Having transferred away from Savannah several years ago our family really looked forward to eating at one of our old favorites, Seasons of Japan(Berwick). What we found instead was something we should have left to memory! The food was… not good. Our orders were cold, rubbery, scrawny shrimp portions and hefty prices. We were sorely disappointed. Don’t waste your time… or your money.

My friend and I eat here once a week. Love the steak and shrimp bowl, sushi isn’t bad.

Ate there yesterday evening. Ordered the grilled chicken. It tasted strange, very lemony and had a strange consistency. My husband tasted a bite & agreed… said if his chicken tasted like that he would return it. Like a fool I ate half the plate as we were in a hurry to get to a movie. It’s 1:42am & the violating & diarhea have subsided… the stomach cramps are still here but not as severe. I am convinced this is a result of my meal at SOJ. Had a vegetarian lunch I prepared at home &2 Our Skinny shakes the rest of the day. I should be thankful that this bout of food poisoning was free as we had enough SOJ points for a free item… silver lining ?!

Food is great but the rewards or points program isn’t worth it. Haven’t gotten any thing since I’ve been coming for over a year

Originally this place was more like authentic Japanese(except for the fried rice– Chinese, folks– sorry, but it is) when it first opened. The only negative was the teriyaki as far as authenticity. Authentic teriyaki sauce is thin, not thickened up with corn starch. Still, tasty and popular that Americanized way. Also, the chicken is all dark meat so fattier than some of the more authentic Japanese places. The hibachi steak and shrimp is really good. The beef is nice when cooked fresh and you get a choice whether or not to have mushrooms. Sometimes the hibachi veggies are unbalanced(a lot more onion than zucchini) but I haven’t had that problem lately. Who would order ramen noodles for $ 6 anyway? You nuts? That’s starving college student food and way cheap in the supermarket. And MEXICAN sushi? Guacamole? Really? If I want Mexican I’ll go to La Parilla. That’s just an insult to Japanese cuisine– crossing the line. Mexican doesn’t come close to Asian. Stop trying to be all things to all people. Do one thing and excel at it. They’re decent for fast-food Japanese. Be realistic and don’t expect artisan Japanese cuisine from here.

It’s a little pricey for fast food Japanese garbage. Oh make sure you take the Liquid cork. The explosive loose stool hits 5 steps after you walk out the door. The line moves fast. Bring extra toilet paper. And if you do eat there make sure you have a piillow after you crap your pants you will be hit with a state sleep that can’t wait. Save your money and go to ha hot

I don’t understand why they only have three star rating. Plenty of options, food came out hot and prices were reasonable. I ordered the medium teriyaki chicken bowl. It was full of chicken, wasn’t salty and enough to split with someone else. My buddy ordered sushi and he was happy we found this hidden gem. Definitely will go back and recommend going here.

«LIKEUSONFACEBOOK» plastered on the windows as you walk in. Ordering what I thought would be authentic ramen at a Japanese restaurant was a huge mistake. I’ve made better ramen at home easily. Plus, I had terrible gut pain for 24hrs, and I attribute the food poisoning HERE. Please beware. Unsanitary in the back most likely. Authentic Japanese, another nope. So sad.

This place is wonderful. If you are on a budget and wanting sushi, it’s great. The steak and shrimp hibachi dinner is great too. Hibachi without the cook in front of you price. Highly recommend the strawberry power zero aide.

This store used to be better. I always order the white broth pork ramen, but recently the quality and IQ of the staff is falling. In both instances they gave me pork ramen with spicy miso soup. I complained to the manager once already and let it slide. This is the second consecutive time they got it wrong and so they deserve a 2 in my opnion.

Great place for fast sushi, I’ve had most of the menu and have never had anything bad. The chicken bowls are always loaded to the brim and ready in minutes. When I went to college near by, this place was a frequent lunch option.

this was actually much better than I anticipated. when you’re walking in and realise it’s a long line hibachi style order and wait for your number thing then see 5 and 6 dollar entrees it’s easy to get cold feet. I scored, though. the hibachi tofu was full of super fresh veggies and seasoned perfectly. being the taster I had to go for the veggie roll just it get an idea of what I’m working with for sushi… while it came in a little box that screamed prepackaged, it was actually very fresh. the asparagus was crunchy on both dishes which is great — you overcook the asparagus you lose stars. green tea on tap is cool, overall I was pleasantly surprised. on the way in this guy gave me a flyer menu for his new Caribbean spot around the corner and first thing on the menu is veggie items so I’ll be there for lunch Monday. I can’t give Seasons five stars just because the get your own drink and sauce and all that section was pretty dirty and the chopsticks were crap.

Sorry for the short review, but it doesn’t matter if their food tastes good or middling because the one thing that stands out is that it made me horribly ill. As in food poisoning. About ¾ of the way through my meal, I started feeling odd. 10 minutes later the nausea and vomiting set in. I don’t know what caused it… I don’t know if I want to know. The only thing I’m sure of is that I will NEVER go back.

I got teriyaki chicken. The meat is rubbery and has many fat parts. The sauce is mediocre. The soda is slightly watered down. The staff is also slow and unfriendly, except the cashier Tyler was pleasant. I will not be coming back. I recommend fire street food or Taca

I have had the steak bowl here multi times now. I love this location! They do things right at this one. The steamed rice is moist and tender and the steak is perfectly seasoned and oh so good with mushrooms. The chicken teriyaki is good too. Fresh ingredients and reasonably priced. Fast becoming a regular occurrence in our weekly roster.

Don’t come here for dinner if you’re in a hurry. I’ve never had to wait 30 mins at this type of restaurant. And the manager wasn’t very apologetic as he was laughing at me.

Seasons of Japan Express is a teppanyaki fast food joint. Teppanyaki is a style of Japanese cuisine that uses an iron griddle to cook food. They serve chicken, steak and shrimp with fried rice, zucchini, squash, broccoli and onions. This place can be hit or miss. Some days it is awesome. Seasons of Japan can offer quick, economical and healthy lunch when the staff is on point. Somedays the line is nearly out the door and the food comes out cold. Most often it is a hit. They recently added pre-ordering online and via phone to make picking up the working lunch for your office mates easy. They also have added more sushi and miso soup. Overall I am a fan

This is one of favorite places to go for a quick lunch. It’s not a fine dinning experience, but the price, quick service, and good taste of their rice bowls make this a great place for lunch when you are limited on time. I usually get the shrimp or chicken bowl and the quality of the food is pretty much consistent. It’s basically fast good Japanese without a drive through(but you can always get it to go).
