Dear Wife, Dinner tonight comes with a story. I bought this wonderful piece of salmon at Andy’s. We’ve lived near here for over 20 years. I’d never gone in before. After paying Town Fair Tire nothing to repair my tire(nail in tread) I figured I would stop next door for a nice piece of fish. I met the owner. He seems like a very nice guy. I asked him if this shop had been here forever. He said that he started working in the shop with his folks when he was six. So for him it is forever. He’s about our age, so you know what I mean. He asked if I wanted my salmon thick or thin. How much do I want? Skin on or off(On of course, for the flavor.) He rounded the weight down. He rounded the change up(5.00 instead of 4.50). Smiles, hand shakes. Hey, it’s worth a little extra to support a local family business, right? I hope that you like this salmon, because I’ll be back. Love, Husband

Great prices, great signs. Unfortunately, they don’t serve«cry-baby soup.»

I have been an Andy’s customer for about 15 years and can honestly say I have had top notch fish each and every time. Just got a big order for Christmas Eve for the Feast of the Seven Fishes, and more for Christmas Day. Everyone raved about my dishes, as they do each year :) I won’t go anywhere else for my fish… I know it will be fresh and delicious.

For one, the seafood here is merely okay. There is very little selection, then on top of that, they only accept cash, no credit cards. I go here occasionally but it’s not my first choice. I go either to Rowand’s in Beverly, Patriot Lobster in Salem(which is really a wholesaler), or if I want the largest selection, Cherry Street Fish Market. But the main reason I’m posting is that I drove by today, 12÷12÷12, and on their large sign, which highlights specials, it said«King Obama Crab Legs». Is that really necessary?!? You may not agree with our President’s policies, but calling him names does not speak well of you. Chances are, using the term«King» also tells me you only watch Fox News, which is the only channel that refers to him as «king» or «the anointed one.» In any case, you can have your opinion, but is it also necessary to call anyone names publicly? And doing it to your buying customers, some of whom may not only not share the same views, is not going to help you stay in business. You can count on me that not only will I not return again, but will let everyone I know about the sign. And don’t confuse this with«freedom of speech» issues as the latter only refers to citizens versus government imposition. Public protests against businesses do not fall into the 1st amendment rights category.

I have bought fresh fish here that is as good and as fresh as any you will find, I have also bought fish here that was not as fresh as it could have been. At close to fifteen dollars per pound for haddock I expect more consistrency in the quality of the product.

Smelled like rotten fish. We went in and out in about 5 minutes. Perhaps once a great fish market?
