My husband & I picked up breakfast on Sunday. We ordered Chili Relleno. Machaca and Chorizo burritos. My Chilli Relleno burrito was so good. My husband enjoyed his Chorizo burrito too. One of my favorite Mexican restaurants to get take out.

I ordered the breakfast burrito with ham, bacon, cheese and egg and my order was wrong, they gave me a bacon cheese and egg burrito, it was OK. I don’t think I’ll be back here because there really tight on the hot sauce. I like a lot of hot sauce and they don’t have bottles of it or a salsa bar for those who eat here, I had to keep asking for the sauce and even with that was only given a few at a time…

I used to like this place, but tonight when I asked for 4 hot sauces for my rolled tacos I was told they only give out three hot sauces per order??? Seriously? Then to make matters worse when I got them home I discovered that they have also gotten extremely stingy with the guacamole – so yeah, time for a new taco shop…

I finally found a great taco shop in Santee! I knew it when I saw all these people waiting for their orders on a dreary Sunday morning. It seemed like they were all regulars, always a good sign. A perfect Chorizo burrito with crispy potatoes, eggs and cheese. The green hot sauce is outstanding. This will definitely become my go to Taco Shop. Thank you Los Amigos!

I’ve been eating at Los Amigos for the past year, ever since my room mate introduced me to them. Today i made the mistake of trying another taco shop because they were closer and had a drive through(the hangover was that real). One bite into the competitions burrito and i immediately felt the repercussions of my actions. I had betrayed you, Los Amigos, and i paid the price in the form of a ill-portioned, cold, expensive, unruly burrito that caused me irregular bowel movements and uncontrollable thirst for hours. You have always been good to me with your fair prices, large quantities, delicious food, and superior service. You tested my faith and i failed you, but im ready to make it up to you. Will you have me back? Seriously though, i recommend this place to everyone in the area, they’re the best. **TIP: Next time you’re in try the bacon ham cheese egg breakfast burrito. It will change your life.

I’ll echo the consensus. This is a hole-in-the-wall taco shop in a nondescript strip mall. There’s no drive-thru. No salsa bar. There’s no cutie 3.14 working the cash register(or at least the one time I visited, but that’s neither here nor there). But wait. The locals know what’s up as I noticed work trucks and other vehicles parking up front as the lunch rush began. The phone also began ringing as the regulars were calling in their food orders. People have their go-to favorites, whether in burrito or taco form, so I asked the guy which was better today, either carne asada or the carnitas, to help me narrow down my decision. He did not steer me wrong. I went with a carnitas plate and it was a tasty lunch, plus leftovers for later. I’m still trying to fight off the afternoon food coma. It was a generous portion of tasty carnitas with all the fixins and choice of tortillas. I opted for corn tortillas, a piping hot, rolled up bundle of four. Eat them while they’re fresh since they dry out relatively quick. The rolled tacos are pretty good too. The 5-rolled taco special from the menu board is a satisfactory snack. I also noticed a kids menu, so Mini-me can get something next time. Yep, there will be a next time ;)

Hidden gem! So very delicious. Their ingredients are high quality and you can tell. You won’t hate yourself after you inhale a burrito. The family who runs this place is proud for a reason. Top notch!

This is by far the best family owned Mexican food place in Santee. When I go here, it feels like home. Great Staff, Great food, Great location. I highly recommend this place if you live in Santee and haven’t tried them yet. P. S. their green sauce is the BEST you will ever try, I promise you that. It’s spicy though, so be ready! :) enjoy

BREAKFASTBURRITOLOVERS, REJOICE! As a San Diego local, I’ve had my fair share of Mexican food and breakfast burritos and Los Amigos by far has the best bfast burrito I have ever had. Filled with hearty potatoes, thick cut bacon or ham, fluffy scrambled eggs, and melted cheddar cheese, this burrito always leaves me stuffed and satisfied. This small, family owned, hole-in-the-wall taco shop is definitely a local favorite. The employees working behind the counter recognize regulars and are usually willing to make any sort of substitution to their menu items. Other popular meals include the California Burrito, rolled tacos, and the carnitas plate. Always cooked to order, there is often a wait durning busy times so calling ahead and placing your order is smart. Love this place!

The food was decent, and the cashier was kind of rude to my brother when he asked for a water cup.

This place certainly took me for a surprise, with too little reviews it almost seemed like no one went to this place. That is until I got there and realized that everyone in the world calls their order in first, because the wait here is so long. Los Amigos is a little hole in the wall with a super small dining room( ) and most likely even smaller kitchen in the back from the looks of it. This place has a pretty small menu compared to some of the larger taco shops, but in my opinion thats just fine because I found their food to be pretty damn good. When I first came in here, there was only one customer ahead of me ordering and after they took my order, my food wouldn’t even get to me until about 30 minutes later. Meanwhile people kept coming in over and over picking up their ‘to-go’ orders. So my first advice to anyone for this place, is to phone your order in cause the wait is pretty long if its a busy night. They have no salsa bar here, they only have two sauces red and green which they keep stashed behind the counter away from salsa addicts like me. Their red sauce here is actually on the better side of most places, its not too spicy at all but it packs lots of flavor. So after finally getting my order and I cruised home(theres no way you wana eat in this little place really). The Titan burrito certainly was titan in size( ), this burrito was huge and the tortilla was completely packed. It came with carne asada, french fries, cheese, pico de gallo, guac and lettuce. So basically it was a massive California with a bit of lettuce added to it. The carne asada was juicy, flavorful and in much abundance in this burrito. The fries were crispy and had just enough not to overburden the burrito with too much starch. The titan burrito was a solid 9 or 10 in my book, delicious. Their rolled tacos come in size of three or five. If you order their special of 5, you can get guacamole, lettuce, cheese, and salsa fresca for about 4 bucks( ), thats a killer deal. Their chicken rolled tacos( ) were great. They added plenty of guacamole and they were still crispy even after the ride home. They added a bit of cotija cheese on top but lacked in the cheddar cheese department. The chicken meat inside was tasty and overall they have good rolled tacos here. We also got a supreme quesadilla here which was massive in size( ). Typical vegetarian quesadilla that came with guac, sour cream, beans, tomatoes, and cheese. Their beans were quite good here, wished they had added more to it. Left this in the fridge overnight for leftovers the next day, still tasted good the next day too. Los Amigos Mexican Food exceeded my expectations for this place, I was expecting the typical Santee taco shop. East county in my opinion lacks a lot of the good taco shops that we have here in San Diego, good to see this little place has great flavor and food quality. Just hope the wait isn’t so long for everyone as it was me.

I really enjoy a good breakfast burrito and this little Mexican eatery sure makes a great one. For $ 4.99 cents you can either have a ham, bacon, or sausage with scramble eggs, cheese, and breakfast potatoes, but I axed the potatoes and added ham and bacon so the price came to $ 6 and some change with the tax. The breakfast burrito was not only large and generously filled, and best of all, it tasted great( ). The scrambled eggs were fluffy and moist, and the ham was tender with some very crispy bacon all throughout the burrito( ). The flour tortillas tightly wrapped around the burrito’s ingredients, which made it easy to handle and had a nice butter texture. I tried both the house red and green hot sauce and the red sauce was my favorite because had very good flavor and nice bite. The place is family owned and they are quite nice here. They also make soups, but they are not on the menu for some reason. Quite the filling delicious breakfast burrito…

Typical hole in the wall Mexican food. Average size portions. The bean & cheese burrito gave the kids an immediate case of the runs. Carne asada is tasty here… But why oh why so stingy with the hot sauce?!? The hot sauce is just meh, and you basically got to beg for it… Cazadores is just down the road and everything there is way better!

I’ve officially found my new taco shop in Santee! Growing up in San Diego, I am VERY picky about my Mexican food. After moving to Santee and trying a couple places that I didn’t care for, I was beginning to lose hope and thought I would have to drive back to clairemont for my usual Mexican food fix. Then, thanks to Unilocal,I found Los Amigos. I first tried the breakfast burrito a few months ago, and loved it. I like that the burritos are simple but tasty. The breakfast burrito was perfect. Eggs, potatoes, and cheese. I added beans. PERFECTION. But tonight was what really sold me… I tried the California burrito. I’m normally hesitant to order any type of meat at taco shops, especially ones I am new to. But after reading all the rave reviews on their carne asada, and seeing the pictures, I decided to give it a try. OMG. It’s honestly the best California burrito I’ve ever had! The fries weren’t too crispy(I hate when there are crispy fries in my burrito) and they are not shy with the quacamole, cheese, or carne. Leaving you with a moist, tasty, and huge burrito. I’m embarrassed to say that I ate the whole thing, but I couldn’t help myself. Every bite was better than the last. So happy to have found this place!

The food here is so damn good. Been coming here ever since I opened up my agency in Santee. I have never had anything that was bad and we have tried most of the menu. Favorites are Tacos de Cabeza, Chili Rellano Burrito, Melted Cheese Enchiladas(the cheese is actually melted, unlike most Taco Chops). Just to name a few. Keep up the good work friends.
