Friendliest customer service, good tea selection, great samples, clean environment… it is just a bit pricy($ 5.25 for an iced tea!?) and I didn’t like that all the samples were sweetened but none the less cool concept.

Bought a tin can from this store, used some of the tea leaves for a few days & then left it in my cool dry pantry for a few months. Came back to brew some nice fragrant tea only to find my tea leaves infested with little white insect larvae, living and spinning webs inside the tin can! Mind you, I combed through all of the food in my pantry for signs that this little white worm party was occurring elsewhere in any of my other food. I mean, all I wanted was to make sure that, maybe, just maybe it was my house with the bug infestation and another little bug of the same kind happened to crawl in somewhere else and give birth too. Nothing. I didn’t even bother taking myself back to the store to complain because not only did I want to puke my brains out, but no way in hello would I want that little nest of maggots riding around in my car. Expensive lesson learned. I guess if you ever decide to spend your money here, ask questions about how they clean their tea leaves or maybe check your tin can for any insect eggs or larvae before you leave the store so you don’t end up with a wild and wacky experience like I did. No Thanks. Ever. Again.

Teavana is one of my favorite stores at South Coast Plaza. The tea is excellent of course. It is the service that really makes me love Teavana. They are so helpful especially Vin. I can’t wait to stop in again to get some more tea I’m almost all out. You should definitely try the chai tea it is so spicy and good.

Updating my review. I feel like this particular Teavana has stepped up the quality of their service. Even during busy times, I have seen employees make an effort to help every customer. During my recent visit I had several employees try to help me, but Karen(?) did well assisting me from start to finish. She answered my questions about their products, gave me suggestions, retrieve products for me, and also gave me coupons to use on the same day. She was very careful with the products I chose and made sure I got checked out in an orderly fashion. I requested for an extra bag to split the rock sugar I was buying and she went as far as printing a sticker label for the extra bag. Little things like that make a difference and it’s always appreciated!

I truly love loose leaf tea. I was a patron of Premium Steap in Philadlephia for almost six years before I relocated to southern California. I definitely feel that Premium Steap spoiled me for any other tea shop. I loved being able to stop in on a whim and pick 2oz samples of tea from Patty, who grew to learn my tastes and offer the best suggestions. She was brilliant in her sourcing, knowledge and passion for a great cuppa. Onto Teavana: Pros: I find comfort in the array of teas, as well as the consistency of flavors and blends. I have only been to this location four times, and have yet to be receive a negative experience. I like the women(I have only seen ladies working when I come in) that are on staff. They are all pretty well-rounded in their tea knowledge. Sometimes you’re lucky enough to get one of the employees know a little about everything; trust me that we love learning their favorite teas and suggestions. Visit: The girl that helped me yesterday sampled a blend of two different chai’s with their signature rock sugar added. Upfront, I do not like sweetened tea at all(unless it’s a naturally sweetened blend with fruit or flowers) nor do I like chai. This chai blend though, oh my god! Even my tea-fearing boyfriend commented a couple times that he loved it! The rock sugar gave a slight apple-cider quality to the overall flavor, and I think that’s why he was into it. Either way, I was so impressed! The employee continued to let me know some information about the tea, and then asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I had sampled the Peach Momotaro blooming tea from a friend, and knew I was there for that particular tea. My tea-maiden went through the usual process of bringing me over to the counter, pulling out the canister and wafting the contents in my face. I ordered four ounces of the Peach Momotaro, and wasn’t planning on picking up anything else(considering this was amounting to $ 40) At my boyfriends encouragement, I chose two more teas to take home. I love black teas, and my tea guide suggested an aromatic, vanilla-esque Earl Grey. Again, I assumed to know what I liked and became skeptical that I would not like this tea. The employee saw my expression and assured me that I would be surprised. OHWOW. The tea is called Earl Grey Cream Black Tea, with natural vanilla flavors and sprinkles of marigold petals. It literally smelled like my mother had finished baking a sweet vanilla cake and pulled it freshly out of the oven. It was an instant surprise and I am so glad that this loose leaf goddess suggested it! My clever-eyed boyfriend saw the Wellness blends and pointed out a blend called Rev-Up(green, black and oolong with tropical fruit pieces) That sort of blend is perfect for me: I love a high-caffeine experience, I really like a harmonious blend, Oolong is on my list of favorite teas, and the dried fruits sounded sumptuous(pineapple, mango, passionfruit/banana blend) I am currently at work drinking a silky cup of the Earl Grey Cream Black Tea, and can’t wait to start tomorrow morning with the Rev-Up Blend. Cons: The price points are astonishing, and truly my only complaint about the Teavana establishment. For the the pure-traditional teas, I completely understand that they are going to be more pricey(like Silver Needle, Golden Dragon or blooming teas) but the prices for some blends are just a little too intense. I know I’m getting great quality whenever I come to Teavana, but I feel a little cheated on prices when I leave. Honestly, it’s the other customers that I find irritating. The store is well setup to accommodate a fair amount of people, but those people don’t have any sense of personal space. The weekend shoppers are sample hounds that feel irrevocably entitled to drain every drop of tea from the sample stations. There was fresh sample pot of the Youthberry Tea when I arrived at the store(it was literally being refilled as I tried to get past the clutter of people in the doorway) and on my way out, I decided I wanted to try some. Unfortunately, it was already gone. I didn’t mind, I put my sample cup back down on the stack of cups and proceeded to leave. The woman that was trying to get a sample before me started stamping her feet and looking around for someone to complain to about the«sample always being gone when I want to try». I just smiled and said«it must be very popular!» and she hissed a lovely amount of sass back. Good work Teavana, I can’t wait to run out of tea so that I can find something else I like!

I love Teavana teas and how the staff here are always friendly and knowledgeable, ready to educate any tea novice. Small shop that would probably be overlooked quite a bit as you walk through this shopping mall if it wasn’t for the refreshing aromas that lure you in to try a sample! They have the cutest tea sets, cups and loose leaf containers ever! Teavana is expensive but you pay for excellent quality! The only qualm I have is the pressure I feel when I just want to browse. If it’s not busy, I feel like some of the staff is constantly looking over my shoulder. Which could just be because they’re bored, eager to help and the store is just really small. Understandable, but still wish I could get some space to make my final selections! Having someone constantly hovering around me makes me lose my focus. Other than that, awesome teas and beautiful tea ware!

We had the best woman helping us today. She was bright and cheerful. Wish I remembered her name. She helped me find a good tumbler and made sure I got one without a scratch. The tumbler is so cool; it has a tea filter inside and is leak proof. It has a button that you press to allow the tea to release and to drink from. And then you take the filter out and place it on top of the lid, where it fits perfectly. We purchased the maharaj chai tea, the winterberry blend and the defense wellness tea, which helps support the immune system. Thank you.

I keep forgetting that theres a teavana in south coast. So much better than making the drive to Brea Mall plus I like south coast a whole lot better. Funny thing is I actually walked by and questioned myself if I should really go in because I’d probably buy the whole store. Well I went in anyways. Instantly I was hit witg the amazing aroma of some teas they had. It was truly mesmerizing. I knew I had to control myself or I would go broke. I glanced at all the tea pot sets they had. I learned from experience that each piece are individually priced and its not really a set. Oh wells the one I bought years ago still is in great shape so its top quality to me to get a tea set here. They had a little end of the year sale going on so I had the tea I bought at a discount but even then it was 30 bucks which isnt too bad actually. Great tea great service and great aroma of heaven that clearly makes teavana one of my favorite stores. I keep forgetting about it but this makes such excellent gifts for some of my peeps. Im returning more frequently now.

Im pretty frequent over here and have never seen them work with one worker? I stopped by on my lunch hour to grab some Golden Pu-erh and found one worker tied up with a couple. After waiting in line about 10 minutes with NO acknowledgement from the worker another guy pops out of the back. He informs me that they are out of Golden Pu-erh. He attempts to confirm with the guy that seamed in charge and got brushed off. He lets me know he is a stock boy and the other guy needs to answer when they will have it. Another 5 or 10 minutes goes by and he tells me he cant even tell me when they might have my order? I watched several people leave unserved and not even acknowledged while he spent all his time with the couple that had 1000 questions. I was sad there was noone to even give my money too. Walked out and will look for a spot with better service. Wasted my lunch and had nothing to show for …

I love the teas here but I am disappointed in their customer service. I can in to buy some peach tranquility and while checking out, I realized that I had an old Starbucks gift card in my wallet(PSA they do accept Starbucks gift cards) so I decided to add that. When I got home that day I check my bank account and it seemed to be lower than the calculations that I did in my head Teavana after purchasing the tea. I look at my purchases from the day and they actually charged my credit card twice. I called Teavana and talked to a girl named Nicole I believe, who I later discovered is the manager. I explained to her what had happened and she was somewhat helpful and took my information and said she had to inform their accounting department and would get back to me within the day. Two days pas. Nothing. So I call again. Nicole answers the phone again. Says she lost my information so she had no way to contact me but she will contact accounting right after we ended out phone call and she would call me within the day. Again. No call. I call one more time a couple days later and they say they can’t fine the extra change in the system, basically insinuating that I made it up, even though I offered to show them my card charges. Once again no call back so I drive over to the mall to talk to them in person and was basically told that there was nothing they could do and the manager was VERY rude to myself as well as my boyfriend. I’m talking ZERO customer service. I even suggested that I would accept store credit for the amount of the incorrect charge, thinking that that would b easier for them since they couldn’t find the charge. They acted as if that was the most preposterous idea they had ever herd of. I left the store and reported the second charge as fraud and was refunded from my bank. And never got a call from Teavana. I guess they lost my information again. Anyways, all this being said it could of been avoided if I had the receipt. The only reason I will be returning is because I love their overpriced peach tranquility.

Rude customer service. There was a woman dressed as a geisha guarding the tea samples. When i went up there, the lady asked me which sample I wanted and I asked for two, one for me and one for my mom. My mom is 70 y/o and was sitting on a bench around the corner to rest. The geisha replied by saying that my mom can come here and get it herself(exactly her words) and handed me one sample with barely any tea in it. Is it really worth saving 2 cents on a tea sample versus losing a customer for life?

Love. This. Store. Customer service is great(minus the attitude from the girl behind the counter with silver hair)! Very helpful in attending my needs as well as answering any questions. The guy whos arms cant seem to fit in his shirt was so great. Not only did he help me out with any questions of the teas, but allowed me to smell almost every tea. After weighing my tea, he added an entire bonus scoop(FULLSCOOP) to my bag after paying. Bless him and bless teavanna. I highly recommend it!

The iced teas at Teavanas are some of my favorite flavors! The flavors are fresh and delicious. I wish they weren’t as expensive, or I’d buy one more often! This particular location is always pretty busy, so it’s hard to get to the counter and order anything without waiting for a bit. I wish they’d expand so it wouldn’t be so crammed in there!

Disappointing customer service. Called to bring in a recall and when I got there they said they would only give 75 percent of the original price. Disappointing since 1−800Customer Service said that I would get another Tumblr and in this store I would have to wait until they came in. The Brea store says they have the tumblr so it’s evident who has better customer service. The Brea store!

Unilocal 2015 Challenge #40 Teavana knows how to get you. They start you up by offering you complimentary tea. Everyone bunches up next to it and then bazam you get drawn in. They have more free teas to sample and try inside as well: D Well. After coming here a couple times just to sample and stare at their after-Christmas sale or 40% off sales, came here to try and get their tea using the Starbucks tea reward that I had: D The guy in the back was trying to help me with what tea I wanted. He was very resourceful and kept asking what type of tea I wanted. I knew it was fruity, and he gave me the white, black, oolong tea and let me smell them. Haha I don’t know why though, but I felt a bit rushed, and felt that he stopped caring cuz he knew I was using a reward. That’s when I just stopped and picked a peach white tea and then went off. Short review, the tea is good but I have to put a lot of the leaves in it o. o And yes expensive, but there’s good taste there :3 just need to put tons of tea: D

I just wanted to throw in my feedback of their Tea following a prior visit to this store, where I made some purchases. We purchased the Perfectea Maker after having tasted their tea samples and also purchased three tin cans of tea. The total came out just above $ 50. Not bad. They advised us that the cost is roughly $ 0.75 for cup of tea. One thing we noticed was that it was sweet, aromatic and enticing. We could not help but try all their samples. We loved the taste and also found out that they had added sugar to the samples. At home we followed the instructions for making tea using their Perfectea Maker. We followed the instructions to the T(no pun intended). However, it tasted nothing like what we tried. We even tried adding sugar, but the tea altogether tasted watered down. We doubled first, then tripled the recommended amount of tea leaves before we got a taste similar to what we tasted in the store samples. Turns out that the amount specified on the can(1.5−2 tsp) of leaves per serving 8 oz was entirely wrong. I would think that they would inform their customers that the samples were made with a 2x or 3x stronger tea concentration than specified on their instructions. Therefore, if you do the math, the equivalent 8 oz cup of tea is triple($ 0.75×3 = $ 2.25) of what they quoted. If you used anything less than 3 Tablespoons – yes, that’s Tablespoons(not teaspoons), your flavor will be bland. I am so disappointed that I bought their tea. The Perfectea Maker is fine. What’s wrong is that they falsely advertised that we would get the same flavor of the samples we tasted just by simply following the instructions on the tin can included with the dried Tea leaves. Beware of this corporation and their advertising schemes. I even read somewhere it’s cheaper to just buy their pre-made drink at their counter than to make it yourself. Learn from my mistake, or make the mistake and learn yourself.

If you want to lift up your spirit and treat your taste buds to premium quality loose leaf tea, all while deeply breathing in the aromatic scents, and feel good about what you put in your body… you will thank yourself for drinking Teavana. Whenever I pass by Teavana the aroma draws me in, and I just have to have at least a sample of whatever they’re offering. They usually have two samples in front of the store and two more inside. Sometimes I buy tea by the ounce, because it’s just that good and I love, love, love smelling the aromas of their loose tea leaves. I have one of their infusers so it’s easy to make at home. Otherwise, if I have time then I just opt for ordering a drink at the counter(yes, you can order a drink like a café). My favorite is the Kona Pop Bliss Tea Blend which is a blend of Pineapple Kona Pop herbal tea and Blueberry Bliss Rooibos tea. It’s perfect iced and has a sweet, fruity taste with an herbal aftertaste. It’s also caffeine free. It’s ~$ 4-$ 5 for a ready-made drink, depending on the type of tea(black, white, premium… they have a sign near the counter). My second favorite is the Youthberry Wild Orange Blossom Tea Blend, which is a combination of Youthberry white tea with Wild Orange Blossom herbal tea. Because it’s a white tea you will pay a premium price of $ 5 for a ready-made drink. FYI the teas taste much better with their German rock sugar than if you try to sweeten it with anything else(other sugar, honey, etc.). Tip: You can use your Starbucks Rewards Member Card(or phone app) and earn Starbucks reward stars here.

Stopped by to buy my mom a nice teapot and some teas for xmas. They were pretty packed since it was the holidays. There were a lot of employees and all were friendly and helpful. I really like how there is a wall of all different kinds of tea. The minimum is 2oz, and they let you smell the teas before you buy it. I just asked for some recommendations, and they mixed two different teas to make a combo for me. It was 30% off site-wide for the holidays and they honored it for me in store which was a plus! And they have samples!

This isn’t the first Teavana I have visited. Matter of fact, the first location(Miller Hill Mall in Duluth, MN) was bigger. But that doesn’t necessary mean better! My reason for an average 3 star rating? I came here hoping to buy some bagged tea, not the loose leaf tea, as I don’t have any sort of contraction to properly brew me self a cup, yet. As soon as my next paycheck comes in, ima get my hands on that ice pitcher($ 16 or $ 20ish) & some loose leaf tea. For the time being, I looked around & was bummed to see that all the teas were located behind the counter. it’s awkward when you have an employee standing back there(not his fault entirely, as that’s where the register is as well) & you looking at the mysterious tins trying not to have a staring contest with the employee. They do have a pamphlet you can see all the teas. I also was bummed that you can’t sample any tea you are thinking of buying. It sucks. I was thinking of trying the Black Dragon flavor but for $ 16 I’m hesitant that I won’t like it. Anyways. This place was a disappoint. But will be back anyway, to get that iced pitcher & try a loose leaf tea.
