I grew up going to the Kelly’s on revere beach and I’m utterly disappointed in the decline of the franchise over all. I find the saugus location to be the worst. The food is drastically overpriced and passable at best. The clam chowder fails in comparison to it’s prior glory. I eat here on occasion now because every couple of months I forget how bad it’s gotten. Lendy’s Deli is pretty much next door and has better food at better prices.

Never had a bad experience here. The food is yummy, the service is fast and they staff is friendly. Love the chicken fingers and fries.

Second time that when I have asked for another tarter sauce they don’t give it! Also, this time they had me pull into the first parking lot today… we waited and waited and then we saw another car pull up in front of the door and the wait staff person went out to that car and then went back inside with our food… by the time we got the food home(5 minutes) it was cold. We had to go inside to retrieve our food. We will be going to Revere Beach for our food from now on. People taking car orders — get with it!

Roast beef was very cold and dry. Fries were mediocre and onion rings were really thickly cut and the breaking just fell off of the onion completely. The best part of the meal was the Barq’s root beer.

I have been to Kelly’s hundreds of times. But this time wasn’t so good. I got the lobster roll which is usually good but it was wet and it made my roll soggy. Take something as simple as a lobster roll done right it is absolutely delicious but today it fell short. My husband got a large roast beef, it was dry. We got a side order french fries which had a terrible aftertaste. It’ll be awhile before I go back again.

I ordered a lobster roll, but some idiot put a hot dog in instead, so I payed $ 20 for a hot dog. Worst customer service I have ever had. The manager Tom has pointy nipples and every time I would look at them I would lose my appetite. Worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had. Nobody should ever come here, same your money. Did mention The prices are ridiculously high.

This is the most frustrating place. Have been to this place on 10+ occasions and it just will never be the original kelly’s on the beach. I have had at least 5 terrible experiences. Last time I waited over 20 minutes for 2 cheeseburgers in the drive through while about 10 other cars behind me were served. 20 minutes for a cheeseburger is ridiculous. Kelly’s can be great when the staff feels like caring. If they don’t, you are paying TOPDOLLAR($ 10 for a large roast beef) for food that is probably cold, fatty, thrown together, old etc. This place lacks the pride of the original kelly’s and is a disgrace. Damn shame. I will never be going back to this place. sick and tired of getting home with crappy food i paid $ 30 for or waiting for over 20 minutes. Place is a rip off now. They’re surviving on the name and there’s better roast beef and other food all over the place.

I’ve only been to this location once and the Revere location once, but there is a clear difference in quality between the two locations. I’d easily give the Revere location 5 stars just for the value and taste of their lobster roll. The lobster roll here, however was altogether smaller, and the lobster itself did not taste as fresh and was not nearly as delightfully plump. I didn’t sit down to eat my roll until at least 45 minutes after I purchased it, yet the lobster was so cold that I can only imagine it must have been a seafood popsicle at the time of purchase. While this is something that I’m sensitive to, my friend who also had lobster rolls from both locations honestly couldn’t taste a difference and likely would have given equal ratings to both locations.

One of my pet peeves is going through Kelly’s drive through and being asked to wait for my order in the parking lot. Their french fries made me sad. Soggy, greasy and on the cold side. Although I’ve got to admit, they make a mean roast beef sandwich and some pretty awesome chicken fingers.

Small scallops, small fry, bottle of water. $ 29.31. Scallops were tasteless. Kelly’s Roast Beef in Saugus doesn’t use sanitizer on the tables & puts the crumbs on the floor. It got two stars bc the service was good.

Never disappoints! The gluten free turkey club is my favorite. The only downside to this location is that if you use the drive through it takes 10 – 15 minutes for your order to be ready and they usually have you pull up to the door to allow additional time for preparation. However it is well worth the wait, the food is fresh the bread is nice and toasty. Certainly a great to-go spot going in or out of Boston!

If it was an option I would give it a zero for stars. We ate a roast beef sandwich which the bun was hard the roast beef was bland. The item was cold we sent it back. They said they put fresh product on my plate. It still tastes like it was sitting under a hot lamp. Very pour quality. My wife’s burger was cold. I talked to a manager she offered me a comp, I said I did not like it the first time, so I don t want come back again. There was nothing else she could do. Paid $ 18.08 and did not get what I paid for. Store manager Artie at cell no. 781−771−9350 was not helpful at all. I then called Corporate office Dean Murphy, 781−233−5700 which is in the same location which was not helpful. I would not go to this place at all.

Been coming to Kellys since i was a youth! Food is consistent and you get bang for your buck! Home made onion rings, great roast beast, fried seafood is also a star. Try the clam chowder, it is in a thin flavorful broth. If you are a true eater order up the large size fry it will astound you ! You might have to hire a sherpa to bring it out to your car. The rest of the menu offers up salads and corned beef sandwiches, burgers and the best hot dogs, i believe they are made by Kayem ! Bring your appetite,

My review of Kelly’s in Saugus is long overdue, as I frequent them more often than any other business establishment. I’m kind of a picky(read: difficult) eater. At most restaurants, I tend to find one thing on their menu that I really like and order that every time I go there. Kelly’s is one of the only places where I don’t always already know what I’m getting when I walk in the door, because they have so many things that I like. The hamburgers, chicken fingers and roast beef sandwiches are delicious. They have probably my favorite hot dogs of any restaurant anywhere(those butter-grilled buns!). Ditto on the french fries, which are mid-sized(thinner than steak fries, thicker than shoestrings) and delicious with or without ketchup. I’m not a seafood fan, so I’ll leave that up to other reviewers. I love that they have the drink machine with tons of choices. I have made trips to Kelly’s just to get a cherry Fanta(which, if there was any justice, would be sold in every store and restaurant in America). Only very rarely do they make a mistake on my order. I live right down the street, so it’s probably no stretch to say that I’ve been to Kelly’s at least once every 10 or so days for the last 10+ years, and in that time I could probably count the number of times they’ve screwed up my order on one hand. By comparison, the 99 up the road, which I visit with *much* less frequency, has probably gotten my order wrong more often than that just within my last 7 visits. Just about the only complaint I could make is that sometimes it annoys me that they tend to put some burger toppings on the underside of the beef patty, which to me is just weird. I mean, they’re called ‘TOPpings’. But hey, if this is my major complaint with them, they’re doing pretty well. The prices can feel a little on the high side, but at the same time, the portions are pretty generous. I’ve never walked away from Kelly’s feeling underfed. I’m also a night owl, so it’s great to have somewhere nearby that’s open so late(dining room closes at 1AM, the drive-thru is open until 3, with a slightly limited menu). Having a restaurant I love this much right around the corner from my house can be both a blessing and a curse, but I’m glad they’re there.

Frequented this place multiple times… And flavor is what you looking for do not go here. If you are a geriatric you would love this place. Try using some salt and pepper next time. Man! It’s always the same bland food

Kelly’s has got a big reputation but continuously disappoints. The staff is always friendly and the place is very clean, but the food is overpriced and spotty. It is convenient and there is lots of parking, but there are better options nearby. The most memorable thing about it is they have a great aquarium to entertain the kids.

Anyone rating Kelly’s anything less than four stars doesn’t know good food and should be banned from ever reviewing on Unilocal. There I said it. Kelly’s is the place to go for lunch, or a late night snack. Get The Reuben sandwich you will love it. They also have a darn good Roast beef sandwich and Lobster roll… The clam chowder to my surprise was simply outstanding. Looks kinda watery, but full of flavor and plenty of clams. Make sure to get a cup to go with your meal. The location couldn’t be better, especially for first time visitors staying at nearby Hotels. Route one offers many choices on Hotels, Shopping centers and Restaurants. Kelly’s offers a late night drive thru till 3am, I suggest you stop in on your next visit.
