Tucked away behind a gas station and state farm this hidden gem has some darn good burgers. This is definitely a hole in the wall type location, you order your food and pay first so it’s similar to a fast food type burger joint but it has more of a sit down restaurant vibe. I read Tosha’s review and was a bit worried but this was one of the better meals I had while in Santa Fe, for whatever that’s worth.

It’s one of those burger places where you order and then have a seat. There is a condiment bar which is nice. The real burger comes with cheese and any of the following: green chili, mushrooms, or onions. I wish they had guacamole or alvocado. The burger was cooked well and had a great taste. The French fries seemed to be hand cut and fried, also tasted good :)

Real Burger is Becoming one of my favorite spots in Santa Fe. I’ve enjoyed everything I’ve tried over the last several months. The Real Burger is definitely my favorite burger in New Mexico and the carne adovada and eggs?! Absolutely delish!

My husband and I had an excellent experience today at Real Burger. It’s hard to see the place from the road as its tucked behind a gas station off the main strip. We came in and was undecided what to try. The guy at the register showed us the Valentines specials and we went with those. I had the real burger combo and my husband had the fish sandwich combo. They make the burgers fresh on the flap top which gives it a great grilled taste. I order mine plain but you get some mushrooms or cheese at no cost. They have a condiment bar with fixings for your burgers. I could have done without the bun for the burger as I think it’s too thick for the patty. My think it overpowers the patty itself. My husband really enjoyed the fish. It was two big pieces of fish with cheese and all the fixings to go with it. Our meals came with really good huge order of fries. Two people could both eat from one order. I need to try the chicken friend chicken on my next visit.

This place is ok. The food is so so. The little bar with extra stuff to put on your burgers is very nasty and dirty. The staff is friendly. The soda machine is very old and dirty also. The condiments on the table were also very dirty.

Among other things the best Turkey Burger in New Mexico. You can make it or the beef burger a double for $ 1.50 extra. For all their burgers you have a choice of having it cooked on a flat grill or Char Grill. Fresh cut french fry’s are the real thing. Tell them 20 sec extra and they are perfect. They also make fresh cut potato chips.

Their green chile cheeseburgers are consistently good and they serve very generous portions of fresh cut french fries to go along with them. The salsa/condiment bar is a wonderful addition. I haven’t even looked at the other items on their menu because they do such a great job on the green chile cheeseburgers. Once I called them about 7 minutes before closing and they still took my order. Fast service and very friendly staff. The location isn’t visible from Cerrillos Road — it’s behind some other buildings — so you really have to be watching for it.

A magnificent Hamburger. High quality meat. Excellent bun. Good meat-to-bun ratio. First hamburger I have eaten that I did not add ketchup or mayo. Just meat, bun, cheese, and green hatch chiles. Although the chiles were mild, they had spiciness that added a little kick. A lot of locals and regulars. I think we were the only out of towners there.

Best cheeseburgers ever. Seriously. Every aspect of the burger is amazing. Super nice staff. Building is a little run down, but once you take the first bite, it’s irrelevant.

Everyone told me to go here, it was alright. I did really enjoy the topping options and that I got to put them on myself from their«topping bar». Beef had good flavor, but I gotta say it was nothing special.

Good reviews motivated me to try it out, but the burger almost wasn’t worth eating. The burger was big and the condiment bar had some good selections. They even offer you grilled onions, mushrooms, cheese and chili at no cost extra charge and for a $ 7 burger that’s pretty impressive but the burger was mostly bread(dry) with a dry, tasteless meat patty. The fries were limp. Instead of golden brown they were more of a dark brown glistening with lots of oil and no crunch at all. If you want a fairly inexpensive burger and you’re not accustomed to dining in higher quality restaurants you may like it but I certainly won’t be back.

Seriously legit! I was a little worried when I got in line because it was really hot in line but the dining area was very nicely cooled. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. My family all got the special which was a real burger, fries and drink for $ 9. That might seem high but it is a large 6 oz burger, more fries than any of them could eat with it, and several of the topping options including the cheese are included. I ordered one of the most expensive options which was the patty melt and fries for $ 10. This was more food than any non-teenager or football player could eat(speaking as a fat person). Two patties for a whopping 12 oz of delicious chargrilled beef, a generous scoop of guacamole, rye toast, cheese, grilled onion, lettuce, tomato and the same large serving of fries. I ate four fries. The rest of my effort went to finishing this excellent burger. It was served deconstructed so I had to put it together, after which it was at my estimate 5“x4“x4″ of surprisingly non-greasy but still flavorful goodness. Patty melts aren’t traditionally served with guacamole but you won’t hear me complain about this delicious deviation. The condiment bar is well appointed but wasted on me because the patty melt needs no enhancement. I think next time I will ask for a single patty version w/o fries if they can do that. And I need to see what they do with green chile because much as I love Santa Fe Bite I think that Real Burger could give them a good run for their(significantly less) money.

Everyone is right, the green chile cheeseburger is the way to go :) add a vanilla shake! And some of that creamy green sauce from the condiment bar :) The whole burger was tender; the fresh-made bun just fell apart in your mouth. Just the right balance of bun, cheese, chile, and meat. Definitely going to take friends and family when they come to visit!

I was in the mood for a burger and stopped here while in Santa Fe. When you pull up, it seems like a bit of a hole in the wall, but it had good Unilocal reviews, so I decided to give it a chance. I walked in ordered a Realburger with cheese and green chile and fries. She told me to sit in the dining area and she would bring my food out when it was done. I waited about 10 minutes or so and she brought my food out. When I got to my hotel and took a bite into the burger, I was highly disappointed. The burger was actually pretty big(circumference wise), but it didn’t taste good at all. The meat just wasn’t tasty, the green chile was the worse I’ve had, and there was way too much bun for the burger. I felt like I was just eating bread when I took a bite. I probably made it through 5 bites of the burger and decided I wasn’t going to subject myself to anymore torture, so I threw it away. This place has terrible burgers and they will never get my business again.

For our last meal in Santa Fe on this trip, we went to Realburger for lunch. I loved this place immediately. You order at the window and the guy there was super helpful, leading us through our options. Obviously we went because we wanted burgers. Ms T had a straight cheeseburger. Bro J and I went for Green Chile Cheeseburgers with grilled onions. The special comes with a side and drink, so Ms T had sweet potato fries and I had their papitas. The GCCB was very good, my medium rare was not as grill crusted as Bode’s in Abiquiu, but Ms T’s medium well was. She had hers on a flour tortilla and really liked that option. I can see why this one is at the top of the Green Chile Cheese Burger heap in Santa Fe. It was very good, flavorful and well seasoned. I thought the bun was too big and dry at first, but it worked out well. They used a good amount of green chile. I loved the papitas which are small diced fried potatoes with a little oregano, I think. I really liked them, better than if I had had ordinary fries. I also ordered a side of carne adovada which was excellent with thinner, yet richly flavored adobo and I ended up combining the potatoes and carne for something special. This carne may have been the best among some very good examples on this trip. The pork was tender and juicy. My rankings for carne adovada on this trip are: 1 — Real Burger — very rich, thinner, more saucy 2 — Los Amigos — very rich, thick 3 — La Choza — rich flavors, in between consistency 4 — Chris’ Café — well flavored, shredded 5 — Maria’s — dry pork, dry sauce, but good flavor This is a great place with a diner like feel. The menu is not limited to the burgers though with a large selection of meats for burritos and tacos and some enchiladas. I was tempted to try a Real Chili Cheese Dog. I have to get back here.
