My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant today. We were slightly hungry, especially after the bike ride from San Francisco to Sausalito. Upon arriving, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait. No biggie, no rush! Surprisingly the people before us weren’t around so we got sat almost right away! While it is a small restaurant, it’s very quaint and nice. The staff is dressed well and bussers were on top of clearing and filling waters. Our server Peter, seemed nice, but came off snooty when he immediately began bad mouthing about his busser. Not sure that’s something you’d want to tell a guest. After that, we just received a bad vibe from Peter. While we overheard him and other waiters offering the specials of the day, we barely got a hello. We ordered Appetizers and Entrees when we had his attention. Our Calamari arrived, wow it was delicious! My girlfriend and I love Calamari and this place definitely has it nailed. While enjoying our app, we had no attention from the waiter wondering how it is or if we needed anything else. We finished and a while later our entrees showed up. Took a little while but I ordered the Chicken. I expected the wait since it takes time to cook, no biggie! We were quite blown away. My girlfriend ordered the Cesar salad which was good! But my Chicken… Boy oh boy was that good. Chicken and with spring vegetables and mashed potatoes cooked to PERFECTION! I wasn’t even that hungry but I couldn’t let any of it go to waste. I basically cleaned the plate; you’re welcome dish crew! During our whole entire meal we did not once see our waiter. Quite disappointing, especially at the price point and seeing him attend to his other tables way more than ours. I’m a waiter myself on the Strip in Las Vegas at an upscale restaurant. Busy or not, I thrive to deliver my customers the best possible experience. No matter what, I always check on them, make small or big talk, and always make sure they’re having a great time. We were truly disappointed in Peter. Would we go back? I think so, hopefully with a different waiter. Bussing staff was on point and I truly wish they worked for me, even! Definitely looked like a team of support staff that would help create the best experience for a guest.

My better half and I were able to swing a table at the window for a spectacular view which, honestly, was the best part of this experience. The appearance of the restaurant was nothing special. It was rather dated. I found it somewhat uncomfortable that to get to and from the table we had to walk through the galley area where the servers picked up their orders. The chair I sat on was janky and kept wobbling if I leaned too much and I kept thinking I was going to fall out of my chair. The tables were squeezed in pretty tightly and at one time I accidently touched our server’s bottom while she was tending to the table next to us. Awkward! Our server was nice and efficient enough. The calamari was sub-par. My honey ordered the steak & lobster. I ordered the Alaskan Halibut(approx. $ 40). Aside from the gorgeous view even with the fog and the always beautiful yet overpriced(nearly $ 50 bottle) Frank Family Chardonnay the best part of the meal was my halibut. My honey’s steak & lobster were both overcooked. For being smack dab on the sea one would expect proper preparation for a $ 60 entrée. Overall, we were glad to have had the experience together but if in the area again we will definitely give one of the many competitors our $ 200.

Stopped in for lunch during a tour. This place is in a really great location in Sausalito. I was seated by the windows with a nice view of the bay. Ordered the Alaskan Halibut — quite pricey but very fresh & well-made. I’d love to come back and try the other seafood entrees.

Just had dinner here with my wife about an hour ago. Had a reservation and arrived 15 min early. We were seated at a terrible table and we asked for another table. The two male hosts were indifferent and stated that we would have to wait 45 min for another table. As it was only 6:30 that statement was ridiculous. We stayed and the food was ok nothing better than that. My wife ordered the scallops risotto and received 3 small quarter size scallops. Absurd for the $ 28.50 they charged. Yesterday we had lunch at the Scomas in SanFrancisco where we were treated like they care about you. The two hosts we had today are in the wrong profession. Next time we are in San Francisco we will not be going back there.

They changed the menu! Sad that I didn’t get to have the lobster bisque. It was the BEST!!! That’s why I had to take away a star. Everything after that was a blur! Just kidding. I’ll let my pictures paint the picture of a perfect lunch!!!

My friends and I came here for a drink while walking around Sausalito. The inside was quite full but it was almost sunset, a bit breezy so they gave us an amazing table out back to enjoy some wine and oysters. I think it was getting about the time when guests were too cold to be outside so this was a perfect option for us to relax. The server was quick, friendly and attentive. We shared a nice bottle of wine, some oysters and a great view. This place is a bit pricey, but you are in Sausalito and the views are incredible.

After getting countless of recommendations to eat at this restaurant, my girlfriend and I decided that after our long bike ride we earned ourselves some good seafood. What we got was good seafood with no attention. I must say, the place was kind of a tight squeeze and for the money you spend you aren’t really getting any privacy, you are basically eating off everyone’s plates around you. After being seated I looked over at one of the servers and he seemed to be on his A game with service and even heard his patron say«oh I left him a 25% tip» and his wife replied«well he sure earned it». I immediately got excited waiting for him to greet me. He didn’t, I instead was stuck with a terrible waitress who didn’t at any point introduce herself. Food was amazing, view was amazing, prices were fair, service lacked and the place was cramped!

PERFECTLOCATION! Waterfront view and you can see downtown SF skyline from the restaurant! I’ve always love Scoma’s! Whenever I crave for seafood, Scoma’s is always the place to go! Last time we were at their Fisherman’s location but when my boyfriend found out that they also have one by Sausalito, he surprised me a dinner here last Valentines Day! We love this location better than the other one, we noticed that it’s more romantic and we love that it’s literally by the water with a better view. FOOD! We ordered a glass of Chardonnay and the seafood sampler which was perfect for two people to start. It came with some calamari and shrimps. ITWASREALLYGOOD! Quite expensive, $ 25 but seafood in general is expensive. My boyfriend ordered the Ahi Tuna plate and I ordered a pasta with shrimps(forgot what it’s called) but it was really good especially the sauce! I definitely recommend this place especially this location if you’re looking for a more romantic place to eat. Service is good. Food is great! Overall, we had a wonderful time! :)

I finally had the chance to visit Scoma’s in Sausalito and I loved it. The view was beautiful as this restaurant sits right on the water. I ordered the mixed greens with fresh crab and vinaigrette dressing which was refreshing and amazing. I then ordered the Lazy Cioppino which was the best I’ve ever had. You could really taste all of the flavors of the different seafoods in the broth. Peter was my server and he really made this lunch a special one. He not only was my server but he also offered to take a picture of my friend and I outside of the restaurant overlooking the pier. He even had us take a really fun and creative picture which I have posted. Everyone enjoys taking photos when on vacation so the fact that Peter offered to do this for us was so sweet and hospitable. Thanks Peter for an amazing meal and experience!

Beautiful indoor outdoor brunch spot in the heart of Sausalito right on the water. For the location and the quality of the food it’s also quite reasonably priced. We had a seafood appetizer sampler and a couple mains(seafood sandwiches) Great and friendly service and a sunny day made for a great time!

This place was incredible. An amazing restaurant plus a beautiful city. Worth stopping by if you’re visiting San Fran or live close by. Super super friendly service, from all the servers, not just ours. Prices decent and view beautiful. We ordered & loved: Chowder, mussels, crabcakes, crab salad sandwich and seared tuna sandwich. Even the bread basket was delicious. Come and eat here and see the beautiful view of this beautiful city. Well worth your money.

My review for Scoma’s restaurant is that they’re simply lazy for a restaurant of their level. They don’t go that extra mile to make their food something special. Instead the food is bland, unexciting and leaves you with a sense of wishing you went somewhere else. Scoma’s — what happened?

Made some reservations Sunday night for my boyfriends birthday and all the reviews and pictures made it look like a great place for an intimate dinner. Great view + good food. We weren’t sure how long it would take us to get there so we left the house really enough so we would have enough time to get there and maybe walk around. When we got there, and since it was Sunday, a lot of stores were closed so we ended up not walking around and decided to go in the restaurant. We were 40ish minutes early for our reservation so the host(found out he was also the manager) recommended us to sit in the bar area while they get a table open for us. SEATING: Now, when we for sat, I mentioned in the reservation that we wanted to sit next to the window with a view; we were seated next to the window but in a awkward corner and our table was pretty small in general, we just felt cramped. I wanted to sit across my boyfriend but there was a table next to ours so I couldn’t move my chair to sit across from him, which I should have since the next couple were sat at that 4 seater table for themselves. NOTE: It was dark so we couldn’t see too much of a nice view, I bet this place is wonderful to be in during the day so I’m definitely coming back when it’s daylight. SERVICE: Our waiter was Cassi: sweet, knowledgeable and had the right balance of being straight shooter and a talker. It wasn’t a busy night so our food arrived in a timely manner and our waters were constantly filled, yay! FOOD: I started off with their calamari as an appetizer, I don’t remember the price off the top of my head and the menu linked in the Unilocal info isn’t current prices/items. I’m guessing $ 9? The portion wasn’t big but damn was the calamari fresh! It was so delicious, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth… Typing this now makes me want more. Wild King Salmon($ 22?): Grilled to perfection. I loved how the mashed potatoes and steamed veggies didn’t over power the salmons taste. Good overall, but not GREAT. So. OVERALL: — this place is only nice during the daytime, because of the view and all. — dinner time can either be an intimate dinner or a cramped into a corner dinner. — prices weren’t too shabby. — lots of street parking. — food portions were alright. — service is quick and speedy. — menu changes depending on what’s in season.

Had a craving for seafood so stopped here for lunch with some friends. Great location floating over the bay with many tables outside on the deck with waterfront views. Our waiter told us this is a family owned restaurant for forty years, with fresh seafood arriving daily. They claim to have some of the freshest seafood available in the San Francisco area, challenge accepted! We were seated at a table outside with an umbrella giving us just enough relief from the sun and spectacular views of the bay. As soon as we were seated out drink orders were taken. They were quickly delivered and our orders were placed, no long waiting here! For an appetizer we shared a sample platter, it had prawn, calamari calabrese and dungeness crab cake. Everything was really good but the crab cake was one of the best I’ve ever had in my life! So much flavor packed into such a fresh flaky cake of goodness. For our main dish I had scoma’s new england clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, it was served with a notched out top that was steaming like a pot of tea. It was so well prepared and fresh. My friends enjoyed the bay shrimp salad sandwich that was served on a filone roll with lettuce, tomato & coleslaw, also delicious. Overall the service was top notch and the food lived up to the hype… definitely very fresh and satisfying! Dinner for 2. — Ambiance(5⁄5) A more traditional setting with plush carpet and flickering candle light. We got a great table in the corner with views of the water. — Service(5⁄5) Attentive and homey service. — Bread(3⁄5) Good, not standout. — Tomales Bay Oysters, $ 3ea(5⁄5) Fresh and plump, as described. Shucked cleanly, so slid right into my mouth. — Halibut Special w/Dungeness Crab, $ 34(2⁄5) Halibut was overcooked and the dungeness crab kind of tasted like it came out of a can. — Apple Pie, $ 10(4⁄5) Tart apples with a toasty crust and ample amounts of ice cream– always a winner. — Value(3⁄5) A bit on the pricey side considering some execution issues on straightforward dishes. — Final Word A very romantic place for dinner, though I was a bit perturbed by the slightly overcooked halibut special.

What a splendid ferry trip to Sausalito this was from SF for my group of three, where once here, we just so happened to get the best window view seat of the bay on their pier! And so our orders began! I’m sharing what we all shared plus I ate individually: –6 Oysters: 3 Miyagi and 3 Blue Point –Grilled Artichoke: Steamed Artichoke, Grilled, Served with Tarragon, Garlic Crème Fraiche –Yellow Fin Tuna Salad: Seared Herb Crusted Tuna, Farm Egg, Pickled Lake Green Beans, Potato, Piccholine Olives, Confit Tomato, Mesclun Greens, Tarragon Mustard Vinaigrette –Prosecco(BTL on ice) It’s a seafood restaurant, so you’ve gotta have seafood! Oysters are a must, this close to Tomales Bay. Loved the Miyagi. The Blue Point were good as well, but not from as local a spot. Didn’t matter, as they were all delish! Then came the shared artichoke! This was special in that it was likely grown in Castroville from Monterey County, where I have personal ties to. Couldn’t turn it down! Now, my entrée: the Yellow Fin Tuna Salad. Outstanding! Who would have thought that a carnivorous dude like me would be ordering so many veggies at a seafood restaurant?! However, the portions of tuna were extremely large, and well-accompanied the purple potatoes, farm egg and everything else in the mix. It was taste bud bliss. We also had a great, humorous waiter who made certain my friend’s artichoke heart got eaten, plus he took a group pic of us. Smiles all around. Enjoyed every second!
