Renovated, bright, open, usually not too crowded; though they could use some heat lamps on the outdoor seating. Stay, relax and enjoy some pizza with a friend. Desserts were interesting but a bit too sweet for my likes. Once I came in and there was some kinda festival up the street going on… it had overflowed into Piccolo. Madness I say! Let’s hope it stays chill.

I’ll be the first to say it– I hate Sausalito. This is personal opinion; I see the appeal it(tries to) convey, but to me, it feels like a pretentious little town with no personality. A wannabe Carmel-by-the-Sea, if you will. And you just can’t duplicate that sort of style. To top that, I’ve never enjoyed a meal I’ve had in Sausalito. The first time I visited, I paid $ 13 for a measly cheese quesadilla; as a first impression, you can’t do much worse. My second Sausalito meal was at Horizons; for a $ 40 dinner, the food defined dismally-average. However, the third time I visited,(my parents love Sausalito) we happened upon this cozy little bar. We were running seriously behind– the next ferry was due in half an hour, we hadn’t eaten all day, and yet my parents insisted we skip the sandwich bars for something more fancy and fragrant. The bar had oak tables and clean wine glasses; it seemed like a go. We asked the waiter if it was possible to rush through the meal in 20 minutes, and he(very good-naturedly) said he couldn’t see why not. In 20 minutes,(!!) the chef had magnanimously thrown out the following: Lamb Burger with feta, mint and black pepper, lettuce, roma tomatoes, red onion Hand Chopped Porchetta Sandwich Tuscan herbed organic braised pork, fennel, basil pesto & the Linguine with Clams & Mussels Savoury clams and Prince Edward Island mussels, tarragon, white wine, butter and fresh red chiles they have some seriously good bar food. The lamb burger was as well-cooked as a medium rare lamb burger could be. The porchetta sandwich was just effing delicious. The pork was juicy, savory and tender, and well complimented by the fennel and creamy pesto. It was at once fresh and meaty. The only drawback to the porchetta sandwich was its inability to hold a sandwich shape; the pork&pesto was way too soggy for the unpretentious lunch bread. But with fork or with hands, it tasted good going down either way. The linguine was a little too salty, but the texture was perfect; t

Another one bites the dust in Marin. .. .What happened to this great spot ??? We want the old menu back ! We went there after the fireworks in town needing a good meal and spot to just relax. The menu has been totally changed and now tortilla soup is a special there? Whaaa??? This is an Italian Bistro ! We ordered a seafood salad thinking that would be a safe bet. Took a few bites and as hungry as we were had to send it back. I havent done that in as long as I can remember ! We asked our server what was safe and ended up with a B.L.T. for dinner. Somethings wrong here. This place was one of our favorites.

Fantastic venue with great people watching, scenic views, friendly service, full bar, amazing food, and amazing food next door that gets delivered to this fantastic venue. So what did the lady and I order? Let me see here, we ordered Cicchettis which are small bites: * Mustard, Chive, Egg * Salumi, Parmesan, Chili, Parsley, Egg * Tuna, Capers, Fennel Pollen, Aioli, Egg * Seasonal Vegetable Pickles * Marinated Olives * Bread Service, Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar All these Cicchettis were $ 2.50 each which is probably why we ordered this many. Anyways, all were so tasty in their own way, delicately prepared and well presented. Cheeseburger from Hamburger(the burger shop next door) with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions on a toasted sesame bun. Also fries came with this which is next door by the way. Way to beat the line and relax! Fantastic lunch!
