I was having a strange craving for the chicken breast sandwhich, even though I hadn’t been there in years. Ordered it to go and was surprised at how quickly it came out, so not quite sure what the comments about the long waits are about. Maybe it’s different for dine-in. Service could not have been nicer — the cashier was super friendly. The sandwich was good as always, even though it’s super messy to eat… guess that’s the nature of a sammy made with chewy baguette! I’ll be back for more… pastries next time.

I have an expresso and a croissant on the terrasse in the morning, people are very friendly: it’s like being in Paris during summertime. I also buy my bread there everyday. I love this place

This place has the authentic slow spotty service you often find in Europe but that’s part of the charm here, the food is well prepared but small portions. The service aims to please, but can fall short if you are in a hurry. I don’t know why it’s not listed under restaurants as they serve many things. I have gone there for breakfast omelettes mostly, but the pastries are delicious as well. Unfortunately if you’re sitting outside in the morning its gone slightly downhill as there are more homeless people and mentally disturbed walking by on Main St then I have seen there before, not dangerous but sad and unsettling at times. I would give it a solid 3 stars, and if the above improved a bit, four stars.

Wow! Best french food I’ve ever had. I had the«Croq’ Monsieur» for lunch: «toasted ham and cheese on bread with a delicious béchamel sauce». If you like your sandwiches warm, soft and saucy like I do, this specialty sandwich will send you to the moon. Unbelievably subtle and delicious flavor combination. And my wife loved her«Quiche Lorraine»(bacon and cheese); what that popular dish is supposed to taste like. And the ambiance makes it feel like you’ve escaped to a French café for a getaway — inside and outside seating; terra-cotta tile inside and lots of French being spoken everywhere. Take your girl there; it’s got a quaint, romantic vibe.

Terribly slow service but food was good enough. I had a huge salad and it was great. I would go back again just for it and big hunk of crispy bread.

We frequent Sarasota and cannot visit without stopping here for pastries. Namely the strawberry croissants and macarons. You’ve normally got to call ahead and reserve strawberry croissants unless you get there early & if you’re lucky they’ll have vanilla macarons. Definitely the best of both items I’ve ever had!!! Side note: the service is nothing special and the servers are always in a rush and zooming by and looking unhappy but don’t let that stop you.

Even their baguettes aren’t good; I’ve had better from my local supermarket. Theirs are an embarrassment to French people.

I would give a zero if possible. We had the rudest male waiter who was not the least bit interested in making our breakfast a pleasant experience. We ordered two croissants inside snd were told to sit at a table. He arrives and drops the croissants at our table and doesn’t ask if we want something to drink. No utensils or napkins. My husband goes inside and asks I these and they say it’ll be right out. The waiter comes out and proceeds to clear off tables ignoring us. I approach the waiter and ask about my husbands jam and I get a curt response yeah I’ll get it. Croissants and cappuccinos were good. We will not come back here.

Crepes are delicious but service was extremely lacking. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside. Our waitress was not friendly, scoffed at our request for plain food for our toddler, and never refilled our drinks. Most of my meal was with nothing to drink at all as my cappuccino was served well before our order was even placed. She also never brought our bill, my husband had to request one from another employee. I wouldn’t go back simply due to the service we received. Extremely disappointed.

Any time in this life you can sit outside in nice weather, eat decent food and do some people watching, you should. I had the Monte Carlo sandwich and it was great. Go here and sit outside and eat. You’ll swear you are in Paris– you’ll even see big Americans walking by in cargo shorts and embarrassingly bright tennis shoes– just like Paris.

I love coming here … when I am in no hurry. Service is super slow. Consistency is not good either, yet when the quiche is fresh, it tastes delicious. Their croissants are the best I have had in Sarasota. It takes them forever to make a cappuccino, and the results are not exactly amazing yet will do in a pinch. If you have a leisurely afternoon and want a small bite, check this place out. Street side eatery with french speaking wait staff.

I love this place!!! I am french and miss my food every day. So sometimes we drive from tampa for a french threat. And I come here! The viennoiseries are just awesome, like in France and the price is almost like our french boulangerie!!! I recently went to a french pastry in Orlando it was just terrible. Overpriced, frozen pasties, services terrible… In Sarasota you have french pastries and french services. And I personally love it! They don’t come every 5min asking you if everything ok. I Hate those kind of service. You barely eat more they come ask you again!

I bought a galette des rois yesterday. It was awful, overcook, hard like it was a few days old. I warmed it a little in oven to try to soften it… Supermarket galette in France are a million times better and much cheaper! A rip off

We went for lunch and dessert. Lunch salad was o.k., but I advise skipping the sensible meal and ordering two desserts. Their baked goods are amazing. We bought about eight types for a family event and all were great.

I love it here. I have been coming here for 10 years and the consistency is magnificent. Good bread, good pastries, good simple food. Definitely the best true french café in the city. The staff has always been wonderful. Several servers have been there as long as I have been coming and offer plenty friendly conversation even though I rarely make it by anymore(moved). If you do not get along here, you need to re examine how you act.

If I were only rating the fresh baked breads and pastries, I would give 5 stars, but the service is horrible just like you’re in France. It’s amazing how little they care, or even acknowledge you when you walk in the door. I’m a huge fan of their hazelnut brownie tho, so I go back regularly for that and the croissants.

Incredible breakfast crepes. The pastries are unmatched. I had a bacon, cheese, and mushroom crêpe on wheat and I loved it. I will certainly come back. My wife had a bread pudding pastry and also loved it. The potatoes that come with it were a bit average, but the crêpe easily made up for it. The coffee was also very good. I had black coffee and my wife had a mocha. My black coffee was good but her mocha tasted a little too much like hot chocolate and not enough like coffee with chocolate. Great service and wasn’t too busy on a Saturday morning.

Wonderful, very authentic French patisserie. My daughters love to stop here on the way to school in the morning for a croissant or pastries. They say it reminds me of Paris — I have to agree. True to Parisian style, this is not fast food or service. If you have the time, enjoy breakfast outside and watch the pigeons and the passer-byes as you delight in the excellent crepes and a wonderful blend of coffee. One of the regular servers must also be the owner — he is always there and obviously speaks French as his first language.

Oh my! I ordered a buche de noel for Christmas. I’m not from the area, so I just googled a good french bakery. I was sooooo pleasantly surprised. The aroma coming from this place a few blocks down was delightful! I so wish we were eating here. Next time for sure :) We brought the buche de noel and we couldn’t wait to dig in. It was the best dessert hands down. We still talk about it!!! Next year, go and get one.
