We stayed actually right next to this place and found after a day in town. I honestly love this place, the mule was amazing. And they had a Cubano sandwich that I will probably crave once I get home. It was just an awesome atmosphere, mellow when we went. Darren was super friendly and I couldn’t recommend this place more.

Reds is old school locals, been there for many years, not part of the new wave of corporate carpetbaggers that have invaded the Funk Zone. Excellent selection of wines, beer on tap, and cocktails. Nice variety of food, made with care. The whole thing is done by local Artisans, from the décor and interior to the menu items. Highly recommend!

First impression. I dig it. Great vibe so far! The bartender made me feel very comfortable right off the bat. Considering I walked in alone, he was very generous.

HORRIBLEEXPERIENCE! No service! Literally. A group of 5 beautiful girls walk into this place and no one greets us. No even looked at us when we waited 10 minutes at a tabletop menu-less. I went up to the bar to ask for a menu and they intentionally ignored me. This place is trash!

Walked by and seemed cool. Negroni was average at best. Cuban sandwich was slightly burnt and served by a somewhat aloof female chef with no utensils. Bartender was cool but no itemized receipt to see exactly what you ordered. I’ve had much better Cubanos and Negronis. Good music. Last thing… No «thanks or goodbye» on the way out.

We stopped in here for a drink and a bite to eat while wine tasting in Santa Barbara. First off the bartender Dana is one of the nicest people ever! She let us taste a few wines before deciding and the Pinot we decided on was great! We’re from out of town so she gave us suggestions on places to eat/drink on the remainder of our trip. She then recommended one of the specials: sundried tomato and goat cheese quesadilla with balsamic. Oh my!!! So delicious I was tempted to order a second! Amazing service, amazing food, amazing drinks, and as an added bonus the photography on the walls is beautiful.

This location was perfect for the kick off place of the« Unilocal’s Jingle Bus Holiday Lights Tour» with available parking, outdoor seating and friendly staff. It was comfortable, clean and warm inside. Unilocalers enjoyed various bites provided by «Reds Bin 211“and could order drinks from the bar. Discounts were given for Unilocal check-ins and showing Unilocal wrist bands. The folks at Reds Bin 211 were helpful and friendly. Thanks the welcoming atmosphere and a terrific beginning to an awesome night.

One Mojito, Two Mojito… and a whole lot of solid ales on tap! Awesome spot to either just sit back with a group of pals and nosh on tapas such as brushetta and Brie, Jalapeño Poppers wrapped in bacon, or a Cubano sandwich, and a whole lot of awesome drinks such as the Red Mojito, which had just the right amount of zing to get the party started for this lass. Friendly staff, great waitress that was able to keep our tabs organized and able to keep our very large parties orders straight. I also love that it’s a dog friendly pub, as we walked in a man was there with his Husky who was content to lay at his owners feet, but was happy to be petted by passing guests too. They have an eclectic urban vibe going on, art work hangs on the walls, they have padded bench seating, as well as wood chairs, that line the left side of Reds when walking in, and if you like to sit at the bar, just mosey on up and grab a stool. If I had one suggestion my to my friends at Reds, it might be to get some seat covers in the restroom, maybe they were out of stock, after all they had quite the line waiting to get in, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. All in all, I had an outright fabulous time, it helps that I love the people I was with… just add good drinks and some nosh worthy tapas and you’ve got yourself a solid hit! Thanks Reds Bin 211 you rock!

All i can say is if you are wanting a real tasty Bloody Mary that can be considered a meal, seek no further! I ordered their Mac Daddy Bloody Mary that comes with jalapeño poppers wrapped in bacon and crabcakes. It is kind of a hidden menu item, but they can definitely do it. The vibe here is amazing and it is a wonderful spot to have a good time with friends. As a local, this is one of my favorite spots in the Funk Zone :)

This is a wonderful placeI ordered the Bruschetta not expecting much since it is a bar setup — but honestly the bruschetta and all the foods here blew my mind. Everything is DELICIOUS. The staff is wonderful and fun. The Bruschetta are served with goat cheese and the crispiest baguette slices

0 stars if I could. I’ve never seen anything like this– the bartender turned on the house music during the middle of a(local) band’s song without warning or any communication, ending their gig abruptly at 10:40(they were slated to play until 11:30/12) — it’s a Saturday night, they started @ 9:45 and were the headliners. I felt really bad for my colleague whose very cool band I had come to see for the first time. I asked the bartender why he had interrupted them and he said they hadn’t brought in enough people(fiesta is stiff competition!) so he decided they shouldn’t keep playing. The whole thing was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional, and really sad to watch. His response to my inquiry was dismissive and rude. As a music lover and long time member of the SB art community I was offended and cannot support a business that treats artists and community members this poorly.

I came on a Sunday after noon, they had a live band with young girls. Holly cow! They were awesome! A great performance with a bloody Mary, I wished the drinks was a little more lemony but The drink was a bit on the stiff side. I’m not complaining it was so yummy!!! I’m coming back for you guys

Our group stopped in Reds Bar for a quick beverage while making our way down the Pacific Coast Highway in November. First thoughts: Santa Barbara is a cool town! We all would like to go back sometime. First thoughts of Reds Bar: cute, and a little divey. I dig. We were the first patrons to arrive and the only patrons during our brief stay. Despite this, service was pretty laid-back. We had to walk up to the bar to order our drinks and, even though there were only four, one of the drinks was incorrect. It was mine, of course, but I went with it and the drink I received was pretty tasty. Not sure how the low-key service would fare with a larger crowd but it was fine for just our little crew. That bathroom could probably use a scrub down, though.

As many years as I’ve been in SB, I’ve only been here twice. The sign says it’s been around since 2002, but I never came to the Funk Zone at all until 2011. The first was a weeknight around 6:30 and very chill. The tapas were excellent, particularly a date and goat cheese or apricot something or other I loved. Maybe wrapped in bacon. Last night I went later with boyfriend and couple who likes to dance. My boyfriend doesn’t like to dance and he tends not to like louder venues unless seated comfortably. Redfish was playing and for live music at a casual venue of this side, I was so impressed with the guitar and bass. It really was fun. Dana, the owner, is incredibly nice and we spoke awhile before I realized this was the owner. Note: If you dislike heat, your only option in summer is the outdoor area. I really am averse to heat and in love with air conditioning. In New York, there is just no way around the horrifying humidity, but Starbucks, for instance, is an igloo. Sometimes you need to carry a sweater because the places with a/c are positively frigid. Still, I would definitely recommend Reds to people weary of the horrid Marquee. I hate that boom boom bad club music. The Sazerac was pretty good and for 10 very good. The music here is so much better and it’s a relaxed and fun casual hangout with good wine, drinks and snacks. Parking is bad but that’s true of the Funk Zone in general
