The food is good and so well-priced. My boyfriend and I shared the mixed seafood ceviche($ 12) and the fried whole tilapia($ 13), which came with rice, beans, and tortillas. The ceviche was mostly imitation crab compared to just a few pieces of shrimp, and barely any calamari. They offer free salsa and chips to start the meal, which is great because it tooks us a while to get our food. The chips were warm and the salsa was delicious. The ceviche and fish were under seasoned so I had to add salsa to everything. I came here on a Friday around 7pm and some guy set up karoke machine and unfortunately, I was seated right next to the large speakers. I actually had to finish my dinner with one ear plugged. It was uncomfortably loud.

Delicious and fresh Mariscos. My husband who does not eat seafood had some seafood. Their Michelada is the bomb. We had the Oysters with cheviche on top, Cheviche and molcajete.

Came here with my husband as a compromise. He wanted tacos and I was craving ceviche. This place was perfect to accommodate both our appetites! My husband got an amazing carne asada taco and wet chicken burrito while I splurged on the shrimp ceviche. My husband is pretty skeptical with places I find on Unilocal but this place surprised us both and will now be our go-to for mariscos!

This place will take you to Mexico’s Pacific coast, but well south of the usual Southern California idea of Baja. Think Mazatlan, think Los Mochis, fishing villages pressed against the tropical ocean by 5,000 foot mountains… Mariscos Centenario pulls many of its seafood plates from Sinaloan cuisine. Ceviche is rich in shrimp. Rather than the yellow chiles of Peruvian ceviche, Sinaloan cuisine mixes the wild tepin chiles or chipotle chiles with limes for a deeper, smokier flavor. Sinaloan cooks are not afraid of mixing and matching everything their state offers; surf-and-turf(with chiles) was invented here. Our ceviches were plated to perfection and were a kaleidoscope of fresh vegetables, shrimp, octopus, fish, and shellfish, all very fresh. Each plate was served with tortillas tostadas. A cold beer or agua de jamaica(cold jasmine) made for an excellent lunch. For an extra flavor rush of umami, add some Salsa Culichi, an inspired blend of wild chile tepin with Worcestershire sauce. This is the only restaurant that I have seen serve it.

Shrimp ceviche was fresh, cold, and had a nice chop, all of which is a rare find in Orange County. They also know how to make a michelada. The décor is obviously not even a thought for management; however, the place does appear to be clean. Finally a place to scratch my mariscos itch during those stints of time that I’m unable to venture down south to Tijuana Oyster Bar. A few tweaks, such as adding smoked Marlin tacos to the menu, and spending a few dollars on making the interior feel slightly less depressing, could make this place a notch above what it currently is: pretty good. For those of you who ordered carne asada at a mariscos restaurant and went on to grade the place based upon your limited experience, you undermine the legitimacy of the Unilocal process.

If i could give no stars i would… this place is open late night but to the drunks who have no taste buds! The food was terrible and so was the atmosphere. Horchata tasted like pure pure powder… it was horrible. Not only that we got terribly sick!!! Yes… full blown foodborne illness sick. Why? Because we had their oysters… not a smart move at all. Fever, chills, vomiting and full blown diarrhea! We had to go to the emergency room! The oysters had a terrible after taste and i just couldnt put another one down… sadly they were inside our ceviche too. I really wish we werent stupid and had returned our food and asked for a refund. Never again…

It says open until 11. We just got here… it’s 10pm. We asked is they’re closed, they said yes… Very disappointed.

If there was negative stars I’d give it infinite ones. Worst service ever. Worst food ever! Worst environment ever! Just terrible. The food had no flavor whatsoever, I even have more hope! And I don’t cook. Got sick the next day. Jesus Christ this place needs to close, or get new cooks! I went yesterday. No hope!

Looked up this great place on Unilocal as we drove through town on a coastal road trip. Stopped by for Taco Tuesday and throughly enjoyed the authentic Mexican flavors. I choose three different tacos, while my husband had steamed talapia(pictured). Only con is we live an 1.5 hours away. Will definately stop here next time we are in town. You must try this place if you’re hungry for true mexican cusine.

We gave this place a try tonight and really enjoyed it. The food was excellent. We both thought it was the best Mexican food we’ve had since we moved to California. Don’t rush right over based on that statement as we’ve only eaten at 4 or 5 Mexican spots. The furnishings are very simple. Nothing elegant here. Our biggest complaint was the loud soccer game they had playing during our meal. For good Mexican food I’d recommend this place.

First time here gotta say food was amazing. Service is great and waitresses are beautiful. Great place to hang out with friends on a Friday night they have Banda. There very hard places to find good Mexican food. Prices are reasonable they even have happy hour specials. Come check it out. I love it.

Was in the mood for some seafood and saw this place had new owners. I decided on the cocktail with shrimp, octopus, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and of course Clamato. The shrimp were pretty good size and were tasty and delicious. The octopus was a bit more sparse, but the few pieces I had were tender, but small. I always compare any shrimp and octopus cocktails to La Sirena Azul in Los Angeles. This cocktail was just ok. Nothing wowed me and it was very basic and straightforward. When I walked into the restaurant it was completely dead, with the family chit chatting under the television. The cashier yelled my order twice before someone got up to make it. They handed me my order then said that they want to add more fresh octopus. I think they honestly forgot to put the octopus in the cocktail. Nothing really special here as far as the cocktails are concerned. Maybe I will be back to try something else down the road.
