Tapioca Express

I decided to give this place a shot because it’s just a tad closer to where I live than the Tapioca Express on Baker, but I think I’ll stick to the further location. I ordered a Grapefruit Green Tea and it was SO SOUR and filled with so much pulp that it was unbearable. The boba was fine (just soft, no flavor). My fiancé got a milk tea and said it was just okay. The staff wasn’t overly friendly either. Would it kill you to smile a little?
The coolest thing is that there was a pretty big tv with a movie on. Another tip? This location has Italian Sodas, whereas the Tapioca Express on Baker does not.

If you like to hear the words «sorry for the wait» this is your place to go. Every Time I come in, just for one drink, I have to wait 30 mins at LEAST. Good boba, very enjoyable, but service is absolutely horrible. You have 5 people working but still have to wait so long for one drink!

Extremely slow!!! Half an hour to an hour just for one drink. It doesnt matter if you’re the only customer or five ahead of you, always expect to wait.

Solid place to grab something to drink while in the area.
Service was very nice, but if you come when they are busy, be prepared to wait quite a while.
Not a huge fan of their tea or coffee, but the slush is great.
Prices are ok, drinks refreshing, not the best, but descent option while out and about.

Their watermelon juice is bomb
I want to go back again today just to buy it. Their tealushes are pretty good too.

I ordered two drinks, and it took almost an hour to get our drinks. We had to get a refund the two guys that work there look like they’re high. Even my boyfriend asked the guy if he was okay and he just stared at him (it took him so long to understand the question).

I got a horrible glare myself just this Tuesday and the guys seem to hate to talk to each other back there, one of the girls made a suggestion for making my drink and the dude totally just ignored her and I was like are you even listening dude? She just made a great recommend and I want that and he said «no ill do it the way it’s supposed to be made.» No miss or mam our of respect just «No» At that moment I didn’t want to buy anything. I honestly wanted to walk out of there n just call it the end of a sweet relationship between the drinks n the boardgames for lunch. I got my drink and looked him in the eyes and said next time someone talks to you listen and understand there making a baller move, she could have up charged me right there and that would have been good for the business instead your close minded attitude didn’t even move an inch, kids theses days no hustle, so anti social, horrible customer service from two employees except the nice female cashier who was great at taste combinations” I ended up getting an okay drink, but it would have tasted better if his dick ass attitude was not part of the service at all. That’s why ur ass works in the back, stay back there! next time I come around or i’ma see a manager for all the stupid shit I put myself through.

We ordered three drinks, THREE drinks. Hardly anyone was ahead of us and it took almost an hour to get our drinks.

I wish there was a way to give no stars. I received an automated txt message from Tapex to go in to get a free regular drink for my birthday… I go in and I asked the cashier what I had to do to redeem my free drink and all he said was he didn’t know how to do it? He didn’t even go ask another store associate :(I went in with a couple of my friends, my friend ordered her banana stawberry snow bubble drink and then they told her afterwards that they were out of bananas. I’m the type of person who sticks to way they know and like but since my birthday is coming I thought to be spontaneous and try something new. I decided to give the green tea lemonade a try but sadly I was greatly disappointed. I took my first sip and it had a weird taste… honestly it tasted like soap. I wasn’t sure if it was just me, so I asked my friend to take a sip and yep she agreed that it had a soapy taste to it. I asked one of the employees if it should have a soapy taste to it and all he said was if I wanted to add sweeter or a shot of flavor.. I agreed but it still tasted like saop… since it was the same exact drink with the soapy taste to it… just with added flavor. Soo I ended up throwing my drink away. And I also purchased a lavander milk tea and I ordered it with soy milk… buy once again they came up to me and said that their lavander milk tea already came «premade» with milk and if I wanted to get a different drink? I was already dissatisfied with their service I just agreed so I could leave
Tapex you’ve done me dirty. what happened to the friendly girls that use to work there? I always left a satisfied customer, but sadly the guys hat were here didn’t seem to want to be there. Horrible service and what a waste of money

I’m upset to say the least… I’ve visited plenty of times and the last time I went here I got charged double on my credit card. I only ordered 2 jasmine milk tea and was charged $ 18. I went in twice to speak to a manager but he wasn’t in both times. The second time I went in I wrote down my complain for an employee to give him which included my name, phone number, what I ordered, what I was charged, and the last 4 digits on my credit card number. The employee said she would give him I call right away but that was over 2 months ago and I still yet to receive a phone call or a refund. I was a regular customer and now I will not be returning. I will also be letting my friends and family know the situation. This is absurd. I have a little baby and can’t possible keep returning to hopefully run into the owner.

Ok… This tapioca was so bad… I have been to Many other locations and this was such a disappointment. From the workers being a bunch of Caucasian stoners I should have known to turn around. Please drive the extra mile and go to a Irvine location!!! Beware watery milk teas!!! And always running low on earl gray ugh!

Rude girl taking orders, like she was having a bad day or she hated her job. I asked her to give me the heat levels on the crispy chicken bc I couldn’t remember if I liked spicy or very spicy and she sounded like an auctioneer that I couldn’t understand so I said spicy and I could have gotten very spicy -‘oh well now I know but I hope she has a better attitude next time.

Sorry to whoever orders from a girl that has bangs and glasses. Bad attitude and got my order wrong… Also very strange that there are no asians working at a boba shop. The workers look as though they don’t know how to do anything.

Came here for some milk tea boba and the cashier Jamie was super sweet. She was very helpful and provided really good service :) The boba was fresh and my drink was ready pretty quick. Thanks TapEx

First off the Snow bubble it doesn’t have that much flavor it’s like if they use half of the powder stuff and water it down or something! To top it off the snow bubble had to many big pieces of ice in it not even smooth at all! How annoying! for 4.79 I totally feel like I got yipped! To make things worse the guy who made it put the top on wrong and it was dripping all over my car! I couldn’t even fix it because if I did it would all fall out! Never going back! The one on Bristol is way better and they definitely have a lot of flavor!

We’ve been here several times over the years. They no longer have punch stamps. They are also more expensive than the other boba place we go to. My daughter also did not like her cookies and cream snow bubble. The service I received today was also quite rude. I don’t think we will be going back here again.

The drinks are good but the waffles suck. I ordered the matcha waffle and it tasted and felt like hot play doh. It seemed like all they had were easy bake oven stuff to cook it. Wasn’t a fan. But other than that, the drinks are always good and the service was cool too

TapEx isn’t the best boba and drink and food I’ve had, but considering the price, it was alright!
I’ve had multiple drinks, but I usually get Honey Milk Tea, popcorn chicken, a strawberry yogurt frost, or another drink when I go. My drinks are all fine, sometimes weird tasting, but the chicken is good. Usually I sit and wait around for a little whither my drink, but it’s a good place to hang out with friends bc there are games! When there are a lot of people, it takes longer for your drink to come out!

I just want to say that this establishment has been one of the best Tapioca Express I have ever been to. I am in love with the Tiger Milk Tea they recommended to me, and all of the employees are really helpful. The store is kept ready tidy, and it just brings a smile on my face when I’m here. If I was their manager, I would tell them to keep up the good work and definitely keep them around.
P. S. The music selection is always a surprise. It ranges from my childhood music in the 90s to EDM to even some Spanish selections. I love it!

Ok, sometimes when I read reviews before stepping into a business, I think, should I be doing this? Sometimes you just have to do it, cross your fingers and give them a chance.
So I walk in and two employees are at the counter doing something and talking across the way at the bench area. I look over and someone is laying down on the padded bench.
I asked if I could use the restroom before I order, by the way I wasn’t greeted, I was the one that greeted them.
So I’m ready to look at the menu mentioning this is my first time in. I asked about spicy chicken that the reviews raved about. The person helping me was actually the person who was laying down on the bench. I wouldn’t have known this, but he was the one that pointed it out. I won’t go on about the reason he was sleeping on the bench since he turned out to be a friendly and helpful person.
My order:
*Spicy Chicken level 2, of 5, with ranch and bbq sauce.
*Coconut smoothie
*Thai Tea with extra boba
Verdict:
** Spicy Chicken — freshly fried, tasty, spice level, thank goodness I ordered it a 2. It had a curry flavor. We found it very good.
** Coconut Smoothie — just the right amount of coconut flavor and sweetness.
My husband and I enjoyed it very much!
** Thai Tea that I ordered — it had no tea flavor or half-​n-​half flavor. I was disappointed with the drink. The only sweetness and even a little flavor was the boba.
I would come back to try some other drinks and other food dish. Definitely would have the coconut drink again.
