER… The service is EXTREMELYSLOW. This is not a place to get in and out without an 1−½ to spare :(

Friendly staff. Excellent burgers. MUSTHAVE the chocolate malt. Love the toppings options and the fries were crunchy and scrumptious. Definitely give this place a try!

*expected food to take a long time, because it states so on the menu that it isn’t «fast» food… however drink orders & all other service was also very slow *TONS of burger toppings… and all pretty delicious! minus the ones they forgot on a couple of our burgers… *4 of us split a small french fry/onion ring combo & with the burgers it was plenty…(although would have loved to have more onion rings just cause they are SO good!) *onion rings are thin, battered perfectly and DELICIOUSLYFABULOUS! *french fries were also good with house seasoning *would definitely return if we were staying on the island longer… although might grab some onion rings to go tomorrow on the way out(:

First timer, came with friends to grab a bite to eat before we go fishing. I ordered the cheesteak which was really good. I like how you can add any topping on your choice of food. Must try cheesteak and the serious burger!

Did I mention that I LOOOVE Cheeburger, Cheeburger?! Well I do! It’s one of my favorite burger joints, and burgers is what they do best. I lied, burgers, onion rings and milkshakes are what they do best! Every Sanibel vacation includes a few visits here and while the service can be hit or miss, the majority of the servers are awesome and provide great service. My fave meal here is the semi-serious burger with bacon, pepper jack cheese, mayo, an onion ring and jalapeños; small onion rings(they are large enough to share); and a chocolate peanut butter shake. It’s a meal fit for a Queen, as they use the freshest ingredients and everything is tasty! If you prefer something healthier, they offer that too! There are salads, wraps, veggie burgers, chicken sandwiches etc. This is truly a great spot for family meals, and my only criticism is the fact that they nickel and dime you for sauces and some of the burger toppings. I think .99 for grilled onions and 1.99 for mushrooms is a bit much. I understand paying extra for bacon, but veggies should be included. Having said that, it’s still one of the most affordable places to eat on the island. If you do visit, don’t forget to take a pic with the larger than life stuffed cheeburger!
