We were hopeful about this place and decided to give it a shot… big regret!?! Waitress was poor in service, didn’t even bother to ask how our food was. We were one of the 2 couples already there and waited practically 20 mins for our food. We ordered the fried calamari(over cooked and tasted like plastic!), the fried red snapper(also over cooked! Dried! and there were still some scale on the outside! It was like the fish wasn’t even thawed properly and then just over-deep-fried!?), also ordered the raw oysters which was at least edible and decent. Can’t say much about the other food there, because we didn’t order it, but place could be better. If you want fried fish, walk a few blocks east of this place and buy a fried talipot for only $ 6!!! At Asian Direct Groceries! The over cooked red snapper $ 17 was NOT worth it. This place does not know how to cook sea food! Should’ve known when I saw how poorly designed the restaurant sign was… if you want decent Mexican food with decent host, better off going to El Loro which is also a few blocks from this place. Would not recommend, unless you are desperate for some Mexican food! Ughh.

The food was OK, but the service was horrible. The server was busy talking with friends at the bar and completely ignored me. Then I got a huge hassle when I tried to use my groupon. That went on for 5 minutes. I had a seafood dish with crab, mussels, shrimp and lobster. The seafood was good but the problem was that it was in this tomatoey sauce. You had to get all messy trying to remove it from their shells. Also, the shrimp heads were also in the dish. All in all, I wouldn’t spend my hard earned money on this place.

This place is a hidden gem, and hidden may be an understatement. If you walk in and the place is empty and quiet, don’t be alarmed. The food is great. If you’re in the mood for the biggest burrito you’ve ever seen delivered on a plate, go with the burrito grande. Delicious.

I was referred to this place by a Co Worker who is from Mexico. So, I had to try it as being a California girl, I am always on teh prowl for a good Mexican place. Its a small hole in the wall in probably the least attractive shopping center in downtown Savage but, its Savage, not East LA so dont let that scare you. My husband ordered the fish tacos and I will say this — they were a bit boring but, its authnentic, like a street taco. Clean fish, in a corn tortilla with cilantro and onions. The refried beans were fantastic as was the spanish rice. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were FANTASTIC — my husband was jealous so I had to give up one of my three. We also ordered a half dozen oysters on the half shell, it was stuffed with shrimp and advocado! DELISH!!! Again, this is an authentic place — want more traditional, just go up a block to one of our other favorites, El Loro. This is definitely worth a try and we will be going back again.

I haven’t had much opportunity to get Mexican seafood and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The price of the seafood was higher(as one would expect) than the other entrees but considering we are in MN and based on the quality I received, it was well worth the premium. I will definitely be returning to sample some of their other offerings.

Don’t be fooled! It’s obvious the other positive reviews on here are fabricated. This place is a far cry from any sort of «restaurant». I bought a groupon, had horrible service, mediocre food, and a lame margarita. Groupon refunded my money. This place is located in a tiny strip mall where a small Chinese restaurant used to be.

Visited El 7 Mares(Savage, MN) with a Groupon. Very glad we came! The food is very tasty. Shared a delicious app of shrimp empanadas served w a piquant mayo-based dip. For an entrée, spouse enjoyed a wonderfully seasoned Caldo 7 Mares(seafood soup) which was loaded w fish, shrimp, crawfish, mussels, crab, and octopus, accompanied by corn tortillas and avocado. I selected Camarones al mojo de Ajo, a superbly flavored shrimp dish served w Spanish rice and salad. Our server(Cristal) was very friendly and welcoming;(we were the only English speaking gringos in the store). We’d definitely go back! They also have a location in St. Paul.

This place was not good, and the service was terrible. The interior needs updating and CLEANING. It was extremely dirty, and I would be afraid to see what the kitchen looks like. My husband and I were the only ones in the restaurant. We were promptly seated and the waiter brought chips, drinks, and took our order. The food took about 25 minutes to come out, and the server did not stop by once. In fact, he was sitting at a table behind us on a laptop. It would have been nice to at least get another glass of water. The food came out, and it was mediocre at best, and that’s being generous. There were some good flavors, but the meat did not taste fresh. There are many other Mexican restaurants, near and far, that I’d rather go to.

A true hole in the wall very well hidden gem in southwestern suburbia. The place is tiny and hidden behind a gas station tucked between an Indian boutique and a pizza man store. Blindly put your finger on the menu. You can’t do wrong.

Authentic Mexican seafood. I haven’t had anything this good, since I left McAllen TX! The aguachiles are spicy, but super tasty, and the avocado on top make it sweet and cooling. The marIscos molcajetes was huge, filled with seafood and had a great sauce. Seafood in a molcajetes can get overdone quick, but not here. The side plate with guacamole, salsa and frijoles refritos was great, too. I would’ve preferred corn tortillas, but the flower ones were still very good. Based on the quality and the portions I would say it was a fair but not cheap. I will definitely go back.
