Had reservations on Valentines Day for 2PM. Seated promptly and service was exceptional. Prices reasonable for the area. Carnitas and Chili Relleno were very good as were the chicken enchiladas. Margaritas were awesome as were the chips, guac, and salsa. The Sangria was way too clovey but we were warned beforehand. Overall a great meal and experience. Very highly recommend.

Worst attitude by staff that I have experienced in the Bay Area! If you hate people that much you should not be in the service industry. I honest can’t comment on the food because I sat on the patio for 30 mins and could barely get a coffee. So I left and I will never return simply because of how I was treated.

Heaven forbid you go there on a late night, they close early and stop serving. Drove all the way out of San Francisco to be turned away at the door. Won’t be going back.

Delicious foods. The starter cup of fresh jicama and cucumber, with lime and chili powder is just perfect. This is where Mexican cuisine and California Fresh find synonymous harmony. The ceviche was SUPERB. Very fresh ingredients, and a perfect balance of flavors. The mahi-mahi tacos were perfect, very fresh fish, fresh vegetables, and hand-made in-house, corn-redolent tortillas. The colorful interior and friendly staff are a perfect complement to the simple-ingredients + classy-mindful menu.

I like this place, it’s a nice atmosphere, right downtown Sausalito. I live close by and it is always packed, so do make reservations before coming here. One day I decided to pop by and get some food with family and friends. It’s pretty fun and happy place to hang out. As appetizers they have great choices! To be honest I forgot what I had, but whatever it was I thought it was delicious!

We had the veggie tacos and some margaritas as part of our evening of restaurant-hopping in darling Sausalito. The tacos were tiny, but delicious. So, maybe order two trays of them. My stepmom and I had hiked 8 miles in Stinston Beach that morning and were happy to settle in to this fun spot. There were no tables available, but they have full food service at the bar, which is the place to sit here! The bartenders were fun and friendly and were very helpful with our menu and drink questions. The margaritas were super fresh and cold. The chips are worth every calorie, so be sure to indulge. My stepmama and I enjoyed great conversation about food and life and I can’t think of a more fun spot in Sausalito to have enjoyed that.

Been wanting to try this place for some time since moving to Sausalito. However being a local now, I tend to stay away from the touristy parts. But decided to venture down last night for an early dinner. The place is centrally located and close to the ferry. The restaurant itself is nicely laid out. I liked the ambiance and feel. The staff was excellent, from the host to our server I was very satisfied with the service. We ordered tacos(steak and oysters) as well as chips and salsa. We also had the agua frescas which were tasty and refreshing. I guess my only complaint is that the portions were small for the price paid. 4 small tacos, chips and salsa, and 2 non alcoholic drinks totaled $ 50 with tax and tip. Although a bit pricey, I was impressed enough to want to come back for more.

Stopped here while in Sausalito and thought it was pretty good. We ordered the guac(delicious) and chips n salsa(not my fav) to start. I had the tortilla soup(pretty good) and my husband has the 24 carnitas(pretty good). Service seemed overwhelmed but the lose a star for their prices. It’s steep for Mexican food and frankly, nobody should charge for chips n salsa. Overall, good food.

The best meal we had in Sausalito! The food was amazing, fresh and delicious. Cassie, the manager, knows how to run a business. Come early or make reservations, this place is popular!

OMG. I was absolutely sure there were NO decent restaurants in Sausalito. I’m a local and had given up. I saw a segment on Check Please on KQED about Copita and thought I should at least try it. Insane. Insanely delicious. The way food should be. WOW Even their crema has incredible flavor and a slight kick to it. Thank you! thank you! thank you! Good to know there is ONE place I now love in Sausalito.

Copita was a nice afternoon-evening spot for food among my friends when we went to Sausalito. We had outdoor seating and we were seated quickly on a Saturday afternoon around 5pm. I ordered the enchilada, which tasted pretty amazing. The ceviche with tortilla chips was also a good appetizer. The only thing we were disappointed about was the larger order of sangria, which seemed like a large portion due to the ice filling the container, but once we poured it out, it had barely enough for 5 people. It also tasted just okay. I’d recommend ordering a different drink other than their sangria.

I didn’t ran by this place by pure luck. This place was on PBS program called«check please!» and since the chef owner is Joanne Weir(very well known chef) we decided to check this place out. The best thing about this place is the selection of their tequilas. You will have a fair amount of choices from regular to reposado, anejo and extra anejo tequilas from 10 to 66 dollars a shot. If you are a fan of habanero peppers like Try their habanero salsa. I tried their avacoda tomato salad and their fish taco. To my chagrin, the salad had only one piece of avocado. If I order an avocado tomato salad and pay 12 bucks for it then I want me some avocado! The taco fish had a Hawaiian touch — drenched in a lovely sauce but still drenched. In conclusion, this place was sadly over-rated.

This was the perfect place to meet a friend for dinner and I loved their menu! No wonder why it was so good! They have a celebrity chef in the house, Joanne Weir, who has her own cooking show on PBS called«Joanne Weir Gets Fresh.» We started off with guacamole and an heirloom tomato salad with avocado, cotija cheese, cilantro and tortilla strips. The California Mahi-Mahi tacos Al pastor with roasted pineapple pico de gallo, fried tomatillo & chile serrano salsa, red onion, cilantro was well worth the wait and won me over. I’m definitely coming back

I absolutly Love Love Love this place! Not only do they have an extensive list of tequilas, but their mixed drinks are fantastic! Anything on the rocks comes slow poured over 1 large block of ice for that perfect chill with no watering down, also they fresh make their mixed drink fillers everyday. Oh let me count the drinks I love… Barbed Wire: fresh @$$ strawberry and rhubarb mix(hello favorite childhood pie) with lime juice, tequila and marachino liqour… mmm nom nom nom nom Smoking Gun: made with grapefruit juice and rimmed with chili flecks… revigerating & spicy combo drink anyone? Some Like it Hot: alright, so after the Barbed Wire and the Smoking Gun I don’t remember the specific make up of this drink, but I can remember… spicy, dry, delicious Copita Margarita: I think it speaks wonders that their house drink(what some might call a basic drink) is so refreashing and amazing. I love that you don’t need to order anything«fancy» to get a high class drink here. Ok so despite how this review reads I actually come here for the food and service, the drinks are just a hard plus. I haven’t had a bad dish yet and have even begged my husband to quit his job and work here so he could hook me up with my Copita fix. It was a no go eventhough he also loves their tasty dishes. The 24 Hour Carnitas plate means bussiness and I don’t think I could live without them. I also drool over the Trio of Tomalitos, but really trust your server when they recommend the taco of the day. Unlike most places the special isn’t something thrown together to get rid of yesterdays left overs. Here the cook puts together a fantastical blend of what is fresh and new today so it’s always good and always amazing. Basically great vibe, great staff, great food. Copita for the win!

This place surprised me. Our party of 3 biked from SF to Sausalito and was looking for somewhere to get a late lunch. I didn’t think a Mexican restaurant in the heart of the most touristy spot of Sausalito would be good — but it was! Our table got 3 dishes and shared: — Neiman Ranch Carne Asada($ 21 for 4 tacos) — this was delicious — Seared California Mahi-Mahi($ 21 for 4 tacos) — this was pretty good — Mexico City Style Quesadillas($ 11 for 3) — this was meh This review is based mostly on the Carne Asada tacos which were great. Taste: 4⁄5 Service: 3⁄5 Atmosphere: 4⁄5 Value for Money: 3⁄5 Would I come again: Yes

This was the first restaurant we encountered when we got to Sausalito and we were starving. I was hesitant at first because of the Unilocal rating but i was very happy with trying this place. The food was great and service was on point! We ended up sitting outside in the patio and it was perfect. Food came out quickly and we ordered the Guacamole(wonderful), Elote Asado(mexican corn — very very good; got this with the cilantro sauce), fried pork belly tacos(crispy and fresh! Absolutely loved it and would get it again), and the wood roasted chicken(basically a rotisserie chicken with a marinade, deliciously flavorful and moist; served with corn tortillas). They have a good option of drinks too but didnt get to try it. I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting!

The meal starts off with refreshing and complementary cucumber and jicama spears with lemon and chili powder. The almond horchata’s flavor is terrific but the texture is that of sand… I was incredibly impressed with the tacos, which are made with house-made corn tortillas that are fresh and light. You have a choice of getting either 2 or 4 tacos. They’re on the small side — only about 3 – 4 inches in diameter — but they’re full of flavor. That being said, if you want to feel full off the tacos, get 4. If you want to save room for dessert, get 2. The house-made corn tortillas are fresh and light. Service is what made me drop a star. It took almost 10 minutes before anyone came by to introduce themselves as our waiter/waitress or ask us our drink order. However, the hostess and serving staff were very cordial and hospitable. It is worth it to make a stop at Copita when in Sausalito.

Excellent! Not only is the drive to Sausalito amazing but so is the food when you get to Copita! I was greeted by the hostess with a friendly smile. I sat at the bar as it was only 1 for dinner. The bartender was friendly and asked if I’d like a menu. After looking the drinks over, I asked for something spicy. The bartender made me a spicy pomegranate margarita — off the the menu! It was great! Balanced not too sweet, not too spicy! Chef Raul came out and we started a conversation! We talked about Copita being GMO free, having gluten-free items, sourcing local product — overall just good food! A very cool guy! As it was my first time at Copita and since I had the chef in front of me — I left my dinner choices up to him and he definitely steered me in the right direction! I started with Pepinos & Jicama with chile and limon(Cucumber spears w/lemon and chili powder). Second — Guacamole, chips, and 2 kinds of salsa(fire roasted guajillo salsa; tomatillo avocado salsa cruda). Third — Guacamole(avocado, chile serrano, cilantro, onion). Fourth — the Papas Bravas(roasted and fried Kennebec potatoes, fried jalapeños, cumin-arbol chile dusted, fresh avocado crema). Finally — the 24 Hour Carnitas(Niman ranch pork, guacamole, tomatillo salsa, cilantro, onion, lime and corn tortillas)! A fantastic meal! Great atmosphere! Great service. Everyone is passionate about Copita and it translates to their food and service! Get out of the city and make the drive to Sausalito for quality Mexican food! #SF #SanFrancisco #Sausalito #Mexican #Food

I have to confess something first: I love latin pop music. Enrique and Shakira? I’m there. When I first walked into Copita and heard their soundtrack, I was instantly sold. Then I ordered a margarita. SO good. And aside from the vibrant atmosphere and delicious drinks, the food is bursting with flavor. If you’re in the mood to try the wood-roasted chicken cooking on a rotisserie, go for it. It’s wonderfully soft and tender. I’d also recommend the papas bravas and guacamole for appetizers. The carne asada and chicken tinga tacos are also great choices. Maybe not the best date night options as the tacos tend to seep out a lot of juice, but that’s also why they’re so tasty. All around, a fun place to go for dinner in Sausalito.

After biking from the SF Ferry Building to Sausalito, my friend and I decided to stop by Copita for a late lunch. We stood in the doorway for no more than a few minutes, trying to decide whether we wanted to eat inside or outside, when a waitress came up to us and asked us where we’d like to sit. It was a clear, sunny day, so we chose a table for two outside. The waitress gave us menus and then filled both of our glasses with cold water. Even though we were planning on taking the ferry back to SF, we decided against getting drinks. After taking a look at their menu, we ordered the following items: Mexico City Style Quesadillas — 11 Filled with yukon potatoes & red chorizo; cuitlacoche corn truffle, epazote, serrano chile, goat cheese, queso Oaxaca, lime crema, queso fresco (me) Birria de Chivo — 19 Slow-cooked young goat, sesame seed and chili de arbol salsa, avocado, goat jus and house made tortillas (him) Neiman Ranch Carne Asada Tacos — 13⁄21(order of 2; order of 4) *According to their menu, all tacos are served on corn tortillas made by hand in house. Neiman ranch marinated beef, poblano peppers, caramelized yellow onions, roasted garlic & jalapeño crema, cilantro The quesadillas were beautifully presented, and I enjoyed the one filled with yukon potatoes and red chorizo the most. The exterior breading was also very well done. My friend liked the carne asada tacos and probably could have finished an order of 4, if not for the fact that we planned on eating dinner a few hours later at R&G Lounge. As for me, this was my first run-in with goat and I thought it was fantastic! It wasn’t too gamey, nor did the sauce it was cooked in overpower it. Pairing that with chunks of avocado, diced red onions, cilantro, spritz of lime juice, and the chile de arbol salsa in a corn tortilla… wonderful. This restaurant is in a great location right across the street from the ferry and I definitely recommend it for those looking for, as the restaurant’s menu put it, «modern Mexican food.» However, if you want a few more entrée choices(i.e. burritos, nachos, etc.), you might have to go a little further up Bridgeway to Saylor’s).
