Good sandwiches but there is cross contamination with the meats. Not nice. I come to order just the veggie patty and sometimes the employees have an unwelcoming look making me feel they are too lazy to prepare that and don’t want me to order. It would be better if they smiled and prepared what the customers want.

4 stars for efficiency and the employees getting better about smiling and seeming happier. The line gets long but moves very fast. The food is… meh, just ok. But this subway is very well run which I appreciate!

Normal Subway. If you go to this one during lunch hour, you will be standing in line for a while. If you call in your order, they will make it for you and then you can pick up and pay. The people working are always friendly and I enjoy eating here whenever I forget lunch.

The only redeeming quality this particular location has going for it is, well, the location. Outside of the convenience(close to work and I can walk here) this place is spectacular at being mediocre. The line that trickles outside of the shop is unavoidable, and doesn’t add/detract to my 2-star score. The line means this sandwich shop has a monopoly, since 99% of their customers work in the immediate Water Garden vicinity and have only a handful of choices for lunch. Why the 2– Star then? — Stale Bread: mentioned elsewhere in reviews, has to be reinstated here. There’s no reason for stale bread… ever. — Lifeless Staff: I can’t shake the feeling they hate working there – they frown ALL the time. Sandwich making isn’t glamorous by any means, but I shouldn’t feel bad as a customer simply trying to exchange pleasantries while getting my sandwich. — Extremely Stingy: Ask for«extra» anything and you’ll be met with grunts and groans. The staff has been trained to offer the bare minimum, i.e. ask for spinach and you’ll get like 3 leaves. «More» brings that up to 4 leaves, wow! — Constant Up-Selling: I get it’s a business and they’re out to make money. But I don’t need to constantly hear each employee ask me if I want avocado(1 – 2 dollars extra for razor-thin slices? no thanks). Then you get to the cash register and they practically insist you spend 3 more dollars for chips and a fountain drink.

I nearly never post reviews and I have NEVER posted a negative review, but I’ve had it with this place. It’s just the worst. I don’t care about the line, I don’t care about the stafff, but I do care that the food — subpar though it may be — be edible. It never is. I’ve frequented this location more than I’d like to admit, given the proximity to my work, and never in my dozens of visits has the bread been fresh. Forget fresh, I’d be happy if it were merely just a LITTLE bit stale. But when your customers can’t produce enough saliva to chew and swallow the bread you make your sandwiches with, it’s causes one to question when exactly it is this bread is actually being baked. If I had to guess, I’d say they’re using bread baked days earlier and rotating it out, so that not one sandwich coming out of that storefront has the slightest chance of being good. I’m not the only person complaining about this, nor does it seem to be a new problem. Sort your sh! t out, Water Garden Subway.

This establishment is located on Colorado Avenue with its own separate entrance into the Water Gardens. However, there is only one door in or out & if you’re coming during lunch be prepared to wait at least ten minutes in line. I have been here twice; one time to eat & the other time passing by– both times the line was extremely long. I will give a small pass, their workers have their noses to the grindstones processing as many orders as possible. The one time I went there must have been 20 people in line(and I am not exaggerating). The line is not as bad as it looks; the wait is typically 10 – 12 minutes which isn’t bad considering how many sandwiches are being made. After paying customers swing to the soda machine to the left. Like the prairie dog exhibit at the LA Zoo it is not necessarily hidden, but it is in the corner. How the soda machine area doesn’t get overly crowded is a feat equivalent of man landing on the moon or balancing the state budget; both seem impossible and have been done only a handful of times. I did notice the person in front of me had decision-issues trying to pick a drink which caused a backlog which was annoying. The bill which includes tax($ 9): — 2x bags of Nacho Cheese Doritos — Six inch meatball sandwich with avocado — Large soda Let’s face it, when we got to Subway we have 2 – 3 sandwiches in mind. It’s a matter of narrowing down the choice to one sandwich by the time we get to the counter; when coming to this Subway please have this in mind. You really have to know what you want because there are twenty people in back of you — literally. The same philosophy follows with the soda fountain. Besides the long line and odd ergonomics I will be coming back. Even though traveling to the moon takes time, it’s still a worthwhile trip.

This Subway is kind of hit-or-miss. It can get pretty crowded around lunch time, but it moves pretty quick. Even with a line out the door, they get you in and out of there within 15 minutes. The only problem I’ve had with this Subway is they can skimp on the toppings sometimes and the quality of the toppings isn’t always the best. I decided to do the avocado despite the extra charge(because avocado is delicious), but when I bit down into the sandwich, the avocados were rock hard. They were not ripe at all, and shouldn’t have been served. I had to take them out to be able to enjoy the sandwich. Other than that, it’s pretty quick and convenient if you work nearby.

Not crowded at all at 12:52 pm, no where else to get lunch for 5 $ everything is overpriced for the area.

I’ve been coming to this Subway for a few months now. Standard Subway. But I am curious about why there are 6 to 8 people handling my sandwich. Its like some robotic assembly line. One person to put on the meet/cheese, one to put it in the oven, one to ask if you want avocados, one to put on a stingy amount of lettuce/spinach, one to add a stingy amount of tomatoes, one to add an even stingier amount of what’s left, still another person to bag, and yes, another person at the register…

Yes it’s crowded with a line out the door but where else can you spend $ 5 or less for lunch that is made right in front of yo face! HAHAHAHA! Yeah I usually stick with the deal because of its value. As of lately, I’m adding marinara sauce to my sandwich as well as one squeeze strip of the chipotle sauce. YUMMY!

Eat Fresh. Fitting motto for the franchise. Right across the street from work, so it’s never a problem heading over for lunch. The line can be long, but they’ve got a good enough assembly-line setup so you’re never waiting too long. Don’t expect anything of gourmet quality; it’s Subway, and you get what you pay for. But when you’re paying $ 5 for a footlong sub, you can’t really complain. Oh, one thing of note… they tend to skimp on the veggies. Don’t be afraid to ask for extra **insert favorite topping here, unless it’s cheese or meat**, and they’ll pack on more, albeit reluctantly.

Simple, fast and friendly…$ 5 subs and the next building over from where I work. Pesto chicken hits the spot. I try to avoid the lunch rush by going either early or late. The line can get out-the-door long; doesn’t say much though. It’s a small joint with only take-out available. No inside seating.

As others have said this place skips out on veggies. Bell pepper means 3 or 4 pieces, same for olives, somtimes less. I’ve been coming here for almost 3 years, usually once a week, but there was a few weeks when I went every day as an experiment to see if I could handle it. The manager/owner is very friendly. The staff is responsive and very fast but I’m puzzled when I order a BLT and am asked if I want lettuce and tomato. It’s sort of robotic but I suppose with the volume of customers the store gets they don’t have time to chat. Unrelated to the store itself, beware of the calories, sodium, and fat in the sandwiches, it seems pretty healthy but take a look at the nutrition facts sheet and be amazed.

This subway is always crowded during the lunch time. It’s one of those«It is what it is» type of places again. With the wide variety of options available at the Water Gardens, I don’t really see why Subway would ever be my choice. My work buddy loves this place. I only go there when she wants to go… oh well. At least it’s cheap. ** Probably the cheapest lunch option at the water garden! **

After my terrible experience at the Quizno’s a block down the way, I have to write about how good Subway is in comparison. Staff — Always friendly and efficient — no harridans on a celeb trip here! Food — Well it is Subway. Even though they are generic, the sandwiches are fresh, filling and do not turn into a wodge of gunk. Also, right now they have the ‘Footlong for $ 5″ which is a bargain, and is nice.

As Subways go, this one in the Watergarden complex is pretty good. My only real complaint is that they tend toward overcooking the bread. They are superfast here. I never feel like I have waited an inordinate amount of time, even when the line is out the door. They get high marks from me for the fond memories I have from eating here three times a week when I was pregnant. I am surprised my baby didn’t come out looking like a roasted chicken six inch on white with avocado. In addition to the usual sandwiches for lunch, I have ordered sandwich and cookie trays from them for late dinner meetings. They will deliver, which is nice.
