In my never ending quest to find a great Chinese place around the north Orange County area I came back to what started it all and decided this place needed thorough review. I grew up coming here and It’s not the same. They basically kept the chow mein and the name and that’s about it when the family that used to own this place changed to a new set of owners. Now it’s just any old Chinese food place. Another review said they fired all the Mexican cooks and put in some Chinese ones. And I fully believe it(trust me, it’s not a good thing). It’s very sad. Review: I had the chow mein with beef and broccoli and bbq Pork. The chow mein is what I remember, a little bland but nothing you couldn’t solve with some soy sauce.(I know, soy sauce is for rice, but I’m weird). The bbq pork was alright. There were some pieces that were all fatty tissue. But for the most part it was a nice amount of actual meat. The beef/broccoli was a little light on the beef and very heavy on the broccoli. Price: more expensive than they were before Overall: I really miss the family that used to run this place before. I wish I could somehow find them and thank them for the memories I had with my family at that restaurant. That, and to try to get them to open up another restaurant or at least cook for me one last time. As for the restaurant itself, it’s still there, but only in name. I don’t think I’ll be coming back unless I get nostalgic again.

Nasty, greesy, old, hard food They dont take credit cards and its not posted anywhere, you find out after tou have placed your order. One atm in the plaza you have to go get cash from. Lousy customer service. Rushed and rude and dismissive.

They don’t take credit cards. Something that they should tell you before you order right? Only atm in the shopping center was broken, after notifying then this they insisted I go to the food for less down the street. Their food was not worth that effort. Left without any food(bad costumer service). Last time I go to this place.

For some reason I was craving for Chinese Fast Food during lunch at work, so what do I do if I’m not familiar with the area? I Unilocal it! And Golden Gate Chinese Fast Food was the closest to my location, I came here even though it had low stars. After trying it, I now know why it had low stars; no flavor, the items were a bit dry, the key word here is «edible» — I came, I satisfied my craving, and I was a happy camper. But if I were to compare this Chinese Fast Food spot to other locations it would be on the bottom of my list.

Not bad food looks edible and pleasing to the eye .when you compare it to whats around town prices where reasonable … oh yeah I wouldn’t recommend the jalapeño chicken and I love spicy food… this was one hot mother-$%*&#r… it hurt on the way in and I don’t even want to think of… well you know overall though cheap, quick and big portions

They just changed owners… laid off all the Mexican cooks and put in Chinese cooks in the back. The food remains the same. At least they don’t microwave the food along with the styrofoam containers anymore! The food here is serviceable at best. Well there’s only 3 Chinese places in walking distance to my work in downtown Santa Ana. I like this place the best. It feels you up, gives you a sense that you are eating Chinese food, but isn’t all that great. It’s slightly ok, but do you have any other choice?
