Apparently the ownership of the business has changed since I last visited. Updating my rating to the average

I had walked by this place in the past and recalled it as the place with the Disneyland-style logo out front. My boyfriend and I finally stopped in when we were looking for a more casual place near the promenade to grab some dinner. Gyros/Mediterranean food is my jam, so I was excited to see what the restaurant claiming«Best Gyro in Santa Monica» had to offer. We both ordered gyros and then sat down to enjoy the street-facing views of downtown SM. Besides one other guy chowing down in the background, we were the only other patrons of the joint, so I expected the wait to be minimal. Unfortunately, it took around 20 or so minutes before we got our food, which, in my opinion, is too long… especially when our orders weren’t complicated and the lamb was already on the«spit»(or whatever it’s called). When we finally got our food, I found the gyro to be pretty tasty. The meat was very flavorful and lean and the ingredients(e.g., tomatoes, cucumbers, onions) seemed fresh. Even though I enjoyed my food, I’m still giving this place 3 stars because our gyros were pretty highly priced considering their size and the fact that they didn’t come with any sides. I would have appreciated some pita and hummus, salad, rice, or something else on the side.

It was our only option because of the time… I ordered a medium cooked burger and it came almost burned McCrap’s style.

Nice and cozy mediterranean restaurant, right beside ocean ave, their beef gyros is really good, service was OK, it was little slow, but I think because only one person was working at the time I was there. Overall It was good.

Übertrieben schlecht. Rausgeschmissenes Geld. Zu überteuert für das was geboten wird. Das Fleisch teilweise verbrannt und verkokelt, ich dacht, ich beiß auf Briketts. Leute spart euch den Laden und geht wo anders an der Promenade essen.

Great great food! I’ve been here a handful of time on my lunch break. I’ve ordered gyros and plates, both amazing and very filling. The meat tastes fresh and not tangy or un-chewable. Great place for a quick lunch date :)

We’re here visiting our boy and really enjoying LA! We have four kids in college now, so we’re watching our pennies. Ended up here at Seaside Grill and thoroughly enjoyed a platter of Mediterranean treats — they don’t serve booze here, but not to worry — they allow you to bring your own. Really great if you’re visiting LA on a budget.

I went here before many times, If the owner is there they all on their tip toe and you will be taking care of. Owner is very nice and works hard. But I went there on my birthday May 25 and let me say that they guy that took my order was so nasty, He forgot our drinks and fries, I asked for my drink he said you need to get it yourself, I asked for fries he said«Oh Didn’t I bring it to you» .we were middle of our dinner that he Started smoking right next to us out side, I gave him a look and he didn’t even care. Worst experience ever. SEASIDEGRILL Owner: You need to watch Over them 24⁄7 and Do not ask for tip before the service, I gave them %20 Tip but then I regret that but it was too late. They ask for tip before service, what is the point. Shame full

DON’T TIPAHEADOFTIME We went around 11 am and the place was fairly empty(my party of two and a party of three). We ordered our food at the counter and paid with a credit card. The lady turns the screen tooward us and just pointed at a tip option without saying a word. As we didn’t have cash we put the tip on the card asssuming we would get decent service. We were very wrong. Before I even signed the reciept she had asnwered the phone and stuck a finger in the air to silence us even though we had nothing to say. We took a seat and waited for our food. We had ordered a combo plate to share. Now a good service person would assume that when there are two ppl and they only order one plate they are sharing. Well she only brought out one set of utensils with the food. When we asked kindly for another fork she turned away without acknowleding us. At first we assumed she just didn’t hear us, but then she came back and shoved the fork at my mother. We had asked for cups of water when we orded the food but those never came. Half way through the meal i got up and asked again. She then nodded and turned away. Ten min and still no water. I asked again and she gave me two empty cups and pointed to fountain again without saying a word but with plenty of attitude. Honestly bc the service was so bad I would have given this place one star but the food was pretty good.

Not bad. The location is right across the street for the pier. They had a sign with a pretty good daily special(a gyro) and I tried it(posted a picture). It was excellent. The only thing that sucked was the wait. Only one person ordered before me and it still took 15 minutes. That’s garbage. But the location and the gyro were both delightful.

Santa Monica is the home of the homeless and the land of the a.holes. Therefore, If you can’t say something nice, then don’t say anything at all.

This is right next to the pier, I had the beef kabob plate. It was pretty good and filling, the only thing I didn’t like that it was a bit pricey but what can you expect when it’s rig next to the pier. The food was made pretty quickly, the seating area is small so not good for groups. They also serve gelato. Overall a good spot right next to the pier

The signs reads«Best Gyro in Santa Monica». It’s the only gyro I’ve had in town so I won’t dispute their claim. The gyro was pretty darn good but I’ve had better in «another» town. What I’d did like about the gyro was it was prepared leaner than what I’m used too. Still very flavorful. I order one again if I were here again. Great location and awesome customer service.

I called and Eric answered the phone and took my order for pick up and told me it will be ready in 10 minutes. So i got there 15 minutes later only ti find him forgotten all about my order and wanting me to wait! Why did I place my order over the phone to begin with if I’m gonna get there and wait! He cost me parking and time. Had to cancel the order and stick to my plans. I had guests and promised them dinner only to order them delivery! How humiliating! And its not like they have parking to where you can wait either. Really bad experience and unfortunately its happened to me before. Service is very slow draining

I found this gem on walking towards the pier. The restaurant was quite attractive and kept very clean. They had seating inside as well as out side. I ordered a Shawarma plate and a burger. The portions were fine and the meat was cooked very nice and quite tasty. The Plate came with meat, also including hummus & garlic sauce, salad, rice, and pita, whereas the burgers came with fries. You get great value for the money and delicious right size portions at this place. The service was quite fast and the food was packed properly as I did a take-out. The do serve halal meat at this location.

I was hungry, walking towards the Santa Monica Pier when I stumbled on this place. I love Greek/Mediterranean food so I was really excited about this place. I got the Gyro Wrap and it came out really quick. It was loaded with meat and the pita bread it was wrapped on was warm and fluffy. I got what I expected and I would definitely come back for a quick meal/fix.

If I could give half stars, I’d rate this 4.5. But I’ll be nice and round it up to 5 :) The meateater BF pretty much zeroed in on this place as we were walking by. The halal sign caught his eye. I’m all for checking out hole in the wall places and was super happy to open the menu and see special icons marking which items are vegan. The Vegetarian Plate caught my eye and appetite. This involved falafels, tabouli, stuffed grape leaves, salad, baba ganoush, hummus, and pita bread. Hands down, the best baba ganoush I’ve ever had! So creamy, so flavorful, I was practically licking my plate. I’m not lying. Ask the BF ;P The falafels were pretty legit! We saw the cook drop them into the fryer as soon as our order was in. When it arrived on my plate, it was cooked just the way I like them. Crispy with a slight bit of crunch on the outside, tender and soft on the inside. Everything else, delicious! Tabouli was refreshing, hummus was smooth, and stuffed grape leaves totally hit the spot. Every single item on this plate was amazing on its own. I’m craving another plate right now! :)
