Service was great but not the BBQ we crave. Mustard based BBQ was new to us and was okay. Deserts of Banana pudding & pecan pie were delicious.

If you love BBQ and smoke your own you won’t want to eat here. Fair service. Messed up my order twice. Pulled pork had no smoke flavor. The sides weren’t very good. My girls did have the tilapia and liked that.

BBQ is good but you have to like southern style bbq sauce b/c they only have one kind! I’m a fan but my husband doesn’t love it. The meats are cooked well and the blackened shrimp is killer! I’ve gotten it every time I’ve been there! Try the peach sangria they have at the bar too, it’s homemade and delicious!

Food was great… ribs & pork melted in your mouth. Fried okra was the best! Not used to mustard based bbq sauce but it tasted good too! My only suggestion is maybe another type of sauce as another option! Our server was a sweet lady. & she answered all of our many questions!

I have been coming to Papa’s since I was a child. You cannot beat the family atmosphere and great service. No better place in town for BBQ!(Or banana pudding)

The service was great the food on the other hand was terrible and if you’re from out of town looking for good southern bbq keep looking! The ribs looked and tasted like shoe leather and the chicken dry and flavorless. As a place that advertised seafood they have exactly 4 options all fried two of Which being tilapia and shrimp no shellfish or steamed options.

Ok, I have been looking for a good chopped bbq sandwich in Savannah for over a year and finally have found one! And it’s right around the way from where I live! Glory! I love the sauce! Mmmyum! I got two BBQ sandwiches for only 6.95! They were so overflowing with delicious chopped BBQ with that awesome sauce, that I could only eat one… & all for only 6.95! Yipppieeee!

Strip mall atmosphere. Didn’t live up to reviews previously read. Very dry fish bland food. Service was nothing to complain about and friendly. Food was fairly quick but disappointing. Lacked flavor too dry and quite disappointing. Not a traditional BBQ restaurant nor a traditional seafood house. Not sure of its identity but recommend finding another place to spend your money.

Crab dip appetizer was tasty. Average pulled pork sandwiches. I’ve had much better baked beans in the north. Overall, meh.

Wanted to like this BBQ and seafood place more than we did. Pulled pork was a bit on the dry side, sauce was limited to one acidic house choice and all-in-all it was a bit mediocre and underwhelming, especially at the cost.

I was in the area and in the mood to try something new. So I found papas. The atmosphere was kinda nice had a few tvs playing football here and there, not noisy at all, and kind staff. We wThe food was pretty good around my table a turkey club, kids shrimp, and some bbq was ordered. The bbq, as I was told was pretty good but just a little dry. The club, which I had, was pretty good, and the shrimp was very delicious. Overall this restaurant was decent and I will be returning on my next visit to savannah.

If you eat here, don’t get the flavorless brisket or the boiled and grilled ribs, they are horrid. The service was fantastic though, and the fried shrimp and greens were great. The potato salad want anything to write home about but the slaw was first rate. They have a low price that reflects the quality of their food. Also, their house BBQ sauce is awful.

Brisket was good, though not Texas good and I don’t understand the brisket dip. The bbq sauce was excellent as were the beans. I’ll come back and check the ribs sometime. Would help to have the servers perhaps suggest an item or two and ask questions about your likes, etc.

Nice ambience and good service. Tilapia sandwich was good. Too many friend items — basically this is a typical American typical restaurant with same food you find every where. It’s great rather than going to crappy fast food restaurants. Kids chicken was good, good onion rings. Don’t try friend green tomatoes !

Papa’s you make it really difficult for me, we enjoyed everything about this place the location, the décor, the service, the food, the prices but… Is this really BBQ I think not! There was absolutely no evidence that a BBQ pit is on the premises. Everything tasted roasted(roasted nicely but roasted) I ordered the ribs and the pork loin both were roasted perfectly but missing any hint of smoke(is this smokeless BBQ?) If I had not ordered them without sauce, the tasty mustard sauce would have concealed the facts. Don’t let this prevent you from feasting here it’s fantastic, and in this part of the country the BBQ rules may differ from the rest of the world«if you use BBQ sauce it’s BBQ» I never try seafood at a BBQ joint so I can’t and won’t review the seafood apparently the seafood is as good as you’d get at any Steak House. Note — Most BBQ restaurants are closed on Sundays in Savannah so if I’m ever in the area again on a Sunday I might drop back in and try a burger or fish sandwich :-)

Really good service, amazing mustard — based bbq sauce. Pulled pork is moist and flavorful. And fried okra is super delicious. Not impressed with the Brunswick Stew. And the ribs were so tough that they were not edible. Kid-friendly. Casual. Plenty of parking. Not bad.

This place was okay. I ordered a seafood and BBQ combo. The salmon and the pork was okay… Nothing special. They did have their own restaurant hot sauce and BBQ sauce that I thought were pretty good though. I tried their Fall warm drinks and they were pretty much my favorite thing from this place. It was so delicious! I tried the Amaretto Sunset and my boyfriend had the Warm Captain Morgan Apple Cider. If you’re nearby, try their warm Fall drinks! Delicious. Other than that… The fish and the BBQ could’ve been more seasoned.

We used Papa’s catering for an event of 50 people back in August and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results! Great food, easy to work with and very reasonably priced to feed a crowd.
