Came here based on Unilocal reviews. In town for a show, theater review to follow(Alvin Ailey= AMAZING) and wanted to have dinner prior to the show. Well thank you Unilocalers we had a lovely meal and visit with the owner(it’s new– I was there in February). I hope to make it back this season to follow up, great food and EXEMPLARY service(hand cut fries= love).

We are on vacation and found this restaurant on Unilocal and loved the reviews and menu, we drove an hour to come try it, when we got here there are signs in the windows that they are closed for family issues but it looks like it’s been closed for awhile and a couple locals that passed us while outside said it’s been like that for weeks now, such a dissapointment

Ordered the Santana platter(chips with salsa and guac)…usually I find that I’m left with an abundance of chips and no dip left, but the Famous Tavern gives you nice portions of salsa and guac. Also ordered a Turkey Melt that comes with slaw and tots or fries. Yum! Strange, because this bar only serves beer and wine – never encountered that before. But the beer was cheap! I had the Kona Longboard, which was on tap for $ 5.50. It was so delicious! They also had live music, which was nice but that ended around 10… which resulted in a bunch of people leaving and their music playing softly in the background. Their TVs also have Netflix… which is also a bit strange. The cheap beer and great service would have me back!

Kinda interesting place: the décor is tragic, especially with the weird DJ booth/manager office in the middle of the floor. Restaurant was empty when we showed up, with 3 servers and a bartender; yet, it took over 10 mins for someone to come over and say hi. After the initial bits, service improved and the food was pretty good. Overall, not to bad — perhaps refine yourself slightly and things will be a lot better.

We came in after a lovely evening at the Players Theater looking for a drink and some food. Sadly, the kitchen had just closed and we were about to head out the door when they re-opened the kitchen and invited us to stay. It was the best decision as the food was by far the best value for your dollar for such scrumptious food. We had a lovely hummus platter, goat cheese coins fried in a walnut crust, a fabulous mac and cheese, and some tater tots(cuz we are classy like that!!). The owner saw that we were throwing a bachelorette party for my friend and came up to the table with a mini champagne bottle for her. That was the icing on the cake as far as we were concerned. GREATSTAFF, YUMMYFOOD! We will be back.

Great beer selection and not your topical bar fare. Lots of local brews. Good classic rock sound mix.

A traditional, friendly bar with no pretensions, a good place to get a beer and catch a game. The food is made from scratch in house and was a pleasant surprise. We shared a flatbread and a charcuterie plate. We went for a beer, but would go back for the food.

A cozy sophisticated neighborhood tavern! Great selections of craft beer and wine! It’s my favorite place to go chat with my girlfriends, have a nice glass(or two) of wine, nibble on a meat and cheese plate, and enjoy great music. Oh, and sometimes I let the husband tag along so he can enjoy a football game and a Cotton Mouth on draft. And, did I mention the shrimp appetizer(AKA«Southern Cross») It’s divine!
