I’m not specifically reviewing this location… although if I were, I’m sure I would be giving it a raving review just as I have every other Port of Subs I’ve eaten at. You see, I was lucky enough to have grown up in Reno, NV during my High School years and became addicted to Port of Subs. When I started dating a Manager of one of the stores, you would have thought I would have become sick and tired of it… NOPE! Well, a few years down the road, I had moved back to my childhood hometown, Las Vegas. I about DIED to find out that there were NO Port of Subs in Vegas. WHAT!!! NOWAY! You would have thought I was a Heroin junkie coming down, looking for my next sandwich to shoot up lol! I was in a deep depression for quite some time over this. All I had to choose from was Schlotsky’s() and Subway. Well, one day, on my way to a college class, I passed a place that I drove by every single day for several years by now… there were a line of those bright triangle flags strung all across this parking lot with a huge sign that read«GRANDOPENING»… I had already passed by the location, but was looking in my rear view mirror, and I could SWEAR that I had seen that little sign that I had known so well… Port Of Subs and the little Submarine… Did I really see that? Hmmmmm. The whole time, driving further away. My mind was going crazy thinking about it. So, I decided to prove to myself that I was seeing things. I turned around and headed back, mind you I was about 3 or 4 miles away by now. As I got close to this place and I was able to see the sign for real, I was totally excited to know that I really wasn’t crazy after all, and that all my «I wish we had a Port of Subs in Vegas» statements had finally been answered! I bought 2, foot long #1’s and shared them with my classmates that day. Not 1 person didn’t like them! I think I had Port of Subs for lunch every day for the first 2 weeks that this place had been open, if not more! Now, here I am, in Southern California… and not a Port of Subs to be found… WTF?!! I wish we had Port of Subs here in Ontario, CA. You guys are SOLUCKY! ENJOY!

I grew up frequenting a Port of Subs near my high school. This Port of Subs however not like the one growing up. This location is a bit run down and dated. The food however is still fresh for a sub place. You get the meat and cheese cut right in front of you which verifies it’s freshness. Not a bad choice for a quick sandwich. A large sub will be more than filling. Go smaller.

Talk about team work! They have so many veggies & spices to add to the sandwich… my favorite is sandwich #1 with Ham-salami-capicolla-pepperoni-provolone on sourdough bread. Friendly and accommodating on you special needs.

Love this place. Best sandwiches around. Everything is sliced to order and the veggies are fresh which makes it even more amazing. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff are constantly washing their hands. Its not expensive either. Great spot!

Port of Subs is my absolute favorite place for sandwiches… If I can find one! I love and have been to this location many times and will come here more often now that the other Santa Rosa location has closed. :(I have also been to the Rohnert Park and South Lake Tahoe locations and no matter what one I go to the sandwiches are all consistently amazing! For vegetarians, they have a veggie sandwich and a cheese/avocado sandwich. I always go for a 12″ cheese/avocado sandwich so I can eat half at lunch, and half the next day! My favorite things about Port of Subs are: 1) The smokey cheddar! This is the only sandwich place I have found that carries this cheese. It makes a world of difference! It gives their vegetarian sandwiches a more«meaty» flavor. Love it! 2) The bread! I always get their wheat bread. It is great! Super fresh with great flavor and a nice cross between wheat and white. It isn’t a hard roll, and it isn’t sliced sandwich bread, but a soft wheat baguette sliced to the size of your sandwich. Yum! 3) The oil/vinegar/spices! I always get all the oil, vinegar and spices added to my sandwich. It adds so much flavor and uniqueness that I haven’t found anywhere else that even comes close. Please open up a Port of Subs in the Sacramento area!!! I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years and nothing has changed. Their sandwiches, atmosphere, quality and value are all still there. Highly recommended!

I have been eating sandwiches from this shop for years. The food is great and the service is excellent. This is a family run business, where the owners really care about their customers.

Bread: Baked fresh each day and delicious all on its own Meat & Cheese: freshly sliced while I wait — not just sitting there, presliced Toppings: Fresh and fantastic. POS is the reason I fell in love with purple onions Spatula spread mustard & mayo: Because simply squirting these on isn’t nice Since your meat and cheeses are being sliced as you order, it might take a little longer than it does at that other sandwich chain, but it’s well worth the wait. Fresh, simple, and perfect for munching there or at the park across the street.

Port of subs offers up fast service and a quality sandwich for CHEAP. As a poor college student I am always looking for ways to fill up on a budget, but I also enjoy good food. My co-worker turned me onto this place one day by offering up half her bacon-turkey with smokey cheddar sandwich. All the ingredients(all very basic, nothing extravagant) are fresh and real tasting… not like subways watery lunch meats and crappy soft bread. They actually slice the meat and cheese right there so you know what your getting. This place is easy to find on the corner of West College Avenue, near the Marlow shopping center. It’s a great alternative to those«other» sandwich shops charging up to $ 10 for a single sandwich. Here 10 bucks will get you a delicious sandwich, drink and a side order of potato or macaroni salad. Oh, and did I mention the smokey cheddar cheese? So delish! They also have grilled sandwiches which were equally as good. Just a side note, this place is very very casual!

PoS(terrible acronym) is the closest sandwich place to my house, within walking distance which is a feat because of all the other subdivisions. This place has always given great sandwiches at a good price. They cut the meat and cheeses right there, with their slicing machine. The bread is fresh and the party platters are also good.

I wasn’t a huge fan of this place until I tried their BLT. My friends and I were joking that it looked like they might be putting an entire pound of bacon on my sammich. I didn’t weigh it but it could have very well been an actual pound of perfectly cooked tasty bacon. I always go for the large sammich, eat half at lunch, and then take the other half home for dinner. I’m also impressed with how fast they are here. I’ve arrived to find a line all the way to the door and within ten minutes I was sitting down to eat. Very fast and always friendly. HOWEVER, in the event that they have just baked cookies and you hit during the lunch rush, don’t expect them to turn around and grab a cookie for you off the baking sheet. They simply won’t do it in my experience. No, the act of turning around and picking up a cookie and then turning back around would take far too long. If they don’t already have the cookies ready to go, you’re out of luck. Add in the fact that you can smell the fresh baked cookies and your mouth is watering and you are just a couple of seconds from diving over the counter because like a zombie lusting for brains all you can think of is fresh baked cookies… you can smell them… you can see them… you can almost taste them… the clerks just won’t budge. Come back after the rush they say… pffbt. Minus one star for bad cookie service.
