Really disappointed with the service here. Came in over the weekend with my girlfriends and purchased 6 flights of a mixture of red and white so we could all taste and enjoy. We began tasting but were not given our full order. When we asked the server what the delay was she stated that they were short on wine glasses so she was only going to pour one at a time. Normally I wouldn’t mind this, however, the back wall was full of clean glasses and everyone around us had a full flight rather than serving by the glass. We continued to be met with attitude and the overall feeling that our business was not welcome throughout our stay. Our night ended when another server approached us to ask if we were ready to close out. Even the dogs in the venue seemed more welcome than we did. With that we paid our bill and went next door to Drakes to continue our tasting and had a wonderful time and purchased several bottles of wine. Won’t be back to Corks n Crowns.

As a French person i can tell that the quality of the wine is below average. It seemed to be that the girl who was helping us out knows nothing about wines. We were not very satisfied with the quality of service so left small tip and the girl was rude to us after not getting decent tips

I didn’t have a chance to taste their wine but I can definitely tell-the stuff is the rudest ever! We walked in and asked if it’s possible to get a glass of wine. The bartender gave us a menu and then asked for ID. I am not from the US, so I only had my international DL with me. The girl said they wouldn’t accept this since she doesn’t know how it looks like and that maybe it’s a fake one. I said –sorry I don’t bring my passport since I’m afraid to lose it. She said –sorry, I can’t accept it. I was trying to negotiate with her and said there is no reason for me to lie etc. Eventually she said– well if you don’t like something just go somewhere else. We headed to Santa Barbara winery, they guy was super friendly and did not have any concerns about my international DL. I do understand that cork n crowns has its own rules, but being rude to customer and basically say GETOUTOFHERE is not only mean but very unprofessional

One of my favorites! Cute outdoor patio closer to the beach. They have lots of different options to taste, from all regions including beer. They pour generously and They honored the bonus pour on the check-in too.

Came in while on a short vacation last week. Wine was great and the snack plate was decent. The price was a bit high. What turned me off was the uncouth and snobby girl that made me serve myself and did not bother to talk to us.

First let me start by saying, do the wine membership! If you’re local to SB then you definitely get a ton of use out of it and who can complain about free tastings? With that being said, Corks is one of my favorite Funk Zone tasting room for the sheer fact they always have good wines from smaller wineries. They are a tasting room but not affiliated with a winery. Service is meh but they have a great collection of wines especially from the CentralCoast. There has only been one shipment in the past three years that I haven’t loved! Nick Morello is their GM and is a wine maker. His Morello Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon are always a good one to fall back on and is my go to gift for out of towners. The rose’s tastings are perfect during the hot summer months and hit the spot. Grab a drink and chill on the patio and people watch in the funk zone or grab a spot in front of the fire place on a cold day.

LOVETHISSPOT — Great wine variety, atmosphere, and service! I don’t review a lot of places on here, given human nature of complaints being so inspirational to most people. But reading through some of the reviews, knowing the employees, and working in the service industry myself — I had to show them the love they deserve. Fun tastings and events here too! I’ve done the highly recommended Diamond flight of Napa Valley wines; and the Chilean flight which was also really good. Great spot for a casual glass with friends!

One of my favorite wineries. They always have good wines and switch them up often. They have wine flights and they give you far more than you’ll ever get anywhere up in Solvang. They have a giant wine glass behind the bar; if you’re the one to finish a bottle you get the cork, shoot it in the giant glass, win yourself a free flight. On busy days the service wanes a bit, but overall a great spot with a great small patio.

Great wines. Great service. The place doesn’t offer a food menu but If you want to eat there are a few alternatives like ordering pizza from a partner.

Corks n’ Crowns is a crowd pleaser. Serving up both beer and wine tastings, this place attracts large groups. They have indoor and outdoor space, but when it gets busy it can be a little tight. If you prefer a quieter tasting experience, I recommend going earlier in the day. They do not make their own wine, but have a large variety of wines to taste and buy. If you prefer beer, they have a few on tap and two tasting options, craft and flavored. Corks n’ Crowns really does have the best wine club! If you are an SB local, I highly recommend signing up. You get up to four free tastings every time you visit and wine shipments monthly. In addition, you get discounts on wine purchases. This club will definitely keep your wine racks stocked!

Whites are better then the reds here. We did a few tastings and we found the international tasting was the best of the bunch. Great prices and music as well.

This place is a gem. My favorite spot in the funk zone to hang out, especially on a Sunday afternoon. Sip on a glass of wine or try a beer sampler– whatever you are in the mood for! They have both, unlike most wine tasting spots around there. If it’s a chilly day, warm up by the cozy fireplace and relax by the lounge area… or if it’s a warm day you can people watch on the wrap-around porch in the front. Corks and Crowns is a classy, friendly place for locals and visitors alike. And they are dog friendly. Did I mention they also have cupcake pairings for your sweet tooth? So decadent and tasty… I think I’ll head over there now…

I am a fan of this spot for so many reasons. The patio is awesome, the space is adorable and the beverage choices are pretty great. Bubbles. wine and beer of all kind. And it is dog friendly, I love that. If you have kids, you can even keep them entertained here. There is always great people watching too. If you haven’t been, I definately suggest checking this spot out.

Came here from out of town and saw this place on Unilocal.I got a rose flight and a glass of wine. Boyfriend got a flight. His parents got a glass of wine and a glass of beer. And after I sat down and finished my last drink. I thought oh snap I forgot to check in on Unilocal! So after I check in and proceed to the bar. Another girl was at the bar and the waitress asks«do you need help?» I say«you can help her» other girl says«no it’s ok go for it» waitress looks at me and I show her my check in and she says in a condescending voice«oh you just want free alcohol» and turns to the other girl and says«how can I help you.» And even after the other girl ordered I can tell she was taking her sweet time so she didn’t have to help me. Ohhhhh heeellllll nooooo! Talk about rude! Don’t put special check in offers if you’re going to be mean about it! A guy walks over(Austin) and ends up helping me and he was super nice. I usually read negative reviews on Unilocal to see what happened to warrant a negative review. Especially if the business has 4 stars. In this case I probably would never come back here. There are better places in the area that treat you better and deserve my patronage. The waitress was way too rude and in my opinion I felt discriminated against. My advice. Be careful about the Unilocal check in/free pour. You’ll end up getting terrible service.

This was a really cool tasting room in the midst of the Funk Zone in Santa Barbara. They have a lot of flights at very reasonable prices which range $ 8 – 20. They feature a lot of small and unknown wineries and it is pretty cool to get a small taste of the California Central Coast. I got the Pinot Noir flight and my husband tried the Gold flight and unlike other reviewers, I feel that the value here is pretty good, considering you get to try many quality wines and the pours are generous. I also noticed that they offer free corkage at many local restaurants if you buy wine from them and that buying from this wine bar means you are getting a discount of up to 20% on the wine. The only downside for me was the cheese plate. For $ 18, I expected a bit more choice and quality. The pre-packaged Whole Foods cheese and charcuterie plate just wasn’t my thing. Cute little porch and parking in the back. I will come back if I am in the area again.

Nice tasting room with a great selection. Prices were a little high. Crowd was very big. This is not an intimate tasting room. This is the size of small house, with 2 bar areas, two indoor seating areas, and then a deck surrounding the house. This is a place for people in their twenties and thirties who want to drink and party. The sound was loud and crowded. Even on the deck it was crowded and hard working around people. If you are single, this is a place that you might want to try.

Went to C&C for a wine tasting and was really disappointed. Wine rating is a very personal decision, meaning that you could get 20 opinions from 20 different people. What tastes amazing for one might be garbage to another. However, there are some terms that can be used to describe a wine in a way that others understand and agree upon. The word for the wines at C&C is «earthy.» Which roughly translates to «tastes like the soil from which it came.» We ordered the Pinot Noir flight and the South African flight. For checking in on Unilocal,we each received one additional wine taste of our choice. I chose the Reisling and my friend chose the Sparkling Rose. With the exception of the sparkling rose, neither one of us finished our tastings. Every single glass of red wine tasted like dirt. They were so bad to our palates that we would rather waste the money spent on them than finish. The Reisling was not very sweet and just tasted a bit off to me. The sparkling rose was the one wine that actually tasted as expected and was enjoyed. As for atmosphere, C&C has a nice setup. They have an outdoor porch with tables for those who want to sip outside and a few large chairs to sit on inside. They even sell mini cupcakes to go with the wine if you like. While the atmosphere was good, we found that the two young wine pourers didn’t seem to be that enthusiastic to be there and they didn’t appear to have as much wine knowledge as the other places we tried. In short, everyone has their own taste when it comes to wine. But if «earthy» is not your thing, avoid this stop.

Congratulations Corks n’ Crowns on winning Santa Barbara’s heart and being named the #1 tasting room in the Independent readers Poll!!! I couldn’t agree more! The funk zone has matured from a sleepy little baby to a fun and rambunctious teenager. And Corks n’ Crowns has been there through the transformation, in fact I think that they are a huge part of that transformation. I would suggest that if you enjoy wine or are seeking knowledge about wine that you go to Corks on a weekday afternoon. Several of the tasting room employees have been studying wines in their spare time and have their Sommelier credentials. You can seriously learn a great deal from their knowledge. Weekends Corks is the go-to place. Of all of the Santa Barbara tasting rooms they tend to be the busiest. Sometimes they are even at capacity and you might have to wait for an opportunity to go in. It seems that on weekends a glass of wine or beer is the way to go rather than a tasting. I would encourage anyone, especially Santa Barbara locals to join the wine club. Since they are a tasting room and not a winery, they never have to unload bad product. 100% of their wines are exceptional 100% of the time. The memberships range from ridiculously reasonable to very extravagant depending on which one you choose. The international membership is a real bargain if you are on a budget. Corks has a very generous free tasting policy for members.

This is one of the more crowded establishments in the Funk Zone. The large bar is for tastings and there is another table that just sells glasses. This is one of the few tasting rooms that serves wine, bubbly and craft beer. Perhaps that is why it is so crowded. They offer an $ 11 wine and craft beer tasting if you are lucky enough to secure a place at the tasting bar. At peak hours, it can be quite difficult to get a spot. We had to forego it all together and purchase libations by the glass because it was too crowded(about $ 10 each). There is indoor and outdoor seating on the fine wood patio overlooking the sidewalk – certainly a choice spot for wine-soaked people watching, one of my favorite pastimes. I would recommend a glass of bubbly rose for a break from the more piquant selections at the neighboring wineries.
