This is the second time in 2 weeks I’ve joined«notorious» Rob S. at an establishment that serves liquor at which he is a Unilocal duke. And Rob is 2 for 2 in my book, as I found 9 Maple very enjoyable. I have other places in Saratoga I go for beer, for pub and grub, and for wine. Now I have my place for cocktails. First, I like its location. And by that, I mean it’s not on Broadway, it’s not on Phila, it’s not on Caroline, and it’s not on Henry. Maple Ave. is still slightly off the beaten path, and as a result it’s not quite so boisterous(though you can see the«boister» on Caroline from the entrance). I feel that finds its way inside as well. This is a place in which you should get a seat at the bar and enjoy well prepared cocktails while chatting with your friends and also the bartenders. My experience went up another notch when I decided I wanted to go beyond«house shelf» for my drink. So with a little help from infamous Rob and a bunch more help from the bartenders, I settled on the right brand name liquor, but also a well-recommended brand name liqueur(in this case, a vermouth) for my drink. The result was an incredibly smooth drink, enhanced even more by multiple alcohol infused black cherries in the drink — I would have ordered a glass full of the cherries if that were actually possible. Two other things that impressed me were that some food was available on a stand in the back(sandwiches), and my drink was served with a glass of water — this is something I always have to request every place else I have imbibed. My blood-alcohol content for the evening prevented me from ordering more, though I wanted to. I especially want to try their take on a Saratoga Cocktail. I can see why several of my friends frequent 9 Maple. That will be my intent when I am in town as well.

This is a very nice cocktail bar. It’s a comfortable setting, with the best stocked bar I have ever been to. The bartenders are knowledgeable and professional. They make amazing drinks. They have live jazz and if you pay with cash, you will get a little more bang for your buck. This place is, in my opinion, what a fine drinking establishment should be. It’s classy, elegant, and very relaxing. I love this bar

Best cocktail bar in Saratoga… Knowledgeable staff and a perfectly dim, quiet bar on week nights, yet crowded and jazzy on weekends. Massive scotch and whisky selection.

Best bar in Saratoga with a top notch selection of bourbon and scotch. A cocktail menu unmatched by anyone else in town. Music selection is great and relaxing. The go to place for a cocktail both in season and off season. Bartenders are extremely knowledgable and create outstanding cocktails. Overall a top three establishment in Saratoga.

Best bar in Saratoga. Your not getting the young crazy crowd and it’s a bar filled with jazz and every bourbon and scotch you want. The bartenders are very professional and it’s obvious the owner takes great pride in keeping the bars standards high. This bar is always busy and there is a good reason for that.

This place is brown liquor nirvana! One of the best manhattans I’ve ever had. Highly recommend stopping in for a cocktail, Jake is a gentleman and a scholar behind the slab!

We’ve only been here for drinks, but what a spot for drinks. It’s tiny, but the bartenders are professionals and the offerings are superb. It’s dark, it’s moody and as far as I’m concerned, near perfect!

Came here for the espresso martini and it was def the best I’ve had! Small place w a huge bar to sit at, not much standing room. Loved the live jazz band too. Oh and they have a book of all there martins, probably hundreds of options.

Great bar, very knowledgeable bartenders(who wear white oxfords and ties — classy), excellent selection of bourbons(A+), scotch, vodkas, and other spirits, fabulous mixed drinks. No food that I’m aware of aside from the peanuts on the bar top. It’s a little pricey, but I don’t think it’s that bad. $ 9 for a martini made with good gin or vodka isn’t off the rails. It’s a small bar and can get crowded and warm. It’s an intimate space for sure, but very nice. All dark wood and low lighting. Snazzy. They have live jazz on Fridays and Saturdays from 9PM — 1AM, with a $ 2 cover. Jazz nights are just too loud for me personally. If you want to be able to talk, go on a night without a band.

It’s ironic that a town that is supposed to have tourism rooted at the core of it’s industry can produce so many places with folks who really should be working alone in a basement for Initech. And for cocktails priced higher than places in cities with far more sophistication… This place has the hootch but the attitude is so offensive, that the Tin and Lint and a Genny Crème ale might be more appealing than to deal with these asshats.

Had quite a tasty cocktail that tasted like an awesome version of cherry Hawaiian Punch. YUM! This bar was a perfect little speakeasy, lovely jazz music subtly playing in the background. This is definitely the place to go alone or with a group for the perfect cocktail and a touch of class!

Without a doubt my favorite bar in Saratoga. Best cocktails in town and quality live jazz. As someone who has done some bar hopping from New Orleans to New York, 9 Maple is right there at the top of my list.

A really nice change from the bars on Caroline. On the weekends, there is live jazz music, but the place is tiny so be ready to fight a bit for space and/or a seat. Great selection of scotch and other whiskeys, well crafted cocktails. Recently, I’ve experienced great service– others mention pretentiousness or rudeness from the waiters but I don’t agree with that. The past couple times I’ve been served a cold glass of filtered water(without ordering it) along with my cocktail which was a nice little addition. When I didn’t know what kind of alcohol I wanted in my manhattan, the bartender understood I wasn’t very knowledgable about bourbon, rye, etc. and politely helped me decide. Also, past reviews mention how expensive the cocktails are, but the past few times my drinks have only been $ 9, which is very reasonable considering the quality. Overall, this place is definitely worth checking out and a unique bar in Saratoga.

Before I moved back to this area I was walking around one night with my girlfriend and we found this quiet unsuspecting bar with a green awning that just said 9 Maple. Seeking solace from the awful cover music that was blasting from City Tavern, we went in. The doorman informed us it was a $ 2 cover, a price I was more than willing to pay out of curiosity alone. We walked in and immediately felt at ease. Dimly lit, the place reminded me of the kind of bar Ron Burgundy would have a members only meeting at. Oh, and they have a extensive Scotch list. We were greeted by our very debonair and well bearded bartender. I always like to see a man who takes pride in his ability to grow facial hair and this man was no exception. We both ordered off their cocktail list. I had a manhatten on the rocks, while my lady rocked a vodka martini. Both drinks were not made with haste but craft and care. The martini glass was given proper time to chill while my manhatten was stirred to mix. At $ 12 a piece, some might call this place pricey but you pay for what you get and that’s quality and a great atmosphere. They will also inform you about new scotches to try and suggest something for you. I now frequent this place after a long rehearsal or day of work just to wind down and enjoy the live jazz that is playing. An excellent stop for one drink or more. And enjoy the complimentary peanuts!

On our way home from a gig farther upstate the night before, we hit a snowstorm and decided to stay in Saratoga Springs for the night. After a couple of beers and dinner bopping around town in the snow, this place was recommended for a night cap and I’m sure glad we stopped in. Amazing selection of Scotches, friendly, knowledgable bartender, and a really nice crowd(we struck up conversations with a bunch of different people) I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in the area. If you’re looking for a nice cocktail in a cool bar with a great vibe, I highly recommend this place.

Best cocktails in Saratoga! Espresso martinis are always a good choice. My go to is always a simple vodka martini. Bartenders are very knowledgeable and great mixers.

This is a small bar off Maple Ave. Inside is a nice wooden bar with a great selection of whiskey, scotch and martinis. The jazz band playing didn’t blow the place away. These bartenders KNOW what they are doing. They have plenty of beer on tap but the mixed drinks are goood. I recommend an espresso martini or specialty highball.(about $ 8 per) There is a menu for both. I went a little late on Friday night and it looked like I missed out on a hoagie platter that must have been put out for Happy Hour. No matter. Hoagies aren’t the reason to go here. Great drinks and a nice atmosphere are. A hidden gem and one of my favorite bars in Saratoga.
