Surf City Suds Laundromat

I was at the surf city suds on Cardiff Place, santa Cruz on Thursday afternoon. My home dryer was on the blink. I brought 3 loads for drying only. I put ¹¹⁄₂ loads in #14 and #16, at the same time. Unfortunately dryer # 16 was running but there was no heat. I noticed it only ½ way into the process. I had put quarters to the tune of 8:00 as shown on the machine. I called 334 8098 but have not been called back.
As every one else I would like to be reimbursed or given the use of the machine another time to the tune of that amt. I will not again use a laundromat without an attendant present. P’se have the employee contact me on my home phone at 460‑9186. P’se leave a message.

This place used to be good, but lately half the machines are broken or don’t wash/​dry well and messes accumulate. Disappointing.

The place is clean and the machines seems to be mostly in good shape. A few were out of order but not marked as such until I noticed the coin slot had been taped over after I had put in my washables. A few machines will eat an extra coin or two as well. The washers didn’t do a great job of rinsing all the detergent out, and the dryers take FOREVER to dry your stuff. There is free wi-​fi, but it’s pretty slow, and I was there when the place was empty so it’s not like the network was overloaded. It wouldn’t kill them to spring for a faster internet plan at this place for a few bucks more. So the place is just so-​so, but maybe I’m being too particular.

Chill spot but lots of broken machines.
The sleeping bag cost me 9 to wash and dry which is pricey but also expected. Had to change dryers when the machine wasn’t warm, then stopped working with 5 minutes on timer.
Service man is here now working on machines do likely this will be less of an issue for others. No extra comforts but there is a 7 – 11 next door.

The dryers do not heat properly. I fed the three I used over and over and finally going to have to air dry some more.
Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

Clean and tidy with new machines that work well. Use to go to the mat down the street but I think this is my new spot. I would give all 5 stars but parking does seem to be a bit of an issue. Great experience overall

This establishment was clean, well stocked and had a great selection of washers and dryers. Although the dryers were expensive, it was nice to get through 3 loads simultaneously. Also has a 7 eleven in the same parking lot for snacking between cycles. Legit

Very nice facility. A tad expensive though. Free WiFi is really nice. Dryers definitely not hot enough which definitely warrants take away a star. I put a small amount of clothes in for 45 min and it still wasn’t dry

Very unimpressed with the lack of «heat» on the dryers. I had to give them an additional 2 spins each til my clothes felt even remotely dry.
Sad. But the washers were good!

Always clean, a good crowd, huge machines, easy parking, a 7 – 11 next door. What’s not to like? I drive in from Ben Lomond because it’s the best and worth it.

Clean, but no restrooms for patrons? I had to drive to the nearest bathroom with 11 minutes left on the wash cycle and my 5 year old daughter running up and down the hallway telling «I have to GO!»

This place is pretty clean and have a variety of machines as you can see i listed below. They have from double loads to magnum load lol. GO FIGURE!
I went here to wash my blankets as my home washer /​dryer can not do the job. The only thing i have to complain about it was that the price for drying per quarter is on the expensive side.
This place is next to 7-​eleven in case you are hungry. They have chairs for you to sit and wait for your clothes to stop spinning the machine and also cruzio wifi for free
Overall i would come back here again to get my blankets done but drying /​$ is not that great its about a 3.5 stars. Since there is no 3.5 ill round up 4.

Pricey but worth the visit for cleaning dirty laundry. Washes clothes super clean! Has all sizes and prices range from $ 3 (extra small) to $ 8.75 (extra large).
The $ 5 washers are considered medium but can hold up to 4 loads of laundry; it cleans very well with a duration of 23 minutes and additional cycle for .25 extra. Dryers are .25 cents per 5 minutes.
There is free wi-​fi, a change machine, soap dispensers for sale and a 7 – 11 next door so you can buy all the junk food you want! lol: o)

Nicely kept clean place with free cruzio wi-​fi. Many sizes of washers (very small $ 3, small $ 4, medium $ 5, large $ 7, and one extra large for $ 8.75). Soaps and bleach available for purchase at $ 0.75 each. Many large dryers available (27 total) at a quarter for 5 minutes drying time. Only 3 washers were broken out of 21 when i went here and only 5 of the 27 dryers broken.
I love the free wi-​fi but no outlets to plug in your laptop? Thats kinda weak and counter intuitive. Also only one spot with a counter to sit with your laptop. Almost 5 stars. Definite 5 if there was just AC plugins available for laptop or phone charging during your washing/​drying wait time. Otherwise great laundromat. There are two quarter machines for up to $ 10 bills and a 7 eleven right next door. What more could you need?

Always clean and usually not very busy on Saturday mornings! Nearly all of the machines are always working, I’ve only had one problem with a dryer not getting hot. The machines are all large loads, so you can easily put in 6 or more loads in one machine! Sweet!
The owner usually comes by once a day or so to sweep and check on things, but there are no attendants that sit at any counter or anything, so reviewers who have mentioned that might be thinking of another place.
There are lots of parking spaces, a coin machine, an ATM out front, a 7 – 11 next door and free WiFi!

This place is horrible. There were literally 2 bums smelling and hanging out in the laundry so I had to leave.
When I returned the coin changer was out so I needed to get quarters from the bank.
When I finally was able to do my laundry the machine did not spin out properly and it left soap caked on my clothes. I had to switch machines and pay for a second load.

I’ve been to two other laundromats in my life, and this one is my favorite of the three. I know that’s not saying much — I didn’t even do laundry at one of them — but I had such a pleasant experience at this place that I can’t help but think that it’s the best in town. Surf City was clean, and about standard price as far as I’m concerned for any ol’ laundromat. The cool part was that they had fun things to look at, I felt comfortable sitting around here, and the laundry didn’t take too long to wash!
Also, my only other experience at a laundromat consisted of me stuffing a sleeping bag into the washer only to see it overflow all over the place. This time, that didn’t happen. Five Stars!

Hands down, the best laundromat in town. Loads are up to high capacity for your needs and dryers are hot as can be drying your clothes quick. Parking is ample and there is Wi-​fi. I became a regular here because the place is always the cleanest laudromat around.
Only 2 Stars?
If I was a snooty, rude and inconsiderate person who expected too much, I might rate this business with only 2 stars or 3 stars or 4 stars. It is a place to do your laundry people, not your living room, and not a restaurant!

This is the best location in Santa Cruz to get your clothing clean in a public place because the owners are considerate and responsive people and they offer a great service.

Who doesn’t love new bedding? Fluffy sheets. Toasty comforter. Nights spend drifting away on a cloud-​like mattress cover…
So with a new year came the new bedding. First thing on the list: Get it all laundered and cleaned!
I needed big machines. I wanted new machines. A quick Unilocal search and off to Surf City Suds I went:
— Parking is decent.
— Machines are front load and quite new. Only a smidgen of soap crusties to be found around the detergent loader.
— Machines, while new, are pretty darn pricey. One step up from the small machine (let’s call it small/​medium) ran $ 5 bucks. The medium, which nicely fit my comforter, cost me a whopping $ 7.
— For being such new machines, you don’t get a lot of customizable options on how your load should wash. Boo.
— No Wifi.
— No TV.
— No real place to park my arse and watch DVDs on my laptop. And no convenient outlet in the event that my juice got low.
Honestly, this place is pretty bare bones for a laundromat so close to a university (ugh, hello… UCSC right across the street!!!) The machines get 4 stars, but the rest is just a 1 star kind of place.
