The hookah is terrible. They charge $ 10 more for adding a second hose. You’re better off getting two separate hookahs… if the owner allows you to do that because he insisted on us not doing that. They never tended the overpriced hookah after we got it.

I’m already looking forward to returning to Savannah next year just to eat at Persepolis again! Our party of six were in town for a conference. Spencer made us all feel welcome and was impressively well versed about the menu. Everybody’s dishes looked gorgeous, and as a vegetarian I’ll take their words for it that their food tasted at least as good as it looked. As for the Market Vegetable Kebab with Ados Pulao Rice and sautée vegetables, the rice(with lentils, currants, almonds, and probably clarified butter and magic) was revelatory in texture and flavor, sweet and savory at once. The market veg in late Feb were cremini/small portabellas, onion, zucchini, yellow squash, and yellow and red sweet peppers, all with enough char to give them a smoky flavor, but not so much as to obscure the flavors of the individual components. To be honest I found the sautée veg forgettable and will get the much-vaunted salad next time. The yogurt drink was intriguing – not at all sweet and garnished with a dusting of finely chopped mint – in fact I’m craving it and will figure out how to make my own. I had to leave before the rest of our party, and both our server and the owner were terrific about accommodating my payment, precious box of leftovers in tow.

Awesome food and great service. The owner was extremely personable and the staff made the visit fun. The lemon chicken soup was light and tasty. I ordered the rack of lamb and chicken kabobs. Lamb was cooked just right and the chicken was very moist. Spiced just right with no need for any additional seasoning. I will definitely make this my go to spot whenever I am in Savannah. They also have hookah. Lots to choose from. Open late and food is served all night into the early morning if you like. Can’t wait to come back!

If you’re a fan of Mediterranean food and are in Savannah this is a must! The food is fantastic and the service is great! The entire staff was very attentive and friendly. We stayed for hookah after dinner and could not be happier about our evening here. Will definitely return when we’re back in town!

Amazing Mediterranean cuisine! This is a small family run restaurant with a quaint atmosphere. We visited last night and had several different dishes. Highly recommend the Saganaki as an appetizer. The hummus and tzatziki were both very good and the pitas were fresh and delicious. The Greek salad is very good too… Has a hint of dill in it and the house made dressing is top notch. Filet and lamb kabobs were very good and all of the rice options are phenomenal… Adas polo was definitely my favorite out of them all though. Even my hubby who is a meat and potato guy loved it. Well done Persepolis!

Dining here was a real treat and highly recommended experience! We started off with the Babakanesh as an appetizer. I had the marinated filet mignon kabobs with adas polo and vegetables while my friend had the spanakopitakia with zareshk polo and vegetables. All of the items were fantastic! I truly believe everything on this menu is just as good! Not to mention the unique ambience and genuine friendliness of the family that owns and runs it with their family recipes. We will be back!

What a fabulous evening we just experienced at Persepolis. Ali, the owner, welcomed us at the front door setting the stage for a perfect evening. The gregarious waiter was very helpful explaining the Mediterranean and Iranian food items. My husband went with two racks of lamb and minced lamb, and I had the marinated filet mignon and chicken kabob. They were mouth watering and very filling. Along with the scrumptious veggies(with the unique spices they were exquisite), the saffron rice and house salad we knew that this will not be the last time we will be visiting this diamond. We picked Baklava for our dessert. It was excellent. Sweet, not too sweet or artificial. The restaurant was small, but felt homey and comfortable. No glitz, no glamour just good food in a charming atmosphere. If you want a truly one of a kind experience with a tasty cuisine visit Persepolis!

Came here for a small dinner as I was pretty full when I hit here. We shared a special which consist of two big lamb chops and a chicken kabob. The lamb was tender and out of this world and the kabob was the juiciest chicken breast I’ve ever eating. The owner was very intimate and suggestive. The wait was a little long but well worth it. The whole experience was great.

I enjoy coming here just a half block away from my condo and I enjoy talking to the owners Ali & Ms. Patti. The food here is never a let down and my suggestion is get the lamb but hey who am I kidding everything on the menu is great! At 8pm you can enjoy a after dinner hooka.

We went on a Saturday night but early. They were slow when we got there but gradually filled up. The atmosphere is very welcoming and cozy — it’s not a big place inside by any stretch. Our server was super friendly and attentive, as was the owner(I presume) and his wife(again I presume). Very friendly people and the kind of personal warmth that makes a good meal memorable. So far as the food, this is where the real magic of this place is. I know most people probably don’t go to Savannah looking for Persian fare, but to miss out on this place would be an epicurean travesty. My wife ordered the chicken skewers and I went with the ground lamb. Both were amazing and cooked perfectly. Chicken is admittedly hard to cook without drying, but whoever was cooking that night nailed it. Their take on basmati rice with saffron was amazing. I don’t normally get excited about rice, but their blend with almonds, lentils, and raisins was perfect and a stellar compliment to the taste of the lamb and sumac. I can only imagine that the rest of their dishes are the same quality. Very good overall experience.

My husband and I decided to stop here since we love this type of food. We went on a Monday night in December and it wasn’t crowded at all. We were greeted warmly by the host/server. We sat upstairs and it was cozy. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made some excellent recommendations and was very familiar with how the dishes were made. He was young, but seemed very passionate about his job, which is not something you see much of these days. I chose the falafel entrée. The falafels are made from scratch in house and pan fried not deep fried. I chose the hummus to go with them. They have several kinds of rice, so I went with the servers recommendation. I also chose the sautéed veggies as my side. My husband selected the filet mignon kabob. Our food came fairly quickly and wow, the falafels were fabulous! The rice was excellent as well, I can’t remember which one I got, but it had golden raisins in it. My husband very much enjoyed his filet kabobs and rice. The décor was nice and there was some middle eastern sounding music playing which made for a nice ambience. The Christmas decorations were nice also. It was great to see several vegetarian and gluten-free options. I would definitely recommend checking this place out!

Everything was delicious here! The gyro platter was especially amazing and enough to share for 2 people. The salad was fresh and came with a generous amount of cheese and housemade dressing on the side. The gyro meat was tender and the portion was generous. The fresh calamari, saffron rice, and tzatziki sauce were all delicious and authentic. You won’t be disappointed with your visit.

Came here twice while I was on vacation. Our waiter was SOSUPER friendly!!! The owner was also nice enough to talk to us and tell us a little bit about his background. I love family run businesses! We first came here for the hookah and to kill some time before heading to our dinner reservations. It was perfect! Then we came back the next night just b/c they were so nice to us. We had some more hookah, hummus, and calamari! All was good… A bit pricey, but nothing outrageous! Service was top notch and so was the food!

My friend and I had some time to kill until meeting up with other friends for dinner so we came here for some hookah. The waiter, waitress and owner himself were soooooo super friendly! They ended up feeling like family! The food looked all so good but like I said we were meeting friends for dinner so didn’t get food. We just had a glass of wine and blueberry hookah! When we left the owner and waiter were telling us to come back again to try the food, and we just yes’d them and left. Well, after a night of drinking a few nights later we decided to go back for some food and more hookah!!! The owner was so happy to see us he hugged us and was smiling from ear to ear! We not only ate but again had some wine and more hookah!!! We got the hummus with pita which was delicious and then ended up ordering the calamari too! This was so much food. Lots of calamari but so yummy especially dipping it in the tatziki(spelling?) sauce. When it was finally time for us to leave the owner again hugged us and thanked us for coming back along with wishing us safe travels back home. This is a guy who was truly appreciative of our business and just for that(and his delicious food) I would recommend this and go back if I ever was in Savannah again! Him and his wife help out at the restaurant as well which I appreciate!

I have been looking forward to dining here for dinner ever since my friend told me about Persepolis. After a little shopping for a few items to take home to my wife, I made my way to Persepolis. I was a wee bit early for the dinner hour but that was fine with me. I took a seat at the counter and Started off with some unsweetened iced tea. The Lemon soup struck my fancy and while making up my mind I chatted with the server. He was a pleasant young man with ambition… Soon my soup was ready and as soon as it was put in front of me I knew I was in for something special. The fresh dill made for a great presentation but that first bite was heaven on a spoon. I have never had Avgolemeno with dill in it until now and I can’t imagine not having dill in it now. I finally decided on the Lamb Koobideh Kabob. Since my server indicated it was his favorite dish on the menu I had him suggest a rice that went with it and he suggested the Shirin Polo. He suggested the salad to go with it as well and I said sure. My salad came out and usually a salad is no big deal but the picture says otherwise. The feta cheese and the house dressing made that salad come alive. I would have preferred freshly ground pepper but that was not an option. When my entrée came out, I forgot all about the pepper… The plate was beautiful and after taking a pic I dug in. The lame had a seasoning unlike any kabob I have had before but it made me say WOW and just have a moment. The rice was a perfect complement and the dried orange peel was a nice touch. The almond slices gave it a nice texture and who does not love a little saffron in their rice? I took my time and savored every bite but then it dawned on me I was too full for dessert so I asked my server to send me out a piece of Baklava as he normally would but to give me a to go box as well and he was glad to oblige me. I took a bite and that Baklava and wished I had saved room for it because it was hands down the best I have ever had. Atmosphere — 5 Service — 5 Soup — 5 Salad — 5 Kabobs — 5 Rice — 5 Baklava — 5 I head back to Orlando tomorrow and you can bet that I will be back here whenever I make it back to Savannah. The food blew me away and if you ever find yourself in Savannah, make reservations at Persepolis!!!

I loved this place. A friend and I came in for hookah originally, but eventually decided to eat dinner and have a glass of wine as well. The service was phenomenal. We were the only guests in the house, so we received royal treatment. We both ordered the gyro platter. The platter comes with a heaping of one of the specialty rices, gyro meat, calamari, tzatziki sauce, and fruits. The plating was exquisite, and the food was fresh. I asked about wines, and the server suggested a nice pairing of red that left me very satisfied. Overall, I don’t understand why this place is not packed on the weekends. We visited on Labor Day, and I was surprised that we were alone in the restaurant. The ambiance is greatly impacted by the crowd, so come out to this place y’all!

BEST chicken and koobideh kabob ever. Period. My recommendation: chicken kabob with saffron rice. The rice here is beyond amazing. I have been to many Persian restaurants across East Coast, from NY to Miami and I can confidently say this place is the best. Few things: 1) Shirazi salad– not on the menu but the owner and chef was kind enough to make us one. UNBEATABLE. 2) Rice– All four choices are very fresh. Whatever you order, get rice just to feel how wonderful rice can be made. 3) Kabobs– I tried soltani(skewer of lamb and filet mignon.) While majority of restaurants mix beef and lamb to come up with a good koobideh recipe, you experience the most delicious pure lamb koobideh kabob here. Couldn’t get enough of it. 4) Chicken– among the best chicken dishes I have ever had. Juicy and very tender, with a taste of saffron(he marinates in saffron I guess.) Saffron is super expensive, as a side note. OVERALL, I very highly recommend dining here! Wish I lived in Savannah and could come here everyday!

The food at Persepolis was good enough, but I can’t see myself telling people about it when I go back home. Given how pricey this place was, there were several things lacking — — As I’ve said, the food here was good enough. My chicken kabobs, vegetables and saffron rice were very flavorful, but I’ve definitely had better Persian food. — Attention to detail: In my opinion, a restaurant’s ambiance is almost just as important as the food, and Persepolis could use some work in this area. A). There was a huge floor fan blowing loudly behind my table B). The music didn’t fit the restaurant(Ingrid Michaelson and Mazzy Star at a Mediterranean place?!) C). Folded magazines shoved underneath a few of the table legs to «fix» wobbliness just looks sloppy. D). Maybe it’s because it was a Wednesday night, but I didn’t really like how dead this place was. My husband and I were the only diners for a solid 45 min or so. I found myself feeling bored and sleepy. That said, I probably won’t come back here if I ever visit Savannah again. The three stars comes from the food not being quite good enough for the price and then the aforementioned small but messy details.

We were discussing first impressions after hesitantly ordering our food. Based on price vs atmosphere, this place is two star at generous best. Magazines under table legs to balance them, entrée’s ranging $ 18 to $ 80, a loud floor fan blowing on us, an HVAC vent literally 18″ from my face and pointing straight at us, early acoustic pop music playing(half of it older than half of you reading this), and an overwhelming smell of freshener(.a full can of oust exploded in the kitchen maybe?!?) about 5 minutes after we were seated. Once the spent table candle burned out and the food arrived though… Wow! I had said while waiting that the food would have to be 6 stars to redeem this place. Well the food here is off the chain! Rice like none other, vegetables so delicious they jump off the plate and spanakopitakia that melts in your mouth. I’m impressed. With some attention to atmosphere, this place could be truly amazing.
