We had the $ 2.99 breakfast which took about 30 mins to cook. It was cold, unseasoned, and quite possibly the worst breakfast I’ve ever eaten. Take some pride in your food, people.

I was having a birthday party in Santa Cruz and took my chances on a local caterer. Karla was wonderful! All the food turned out fantastic. I even threw her a curve ball and got married that day too. She went out of her way to bring the food in sections to make sure everythng would be fresh and hot. The cake she made everyone raved about. The food was delicious.

I will not go back here. How hard is it to make a breakfast sandwich? Everything tasted like it was fresh out of the microwave including the English muffin. I’ve read several reviews where people say how wonderful the owners and service here is… I must of caught her on a bad day. No smile, no hello, no thank you, and no goodbye. There are far too many quality places to grab a quick breakfast in Santa Cruz for me to feel like I ever want to give this place a second chance.

Just visited this place for breakfast after hearing about it through Living Social and purchasing a deal. After first receiving an unnecessary lecture from the owner about the Living Social coupons and how she couldn’t keep track of them and then general ranting about Living Social(keep in mind we wouldn’t have known about the place without that deal) she did let us use the coupon and we ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, juice, and a coffee. The OJ was bottled, and the coffee never came. Sandwiches were ok, but she makes her eggs in the microwave. Enough said. Finally, as we were leaving, I returned to the counter to get the forgotten coffee(which had finally been made). All said and done, breakfast would have been easier, faster, and more delicious if made at home.

This place sucks! We ordered a couple of sandwiches and it took them about 20 minutes to make them, even though we were the only customers there. My sandwich had bacon, which had way too much white lard… gross. The service wasn’t that great, the place is in desperate need of a makeover… messy, disorganized, and dusty.

I have given this establishment numerous attempts because I like to support local small businesses and it is conveniently close to my workplace. The final report is not good; slow, very slow and bad attitude. I have waited 15 minutes for a bagel, other times longer. She is always out of supplies and items on the menu. While waiting, other people come in(they are returning after waiting elsewhere) to see if their order is ready. She is disorganized, curt and the food is not always fresh. I am sorry to report this but …‘just the facts” I am done with it. Oh, one more thing, not too clean.

I go there for the people behind the counter! They’re sweet Brazilians, and they are always welcoming. My(ex)boy-friend used to live around the corner, and we would always go there for brunch so he could chat it up with them in Portuguese. She always remembered us, and would sometimes make special stuff for us that wasn’t on the menu. Everything was always delicious. It is the lesser known of the 3 Brazilian cafes in Santa Cruz, but their food is really good. And they have large acai bowls(enough to split)

I like to try a place a few times before I jump to a conclusion. I live right down the street from this place and I have been here a handful of times. I go here for the convienence not the food and defineltly not the service. I wont even go here now even if it is right down the street from my house. This place is that bad. NOSTARSWOULDBETHEACCURATERATING. I went to order a sandwhich that was on the specials board and one that I had previously. I ordered at 10 am and my sandwhich was in my hand at 10:30. This is not a one time thing as I have yet to recieve an order no matter how small it is e.g.(bagel and cream cheese or sandwhich) in no less than 20 minutes. The sandwhich comes with tri tip, blue cheese, mushrooms, grilled onions, and horseradish sauce. I asked for the sandwhich to come without mushrooms. The sandwhich came without mushrooms but then had other things on the sandwhich which were not supposed to be on there. Piled with pickles and peppers and lettuce. This happened as I told the lady repeatedly that all I wanted on the sandwhich was tri tip, cheese, onions, and horseradish. So after waiting for 30 minutes for a sandwhich I decide just to ask for my money back and leave. I ask for my money back and the lady asks if I would want another sandwhich. I decline because well I dont have another 30 minutes to spare waiting for another sandwhich to be made incorrectly and just ask for my money back. She REFUSES to give me my money back and starts yelling at me saying how I got the order wrong. Soooo what you are telling me is the sandwhich that I have gotten before from this same place and the other employees got the order wrong. Either way it took another 5 minutes to get my money back from this lady. In short horrible service, ok food but not worth the wait, and I dont really know how they are still in business.

My fiancé and I vacationed in Santa Cruz for a few days and went to Deli Delicious every morning. Their food is AMAZING! The Breakfast sandwiches and wrap were to die for. This«little hole in the wall» deli met beyond my expectations. Also, the staff were so incredibly friendly and made the experience great. You must go and try it! :)

Service can be super slow at times! I understand it’s made from scratch but they need more than one person behind the counter. Two people shouldn’t be a rush!

The food here has always been tasty whether its a breakfast sandwich(which are quite large) or one of their lunch sandwiches(the ham and brie or the turkey meatloaf are my favorites). The service can be iffy depending on who is working(the young girls tend to be a little inexperienced).

I’ve been to this place twice, and I waited until I had been there more than once to review it. I really wanted to give this place a chance. Each time I had been there, there has been only 1 lady working the counter, I think the owner. They take cash only, which makes sense being so small, but they’re usually out of change. I ordered a breakfast burrito most recently and the lady informed me she didn’t have change for a $ 20, which meant she had to run next door to get change. After 20 minutes of waiting for my burrito, it was finally done, but still no change. So since she had a line of food to make I offered to get change next door myself, which I did. She threw in a free cookie, which was nice, but unacceptable. Food is fairly good, bacon is yummy. Honestly, next time I’m feeling lazy to not make my own breakfast, I won’t waste my time and money and I’ll just make it myself.

These are the best breakfast sandwiches in town. The egg cheese and bacon croissant is HUGE! … The staff is nice. There are so many yummy brazillian treats to choose from. And, to think, I only started coming here because the Windmill(a block away) went down in quality and got way annoying as well as overpriced. The ambiance could be a tad bit better(more comfortable seats instead of the wire ones and some wordless caffe style jazzy music maybe a couple of throw rugs.) .its very deli like and less caffe like. I prefer the caffe feel personally. I still have to get it 4 stars cuz the food is really cheap. You get free coffee and the food is yummy!

Friendly Brazilian staff. Homemade broccoli soup was good but got cold quickly. Sandwich wasn’t made as requested but wasn’t a tragedy.

After walking by this deli a hundred times on my way to Twin Lakes beach, I finally decided to try it for lunch. I shouldn’t have. Although the food tasted fresh(the pesto chicken salad is good) and the selection is varied, the service was horrible and my sandwich sloppy. There was mustard everywhere, my order was wrong, and it took almost 20 minutes to make two sandwiches, only to leave my pickle out of the bag. The two girls working seemed confused and were much more interested in talking to each other than in helping customers and making sandwiches.

An unlikely surprise in a dingy old strip mall in Santa Cruz, Deli-licious has great food and hospitality to offer. The Brazilian style breakfast is a welcome change from the standard fare. Never packed. The açaí bowls are wonderful on a warm day.

Divine powers must have been responsible for opening this place across the street from me. How I love sandwiches! Deli-licious is located in the East Cliff Village shopping center, which is kind of a lame and mostly empty center, but don’t let that fool you! This sandwich and coffee place is so awesome! The owner is so sweet and so happy and the people that work there are just great and every time I go in there I order a different kind of sandwich and every time the sandwich is just fantastic. So far I can recommend turkey, turkey meatloaf, tri-tip, and bbq chicken. I think next time I will order the pesto chicken salad sandwich(update: just finished eating it and yum!) If you are lucky enough to be there on a day when she’s serving her chicken chowder then by God, you must try some because I don’t think I’ve ever had anything more wonderful. Also they have excellent baristas who know how to make a cappuccino. They have lots of tables to sit and eat at but most people seem to get their food to go. So if you show up and the place looks empty that doesn’t mean that people aren’t eating there; they just do a lot of take out. They are open at 7am and I think they close at 5pm. Also a super nice guy, who’s name I can’t remember, sells fresh seafood there on mon/wed/fri and he has fresh live oysters which I think is pretty awesome and he can recommend how to prepare them and stuff. Also available at Deli-licious: frittata, acai, smoothies(I tried something with acai and mint I think and it was fabulous), salads, cold drinks, fresh fruit, chips, granola bars, cereal, oatmeal, etc. They opened relatively recently and she keeps adding new things and tinkering with the menu. Everything tastes great so far!
