I grew up in Northern New Jersey and have very high standards when it comes to pizza. I’ve tried many of the places in the Sarasota area and this some of the best and most authentic pizza I’ve had. We placed a «to go» order for a 16″ pizza with sausage, peppers and onions, and a small tossed salad with Italian dressing. The crust was cooked perfectly. We were actually able to eat the crust on the edge of the pizza, which a lot of places here can’t seem to get right(it’s usually burned at other pizza places around here). The toppings were all added in the correct proportions. The sauce was very tasty. The salad was relatively standard(but all her ingredients were fresh). The Italian dressing was very good and seemed it may have been homemade, or if it was not then the owner made the right choice about which dressing brand to buy. Overall it’s my favorite pizza I’ve had so far and I will continue to order from here. Only thing I should mention is that it was kind of hot inside the restaurant and I would have been uncomfortable if I was eating in, but that’s Florida for you.

I really like the hint of rosemary in this pizza(hope they weren’t trying to keep that a secret). Owner is very friendly and since we were last in the place, whole staff chatted with us. Nice time — not for the ambiance snobs, though.

If you are looking for a pizza, avoid this place at all cost. Overpriced and the pizza was really unappetizing. There are plenty of pizza places in Sarasota and Osprey so why go to one as bad as this one.

Don’t EVER go to this place! They are a total rip off and rude. We are from out of town and all we wanted was a pepperoni pizza /and half with mushrooms, and, an order of wings. They not only called us 3 times to figure out our order — not the smartest crayons in the box Then they charged us for two small pizzas because we wanted half with mushrooms. We called in to complain because only half of our pizza had pepperoni and they said, «You got exactly what you fucking paid for and called my dad a fat ass»

This is another one of those«I am a NY pizza snob» type posts where I go to a restaurant to try a slice from a place that claims to be owned by a NYer. I’m always pretty skeptical when I go on these little adventures but am willing to give it a fair shot. When I first walked in and found out the the owner is actually from WAY upstate NY and not the city, I got pretty worried. I sat down and ordered a plain slice and a side salad with blue cheese dressing on the side. The salad came out and(good first impression) was NOT iceberg lettuce! It was a mesclun mix with beautiful, thick, red tomato slices, black olives, onions and fresh mushrooms on top. The dressing was pretty darn good too. So far, so good. A few minutes later, the owner brought my slice over, piping hot from the oven and looking an awful lot like a NY slice. BIG, flat, bubbly top, and the right ratio of cheese to sauce to crust. Hmmmm. Could it be? I took a bite. WOW. Ok. I am impressed. This IS a NY slice after all. Is it the best slice ever? Well, no, but let’s be realistic. The truth is that the classic NY slice has a lot to do with the water there, and no one outside of NYC will really ever be able to duplicate that. But this was definitely the closest to NY I’ve had since I moved here a few months ago. Ah. Good enough to evoke nostalgia. The crust was the right mix of crunchy and chewy, the flavor of the sauce was spot-on; not too sweet, the right amount, and the cheese was exactly right. I added my sprinkling of oregano and parmesan– which was on the table like it should be, and it made for a VERY satisfying lunch. BRAVO to you G’s! Bonus that it’s about ¼ mile from where I work. I will absolutely be back. YAY!
