A Chinese restaurant to avoid, especially in this area, where you can find delicious restaurants specializing in Sichuanese, Shanghainese, Dongbei, Cantonese, and Taiwanese cuisine. Do not recommend.

Family owned, very pleasant lady, spicy string bean, almond chicken were very good, sweet and sour fish was fantastic, made the sauce fresh, not from a bottle. Food cooked well, not greasy. Coming again for sure. Recommended.

Lemon Chicken is my personal favorite but all their dishes are so yummy. The Luo family has been running this eatery for 11 years. It deeply saddens me that they are closing their doors on Sept.25th, 2013. They were given a notice on August 9, 2013 to vacate by the owner«Mr Peter Pau» They asked for an extention until December but, Mr Pau wanted more parking spots for the company that just moved in a few months ago. «Roku». In addition to this, Google employees began parking in same lot only to be picked up by the google bus that makes 4 stops daily. Pau probably gets a hefty fee for google employees to use parking spots that should be for current businesses like Yong Lo Garden. Once this GREAT resturaunt is gone, I will do little to no business there. Mr Pau has Karma to look forward to. News story in Mercury news. dated 9-1-2013

This family-run restaurant has been a neighborhood favorite for 11 years. We all know the Kuo family — they work very hard to serve delicious food in a clean and quaint atmosphere. After their 11 years at this location, the landlord(Sand Hill Properties — Peter Pau) has abruptly terminated their lease. A very strange thing to do in a shopping center that is ½ empty. After all the hassle they(and all of us around here) went through with Roku building out their offices inside the shopping center, it was a shock that they are being forced out end of September 2013. We will miss the Kuo family. They have been wonderful neighborhood friends.

The food isn’t of the best quality or the most delicious Chinese food I have ever had. We each ordered the lunch special, which includes a veggie egg roll, side of rice, and a main dish. I got the Szechuan beef lunch special. I cannot understand why this restaurant has such good reviews. I always read Unilocal reviews with GREAT skepticism because people are not very discriminating.

This is my favorite local family run Chinese restaurant. I always have good service and tasty dishes. I love the honey walnut prawns & spicy green beans. Great place for takeout or dine in as it’s not usually very crowded.

Excellent service, excellent food. Plenty of parking in the plaza. Small restaurant with tables if wanting to dine in. Mostly take out, it seems. We dined there. Great service. Excellent food. We shared the egg rolls, pork dumplings, and the sesame chicken. All awesome. I really liked the egg rolls. The sesame chicken was great, it was crispy and the sauce had just the right amount of sweet. I’d definitely go back!

Good Chinese food in a family run restaurant. The noodles are yummy be it the chow mein, the potstickers, or the spicy soup with noodles. I really enjoyed the spicy fried prawns and garlic and the fried eggplant. Really good food in a low key restaurant.

My family and I were in the mood for Chinese food and wanted to try a new restaurant. We decided to give Yong Lo Garden a try and was not impressed by their food and service. We ordered mixed vegetables, lemon chicken, and black bean shrimp. The vegetables were decent, full of flavor, but nothing extraordinary. The black bean shrimp was good but had a slight charred flavor that I didn’t particularly enjoy. It tasted like their was some residue from the wok in the food. Finally, the lemon chicken was horrible. I’ve had my share of lemon chicken and this one was the worst one I have ever tasted. It was so sweet that I felt like I was eating lemon pie chicken. I am baffled how a cook could make something like that! When we told the waiter that the chicken was not edible he told us that we should have told him sooner when he was making his rounds. I felt that was inappropriate, as he did not even ask us how the food was when he stopped by our table. A waiter should always ask how the food is, and he completely forgot to do that. Overall, I would not come back or recommend Yo Long Garden.

This has been my favorite Chinese restaurant for years. Everything I have ordered here has been delicious. They have AWESOME dumpling appetizers, chicken is my favorite, they are so soft and delicious. The chow fun noodle nearly melt in your mouth. Best. Noodles. Ever.

Since I can never turn down noodles, I decided to give this place a try. It was stop 3 of what happened to be my noodle week. I came here with friends and ordered what they recommended. Black bean noodle. Third time having it this week. This ranks #2, but I have to give it to Tong Soon to be #1 since their noodles were better. These noodles were similar but they lacked the chewiness that I love about handmade noodles. Sweet and Sour Pork. Golden yellow sauce instead of red, suppose to be more authentic. The pork has lots of breading, which I sort of liked, but I guess it does make the piece of meat smaller. Pork dumplings. 2nd time having this this week. IDumpling where I ate a food days ago wins out here. These are hand made, but their dough is not bad, but IDumpling is just a bit tastier.

This place is a little hidden gem. Great food, great service and not crowded. We do take out quite a bit and this place is close, convenient and always good food.

Came here for take-out over the weekend. Yong Lo Garden came up in my Unilocal search results in the vicinity, and I couldn’t help but notice is great reviews. To be honest, food is probably a 3 or 3.5 star, but I’ve been eating Chinese food all my life, so I tend to get either critical or bored. I’m not saying that it wasn’t tastey, though. However, I’m bumping my rating up to 4 stars because of the kind service and the cleaniness of their restaurant. The restaurant is very small, and was empty when I arrived around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. Then again, it’s located in a neighborhood plaza in Saratoga that’s never too busy to begin with. The place was very clean, though, and you can tell that this family really puts a lot of care into their restaurant. I ordered: Hot & Sour Soup: I’m really picky about my hot & sour soup. This one was very standard, though I usually prefer mine a little more hot and a little more sour. Ma Po Tofu: Mmmm. I requested that they made mine extra spicy. Could’ve been a little more spicy, but I could’ve just added Sriracha in myself. Yummy. Egg Rolls & Chicken Potstickers: The egg rolls come with four pieces and the potstickers come with six. These were for my boyfriend. I tried an egg roll, but not any potstickers. The egg rolls were ok. Could have been crispier, but I also ordered as take-out, so oh well. Overall, I was satisfied, and the gentleman at the front desk who assisted me was very accommodating. This restaurant is very close to my boyfriend’s house in Saratoga and I wouldn’t mind coming back here to dine in-house sometime.

Thanks Unilocalers. Nice rec. Tiny place(seven tables). Family run(nice folks). Food is standard fare, but very well done and fresh. Green beans with garlic were the best I’ve ever had. Bursting fresh and perfectly cooked. Dumplings and noodles are home-made and you can taste the difference. Great place for takeout and parties of 6 or less. Yum.

Came here with two friends from high school. The place is tiny, but clean. We ordered the hot and sour soup, combination meat chow fun, broccoli beef, and Szechuan chicken. Everything was satisfying except for the hot and sour soup. I’m a huge fan of hot and sour soup and am pretty critical of the ingredients and flavor. Normally you’ll find pork strips, but Yong Lo decides to put shrimp in theirs. I wouldn’t have been opposed to this, except the shrimp tasted… old? I’m not sure if that’s the right word but it tasted like it was frozen. The soup was over-spiced, I couldn’t really taste the bamboo, egg, or pork, just pepper. However that’s where my complaints stop. I’m normally not a fan of chow fun since I’m really sensitive to dry noodles, the combination chow fun here was moist, nicely cooked, and the meat complemented the dish well. The szechuan chicken was spicy, exactly what we were looking for. And of course my favorite, broccoli beef had tender meat and crunch stalks. I’ll definitely come here again, but will try a different soup.

After reading all of the rave reviews I figured I would give this place a try. I was really impressed. The restaurant was extremely small and empty, but that did not reflect the food whatsoever. Almost all of their dishes are home made and I have not tried a single dish their that disappointed. Some of my favorites are their chow mein, szechuan shrimp, general’s chicken, hot and sour soup, and their pot stickers. This is a great family run business and they will have my business for years to come! P. S. Bring back the shrimp pot stickers!

I usually dont try new things, but when i do, i rely on reviews to guide me. I checked on here before me and my girlfriend went to dinner. We wanted to try a new place and see how it went. Let me tell you that we both agree it was a great choice. The service was great. The guy there always made sure we were good. even when people came in with pick up orders, he always made sure to follow up with us on how were were doing. Great Service! The food was really good! The rice and chow mein portions were a good size for two(maybe 3) depending on what you get for your main dish. Their spicy garlic shrimp was great. and i believe my girlfirend got spicy chicken. We both enjoyed our dinner Will definetly go here again in the future!

We had a great dinner. Tuesday night, and it was just us in the restaurant. The center the restaurant is in is super quiet, so I am sure that is part of it since it is in the middle of residential in Saratoga. Let’s talk about the dinner… we started with steamed chicken dumplings and soup. Both awesome. Then, we had broccoli beef and kung pao shrimp. Both were also great — not super saucy, not super starchy. Just fresh and flavorful. The restaurant was clean and the service friendly. I drank a ton of the fresh hot tea they bring to your table! We’ll be back to try some other plates as we were super pleased, and also didn’t feel sick later that night or the next morning from having a ton of grease. Because, we didn’t have any grease!

This little hole in the wall never has enough people visiting them. But you know, this place is SOLEGIT, it’s pretty damn close to my mom’s cooking. If you know my previous reviews, I am seriously particular about my Chinese restaurants… so when I say this place is good, I MEANIT! Their dumplings/won tons are particularly amazing. Homemade little pieces of happiness, that’s what they are. They are fantastic steamed or pan fried– they’re my favorites! Other dishes are also quite good here, like your standard FRIEDRICE, and etc. but I had to give a shoutout to my bff wontons! The service is also quite friendly– since we are oftentimes the only table frequenting the entire place, we get to actually hold a conversation with the folks running the place. Seriously, though. You should go here. For lunch, dinner, whatever. Their soups are also really good comfort food for when you’re feeling under the weather!
